Stewards asked jockey R. Stewart to comment on the tactics adopted and the performance of the horse. He indicated it had been his intention to ride in a more forward position, however after beginning well and attempting to secure a position in the forward half of the field formed the opinion he would be caught wide if he continued to press forward and therefore he elected to steady and take up a position in the second half of the field.
