Rider B Thompson reported it was not his intention to race in a forward position however after being caught wide in the early stages he allowed the horse to progress to the lead near the 700m, adding CRYMENOTEARS was disappointing when placed under pressure at the entrance to the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
