Near the 500m attempted to secure clear running to the inside of VIVI GRANDA and had to be steadied. Apprentice M. Murphy, rider of AUSSIE TYCOON, was reprimanded and advised in similar circumstances he should show more patience when attempting to secure clear running.

When weakening in the home straight became awkward after being struck with the whip near the 250m and shifted out. The horse again became unbalanced approaching the 100m when struck with the whip and over the concluding stages appeared to shy and shift out. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer L. Ross was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing manners.
