J. Lloyd explained that joining the course proper he was racing tight and he was aware that in previous starts the horse has shown an inclination to overrace when urged along. He said with this in mind and with runners to the outside of him, joining the course proper he was concerned with the position he was in and rather than maintain that spot he took the option to steady slightly to allow himself safe racing room.
