Overraced passing the 1300m, got its head up when being restrained and had to be steadied away from the heels of DAZET. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted, jockey L. Rolls explained that the horse was fresh and overraced throughout the event and raced more forward than anticipated. When questioned regarding the horse’s overall finishing effort over the concluding stages, he said the gelding was disappointing and that the early effort may have told at the finish. Trainer B. Lockwood said that in light of today’s performance he would look to freshening up the gelding before resuming.
