RACE TWO

Maintaining some super form since arriving in Qld, CAPTAIN CRUSADER (7) lines up searching for a hat-trick of victories after winning at the mile and then the sprint trip at his past 2 starts. With a re-take after being crossed early last start, he was never in danger once in control in a strong victory. A big 15m winner 2 starts back, he can overcome the gate for the threepeat.

OAXACAN DREAM (1) was beaten by the gate last start when doing the early work from gate 6 to get forward and then race tough outside the leader, eventually fading in the closing stages. Strong to the line when chasing behind MISTERFREEZE the start prior, she can secure the cosy trip to make a play.

MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (2) has hit the board at his past 5 on the bounce, the latest when taking the closing shot up the passing lane only to be a nose hair shy of the winner VIRGIL. With the benefit of the good gate, he is right in the fight.

THE DEMOCRAT (3) set the speed from the ace last start after firing out to take control but was unable to see it out when 5m in arrears of the winner. Taking them all the way the start prior, he is a place chance here.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN CRUSADER (7), OAXACAN DREAM (1), MAKE MINE MEMPHIS (2), THE DEMOCRAT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN CRUSADER (7) to win

RACE THREE

He faces a tricky gate as the lone 2nd line runner but the ability of CRUNCH TIME (8) to sustain a hot tempo will help his chances to work around the field here. Starting at a short red figure quote last time out, he was unable to see it out after sitting parked. Huge in defeat the start prior as BLACKSADANCE took the prize, he can ease away from the pegs to get into the contest.

MACH DA VINCI (3)
was a winner here 3 starts back when sent to the front from the 2nd line and then holding on to claim victory. Placed in both starts since that win, he was beaten the barest possible last start after working triple time outside the leader. From the gate he can look to take full advantage.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (5) turned over the short-priced CRUNCH TIME last start when displaying his customary closing power, pulling clear to a 5m victory. The small field is again in his favour and with the tempo all but assured, look for him swooping.

OUR UNCLE SAM (6) found the running line early from inside the 2nd line last time out before having the closing power to arrive for a narrow victory. A winner in similar style 3 starts back, he can be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: CRUNCH TIME (8), MACH DA VINCI (3), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (5), OUR UNCLE SAM (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CRUNCH TIME (8) to win

RACE FOUR

Gate 6 makes it a tough ask but with added fitness from her latest start when 1st up 4-weeks, HOT N GOLD (6) can make the most of her chances. Hitting the line in nice order last week when 5m in arrears of the winner KATAMACH, if able to limit the early burn to secure position, the tempo should suit for her descend upon them.

AJAY BREEZY ROSE (4) was a Redcliffe winner from gate 4 over the 2040 trip 2 starts back when sent forward to sit parked and then out-tough them to claim a smart win with a strong last 800m panel. Working early to find position before landing the 1x1 trail, she made a closing lunge to be just a lip from the winner and will throw it down again here.

WHICH HUNT (3) fired the early bullets out of the machine last start to take control in this same grade and setting the speed took them nearly all the way when just 2m shy of the victory. Only a neck away the start prior, she can go close in this.

FEELS LIKA WINNER (10) had been runner-up in both previous starts before last week’s mare’s qualifier. Asked to race tough from gate 7 last start, she was grafting away when not too far from the winner. With even luck she can be around the money once more.

SELECTIONS: HOT N GOLD (6), AJAY BREEZY ROSE (4), WHICH HUNT (3), FEELS LIKA WINNER (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

WILL THE WIZARD (6) should relish getting back to this grade of contest after tackling the FFA event here last week from gate 3. Finding the 1x1 trail, he made a closing rally to come up just short when OUR UNCLE SAM prevailed by an eyelash. Fitter for that run, he can recapture winning form here.

FRANCO HAMPTON (8) is at his best when rolling in front so will not quite get optimum conditions but as the sole 2nd line runner can look to work into the running line. Shooting for the hat-trick, he took them all the way last start from gate 2 which followed a sharp effort from gate 6 throughout. He can make a play here.

VIRGIL (7) has hit some form and last start capitalised on gate 1 to lead throughout to claim a hat-trick of victories. All 3 wins have been from the front so the gate makes it tougher, but he will be in the mix.

COMMODORE JUJON (4) was sent forward from gate 6 last start over the sprint trip at Redcliffe and in a strong closing 800m was still giving when only a neck from victory. Never far away, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: WILL THE WIZARD (6), FRANCO HAMPTON (8), VIRGIL (7), COMMODORE JUJON (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WILL THE WIZARD (6) to win

RACE SIX

MISTERFREEZE (6)
should appreciate a return to this grade after tackling Band company in recent outings. Eased from gate 7 before trying to launch a closing raid last week, he was 8m in arrears of KASH US BACK with a tidy effort. Strong to the line the start prior over this trip behind TOMMY LINCOLN, this looks well within reach.

JONAH JONES (3) was sent forward in the early stages from gate 4 over the mile last start and was required to grind it out when parked. IN for the fight when not too far off the passing lane winner in holding 3rd, a rise to the middle distance is in his favour and one spot closer to the pegs can see him throw down the challenge.

SUBTLE DELIGHT (5) was a real eye-catcher in the FFA 2 starts back when eased from gate 7 before charging home wide off the track in a blanket finish. Again, wide from gate 7 last start when 5m from the winner, he can chime in again here.

OUR BONDI BEACH (1) shoots for the hat-trick and lands the perfect gate to look for the threepeat. Making the closing shot a winner up the passing lane here last week, his record over the middle trip is the big query.

SELECTIONS: MISTERFREEZE (6), JONAH JONES (3), SUBTLE DELIGHT (5), OUR BONDI BEACH (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTERFREEZE (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

absolutely crying out for a victory in this grade, DOUBLE OR NOTHING (5) may finally have found the conditions to capitalise. Form the 2nd line he was deep in the pack when making his run last start and hit the line smartly to be 4m in arrears of the winner. Only a head away from LIFE LAVROS the start prior from gate 7, the smaller field is an added help.

BITCOIN (3) has been in super consistent form of late, hitting the board at his past 8 starts in succession that have included a pair of wins. Searching for a hat-trick of victories 2 runs back, he was forced to do plenty of work when only narrowly beaten. From this gate he can be up on the speed to make his challenge.

ROYAL OBSESSION (8) will have the early options as the lone 2nd liner here and was able to win from 3 poles last start when charging home to take the prize. Only 1m away when grabbing the bronze here 3 starts back, he is in the mix.

GOOD AS IT GETS (6) pressed ahead from the five-hole last start to sit parked and after a steady middle half of 60.5 was unable to go on with it. The gate stings but out to the 2138m should suit.

SELECTIONS: DOUBLE OR NOTHING (5), BITCOIN (3), ROYAL OBSESSION (8), GOOD AS IT GETS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: DOUBLE OR NOTHING (5) to win

RACE NINE

Not completely sold on the early map of this race but all the favours are at the hands of OHOKA CHOPPER (1) who has been runner-up at his past 2 starts. Making good metres to get within a half-neck of GOVERNOR JUJON last week, he was that same margin the start prior from this gate when taking the trail over the mile. He gets every chance to cash-in here.

ROCK FISHERMAN (7) is still yet to land a victory since his Qld campaign started 9 starts back, yet his runs in recent outings have been full of merit. Last week he made a stack of ground after retreating from this gate before charging late when 4m from GOVERNOR JUJON. Best of the rest behind the star 3YO CAPTAIN CRUSADER 3 starts back, he can throw it down again here.

FLO RYDA (8) faces a step up in grade from what he has been meeting at The Triangle in recent outings but has that offset by the gate. Powering home from deep in the field last start to score, he will be probing here.

FIRST STRING (6) has the wide gate to contend with, but if allowed to stride forward and waved on by, his chances will rise exponentially. Not suited when chasing last start from gate 11, he was able to outmuscle them 2 starts back when sitting parked.

SELECTIONS: OHOKA CHOPPER (1), ROCK FISHERMAN (7), FLO RYDA (8), FIRST STRING (6)
SUGGESTED BET: OHOKA CHOPPER (1) to win

RACE TEN

It was good DOUG (4) that came to the track last week and after a safe start and settling in the running line, he loomed strongly and was able to claim a gritty victory over this same trip. It was good DOUG that was here 3 starts back when rolling to the front and proving too classy and if he comes to the track for this, he will be hard to stop.

MORE SHADES OF GOLD (6) pressed forward from the start last week and was able to find the front over this trip. Looking to take them all the way, he was in for the fight and was only worried out of it in the closing strides as DOUG took victory by a neck. With great feet off the line, he will throw it down again.

RED CASTLETON (8) has been kept fresh since the Qld Trotters Cup back on July 24 where he was buried in the run from the 2nd line and finished midfield behind TOUGH MONARCH. With the right trip he can feature fresh.

GODOFTHUNDER (2) did not get the cleanest getaway last time out when, there was plenty of carnage at release point. Chiming in for the bronze behind ALADDIN SANE 2 starts back, he will appreciate no horses in front of him at the start.

SELECTIONS: DOUG (4), MORE SHADES OF GOLD (6), RED CASTLETON (8) GODOFTHUNDER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: DOUG (4) to win
