M. Hellyer said that the mare did not muster early speed, was at the tail of the field, and when pressured from the 600m commenced to hang out. He added that when placed under heavy pressure from the 400m the horse changed stride and raced more tractably and although having some difficulty securing clear running when improving on to the heels of weakening runners, finished the race off nicely and was doing its best work over the concluding stages.
