Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Amy Wilson as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.

Based in Gooburrum in the Bundaberg region, Amy is a licensed Thoroughbred trainer and trackwork rider with a genuine passion for supporting horses throughout every stage of their lives, from the racetrack to rewarding second careers. With a strong belief that every horse deserves the opportunity to thrive beyond racing, Amy is committed to ensuring each horse receives the education, care, and individual attention required to successfully transition into their next chapter.

An accomplished horsewoman with extensive experience producing and retraining Thoroughbreds, Amy has competed successfully across a range of disciplines, including showjumping and eventing, achieving numerous wins throughout her career.

Following veterinary assessments and any required treatment or rehabilitation, Amy begins each horse’s retraining journey with groundwork and gradual exposure to everyday experiences they are likely to encounter in their future homes. Once under saddle, Amy focuses on calm, progressive education and developing fundamental skills. As each horse progresses, they are introduced to a variety of environments, allowing Amy to assess their temperament, confidence, and suitability for different disciplines.

Amy’s goal is to produce horses that are happy, calm, and responsive under saddle, with the confidence to excel in their new careers. When rehoming, Amy carefully considers each horse’s temperament, ability, and future potential to ensure they are matched with suitable riders and homes.
