Following an application from trainer C. Munce, stewards permitted the filly to race without a tongue tie, which was listed as part of the horse’s gear. A public announcement was made to this effect.

T. Harrison reported that the horse travelled well in the run, however failed to let down in the straight and proved disappointing. Trainer R. Wilson advised stewards that the mare had undergone a Caslick procedure, however, he was disappointed with the performance today. Mr Wilson added that it was the intention to review the horse’s racing future in the coming days.

Experienced a float breakdown en route to the course, examined by the veterinary surgeon on arrival at the track and passed fit to start. Shifted in abruptly at the start, dislodging its rider. Prior to being recaptured by the Clerk of the Course DATASTAR jumped the outside fence at the 1800m chute, left the racecourse precinct and galloped for a significant distance before being recaptured. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor abrasions.
