When questioned regarding the performance Apprentice Grylls stated that she was instructed to take up a position where the gelding was comfortable. She said that she was able to obtain a position at the rear of the field and despite putting her mount under pressure from the 800 metres, it was nevertheless disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Connections indicated that the gelding will now be sent for a spell.
