Jockey R. Stewart was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that he allowed his mount to shift in near the 900m, resulting in that horse being taken in on to the rightful running of BOLD GYPSY, which in turn was taken in on to SECRET MO, which was taken in to the rightful running of BITHARD, which was racing on the inside, resulting in that gelding being taken in and making contact with the fence and having to be severely checked by its rider. In this incident, jockey J. McNeil also had to take hold of BOLD GYPSY, which lost ground. Jockey Stewart was suspended from riding in races
