Queensland Winter Greyhound Racing Carnival
The 2026 Queensland Winter Greyhound Racing Carnival has concluded after seven feature meetings at The Q from May 9 to July 11. The carnival offered more than $3 million in feature prize money and included QGOLD Finals Night, the Group 1 Ladbrokes Ipswich Cup, the Group 1 Ladbrokes Flying Amy Classic, the Ladbrokes Origin Greyhound Series and the $1 million Group 1 Ladbrokes Brisbane Cup.
The carnival delivered several historic moments across its feature meetings.
Gold Force won the first Group 1 Ladbrokes Ipswich Cup staged at The Q before returning to claim the inaugural Group 2 Mach 10. Consigliere completed a Group 1 double, winning the Ladbrokes Flying Amy Classic before adding the $1 million Ladbrokes Brisbane Cup.
Miss Envy won the Group 1 Queensland Cup, becoming only the second greyhound in modern history to win Group 1 races over 500m, 600m and 700m. The victory also took her career prize money beyond $1 million.
The Ladbrokes Origin Greyhound Series also returned, with rugby league greats Allan “Alfie” Langer and Benny Elias coaching Queensland and NSW respectively. Queensland entered the event with a 4-3 overall series lead, but NSW won all three races to secure a 3-0 victory. Winsome Jet won the Origin Sprint, Firethorn claimed the Origin Distance and Cumbria Jack took out the two-dog Match Race.
