Golden Greys Summer Carnival set to light up The Q
Australia’s leading greyhounds will return to Queensland this summer for the 2026/27 Golden Greys Summer Carnival at The Q.
More than $2.3 million in stakes will be offered across seven feature race nights from December to February, headlined by the $375,000 Group 1 Gold Bullion.
The Golden Greys action will begin at Q1 Lakeside on Thursday, December 10, with eight QGOLD features exclusively for Queensland-bred greyhounds.
More than $200,000 in stakes will be up for grabs across the opening meeting, providing a strong start to one of the most anticipated carnivals on the Australian greyhound racing calendar.
The 2027 season will start with a bang at Q2 Parklands on Thursday, January 7, with the Group 2 Queensland Derby and Bogie Leigh Futurity - each worth $112,500. The $150,000 Group 1 Golden Sands will follow one week later.
The $100,000 Group 2 Golden Ticket on Thursday, January 21, will provide an ideal lead-up to the Gold Bullion, with the winner securing automatic entry into the $375,000 final two weeks later.
The Golden Ticket heats will again be conducted as four-dog shootouts. The final will feature two-dog match races, with the winner determined by the fastest time.
The Group 1 Gold Bullion will be the centrepiece of the Golden Greys finale at The Q on Thursday, February 4, with a blockbuster program featuring:
- $375,000 Group 1 Gold Bullion
- $150,000 Group 1 Gold Cup
- Group 3 Vince Curry Memorial, Australia’s richest maiden greyhound race, with $112,500 up for grabs.
The Gold Bullion honour board includes Sennachie, Jungle Deuce and last year’s winner, Canya Mayhem.
