Stewards asked jockey R. Fradd to comment on the tactics adopted on the gelding. He indicated that with the addition of blinkers first time to the horses gear he had been instructed to attempt to take up a forward position, which he endeavoured to do so by riding aggressively from the barriers. He indicated the horse did not have sufficient speed to cross ROCKY GAMBLE to his inside and as a result approaching the first turn he attempted to steady to trail that horse, however at the same time the pace of the race slackened and he was able to restrain the horse sufficiently to manoeuvre behin
