Queensland Off-The-Track proudly introduces Justine Streater as a QOTT Acknowledged Retrainer.

Based in Palmwoods on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Justine is a highly accomplished rider with an impressive career spanning eventing, show jumping, and dressage. Competing successfully throughout Australia, she has achieved four-star CIC eventing, 1.40 metre show jumping, and Advanced level dressage, earning numerous wins and placings throughout her career.

With extensive experience across all three Olympic disciplines, Justine is passionate about producing quality horses and preparing off-the-track Thoroughbreds for successful second careers. While she enjoys training and competing at the highest level, her greatest priority has always been the wellbeing of the horse.

Justine’s retraining programs are tailored to each individual horse, allowing them the time, care, and education required to transition successfully from racing into confident and capable riding horses. Horses are provided with an appropriate let-down period before commencing a structured program focused on groundwork, good manners, relaxation, balance, and correct flatwork, before progressing to jumping and other disciplines where appropriate.

Drawing on her extensive competition experience, Justine carefully assesses each horse’s strengths, temperament, and future potential to develop a pathway suited to their individual abilities. Recognising that every horse transitions at a different pace, her focus is on producing confident, educated horses that are set up for long-term success.

Justine takes great care when matching horses with new owners, considering their experience, goals, and facilities to ensure the partnership is suitable. Where possible, she provides ongoing support during the transition, helping both horse and rider establish a strong foundation for their future together.

Justine specialises in retraining Thoroughbreds for careers in show jumping, dressage, and eventing. Her extensive experience, thoughtful training methods, and commitment to horse welfare ensure every horse is given the best opportunity to succeed beyond racing.
