When questioned regarding disappointing performance, Jockey explained he rode his mount vigorously throughout, however it did not respond and never travelled comfortably at any stage. He said that the gelding may be better suited over longer distances. Trainer expressed disappointment with performance and said he would have blood taken from the gelding and undertook to forward the results to the stewards in the ensuing days. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer since reported that blood tests revealed no abnormalities and he would continue with prep.
