Sewell advised his mount did not travel well in running at any stage and when asked for an effort at the top of the straight did not let down as anticipated and proved very disappointing. He indicated that the gelding, in his opinion, may not have appreciated the warm weather conditions. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
