Jockey M. Cahill reported that the horse was fractious prior to the race and in the barriers when boxed, and although it showed speed to settle in a forward position, when placed under pressure soon after straightening failed to respond and weakened badly over the final stages. A post race veterinary examination of the horse revealed no significant findings other than an elevated heart rate.
