Near the 200m was taken in and was obliged to check from the heels of JACARANDA PRINCE, which shifted in abruptly. Stewards inquired into this incident, and after taking evidence from apprentice S. Lacy, rider of ELVISION and jockey D. Browne, rider of JACARANDA PRINCE, were satisfied that at this point of the race JACARANDA PRINCE shifted in abruptly when struck with the whip. Stewards accepted that jockey Browne had attempted to straighten his mount in a reasonable time. Stewards advised the connections of JACARANDA PRINCE that a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the horse.
