RACE TWO

MISS VICTORIA (1) shoots for the hat-trick after wins at the sprint trip and the 2040m at her past 2 starts. Beaten for early hustle here 2 starts back, she popped off the poles early and then proved too strong in pulling clear for a 3m victory. Too slick last start when sent to the front from the 2nd line last start, the threepeat is on.

GELDOF (2) has only had the one start here at The Peninsula when settling back in the pack after getting funky gaited before the start from gate 5. His past 3 have been in tougher company than this and with the speed to fire the early bullets here, will get his chance to lay down a challenge.

BOLTA (4) has faced the starter on two occasions since joining the Jack Butler stable, the latest when making a three-wide run from the 900m and finishing just 4m from the winner. He can feature here.

ARK ME (8) set the speed from the ace last start and was trying to fight them off when 3m from the winner. Handing over from the same gate the start prior when a half-neck away, she can trail through early to play her part in the finish.

SELECTIONS: MISS VICTORIA (1), GELDOF (2), BOLTA (4), ARK ME (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS VICTORIA (1) to win

RACE THREE

GET READY TO ROCK (8)
is a consistent performer and has been the runner-up at her past 3 in succession here at The Triangle. Overall, her record on this track is smart with a top-three in 9 of her 12 appearances. Only a half-head away last start, she can be in behind the action and descend on them.

JEWEL OF PEAK (2) has good speed out of the machine and from this gate can look to fire the first shot. Trying to take them all the way last start, the 2040m proved out of reach as she faded in the closing stages. A gritty winner here 2 starts back, a return to the sprint trip from this gate should suit.

MAJOR MISCHIEF (1) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when starting from the 2nd line and finishing back in the pack behind JEWEL OF PEAK. That was on July 22 and followed a close 2nd to the flying OUR ACTION MAN. The gate is a big plus.

ALTANA BLUE (3) finished over the top of the from the 2nd line here 2 starts back in landing victory by a half-neck. Strong to the line wide off the track last start when grabbing 3rd, he can feature here.

SELECTIONS: GET READY TO ROCK (8), JEWEL OF PEAK (2), MAJOR MISCHIEF (1), ALTANA BLUE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-8

RACE FOUR

TRACER BULLET (1)
arrived in Qld searching for a hat-trick of wins after victories at Shepparton and then Mildura but was unable to complete the threepeat when gunned down up the lane by KWASII. The gate has beaten him at the past 2 outings, but he lands the gate to look to atone his defeat.

SWEET LOMBO (5) rolled forward from this alley to sit parked last start and after a tough trip made one closing challenge to be a half-head in arrears of the winner. Closing out in good order when returning from a freshen 2 starts back, he should be tightened further to make the challenge.

KWASII (7) enjoyed the perfect trip in behind the speed before sprinting sharply in the stretch to land the win here 3 starts back. Tackling a much stronger AP contest last start, he will be ready to snipe.

LIVING GRAND (9) should take added benefit from his latest appearance when 2nd up from a spell. Returning when down the line behind MISS VICTORIA, he worked in the run last start and can chime in here.

SELECTIONS:  TRACER BULLET (1), SWEET LOMBO (5), KWASII (7), LIVING GRAND (9)
SUGGESTED BET: TRACER BULLET (1) to win

RACE FIVE

JAMAICAN RESORT (3) was a winner here 5 starts back when easing to the pegs from gate 6 and finding the gaps late to finish over the top. Not far away in each of his 4 starts since that victory where he has gone back on each occasion from tough gates, he might just be able to capitalise in an open affair.

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (2) eased from gate 5 last time out and found a running line position back in the pack. Making some late metres to grab the bronze when 3m in arrears, it followed a neck defeat behind BARBOO when settling in the pocket trail. From this gate he can make a challenge.

PATCHWORK JET (4) tried to take them all the way last start from gate 1 and after a steady 2nd quarter of the mile was still nabbed in the last stride up the passing lane. Placed his past 3 in succession, he will be thereabouts once again.

AURORA ROSE (1) started from inside the 2nd line here 2 starts back and with the cosy trip in behind the speed had the closing power to arrive. With a similar trip, she can be ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: JAMAICAN RESORT (3), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (2), PATCHWORK JET (4), AURORA ROSE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JAMAICAN RESORT (3) to win

RACE SIX

SEELSTERS SONG (5)
was first up in Qld last start when firing out of the machine from gate 4 to take control. Dictating a steady tempo through the opening half, she was able to claim an easy 4m victory without extending. Taking benefit from that run, this is no tougher and she can repeat.

PAGEANTRY (1) took the trail from this same gate last start over this trip and could only manage a 7m margin to the winner SEELSTERS SONG. Beaten by gate 5 the start prior when retreating early to find position, he can get the easy trip again here and be ready to issue some form of challenge.

TULHURST LOVER (9) will need some factors in her favour from this gate as she searches for a hat-trick of victories. Doing plenty of work wide off the track last start and still grinding out the win, she can be joining in against these.

NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (7) has been thereabouts in recent outings, hitting the board in 3 of her past 4 starts. Following inside runs when 5m from SEELSTERS SONG last start, she can be in the mix again.

SELECTIONS: SEELSTERS SONG (5), PAGEANTRY (1), TULHURST LOVER (9), NAUGHTYINHEAVEN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SEELSTERS SONG (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

TEE JAY CEE (2)
was sent to the post as favourite last week from gate 5 and after easing to secure position was making a wide run trying to reel them in. Strong to the line to be just a half-neck in arrears of the winner, he will strip fitter for the outing and looks to get his chance to cash-in.

HANOVER LECTER (1) fired out from gate 2 last week to take control and after setting an even tempo was unable to see it out, finishing 10m from the winner. Gate 5 was her undoing the start prior and with the option for the easy trip from the ace, can look to make a challenge.

REDUCED TO ASHES (7) finally broke through for the maiden breaker last time out, but it was not without a moment of concern when going off-stride in the early stages. He will be probing for the gaps.

OUR BOY ROY (6) returns from a spell after a 4-start campaign following his arrival in Qld. Too strong for them over the AP mile at his last outing back in March, the gate does him no favours here 1st up.

SELECTIONS: TEE JAY CEE (2), HANOVER LECTER (1), REDUCED TO ASHES (7), OUR BOY ROY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TEE JAY CEE (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

WHATA REACTOR (4)
was a winner here 4 starts back when sent around them early from the 2nd line to face the breeze and proving too gritty. Runner up from gate 9 here 2 starts back in a tough effort, she was not entirely on her game last week when down the line. This looks within reach if able to limit the burn.

HARRY CROFT (9) is a last start winner after grafting out a tough win from the breeze. A beaten favourite the start prior from gate 3, he is a four-time winner here at The Triangle. He comes up with a tricky gate but with the likelihood of some tempo and pressure, he can make a challenge.

DATSINAHURRI (3) rolled forward from a wide gate last start and was obliged to work hard in the run when facing the breeze. Game in holding on for the silver, she can be thereabouts in this.

MUSTANG DUDE (2) made the most of the inside gate here 2 starts back when finding the front, walking them early and then holding on for the prize. Grabbed late last start, he has claims again.

SELECTIONS: WHATA REACTOR (4), HARRY CROFT (9), DATSINAHURRI (3), MUSTANG DUDE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WHATA REACTOR (4) to win

RACE NINE

EXPLANATION NOTED (3) tackles the older horses after placing in 4 of her 8 starts to date. Last start she found her own age too slippery as HARLEY BLUE controlled the race and the start prior, she was making some nice closing ground behind TROUPER JUJON. From the gate she looks to get her chance for the breakthrough.

MISTER ROCKTOBER (1) has place in 2 of his past 3 starts as he searches for the maiden breaking win. Looking to take them all the way last start, he was gunned down in the closing stages. 2 starts back from the pocket trail he grabbed the silver and with the options from this gate is in the fight.

FLIRTS DIVA (6) started deep into the red last time out when making her racetrack debut. Finding the front, she was travelling strongly only to throw her chances away with a gait break before resetting and grabbing 2nd. The gate is a dampener.

LIL MISS BREEZY (7) held the 1x1 trail last start from gate 8 and was trying to launch a closing raid when finishing 3rd to GOODTIME ROY. With the economical trip she can make a closing play.

SELECTIONS: EXPLANATION NOTED (3), MISTER ROCKTOBER (1), FLIRTS DIVA (6), LIL MISS BREEZY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: EXPLANATION NOTED (3) to win

RACE TEN

BETTING ORIGIN (1) has been runner-up at his past 2 attempts since switching barns and looks to have found the conditions to open his account in this mixed maiden. Forced to do it the tough way last start, he was in for the fight when making a closing lunge to be within a head of the winner. He looks hard to stop.

GULMARG (5) has no favours from the wide gate but finds the right type of race to be in the mix. Asked to hang tough when parked last start, she was strong to the line when giving all the way to be just a head from the winner. Limiting the early burn will be key to her challenging chances.

OUTER CHANGE (3) was locked away last start and never got warm as HARLEY BLUE and BETTING ORIGIN pulled clear to fight it out. Her previous 2 starts were from the 2nd line where her runs had merit and she is a podium hope here.

STEEVEN (8) resumes from a break after his last start 2nd here on July 7. Using the passing lane when 5m in arrears of KALANI, he has placed in 8 of 13 here at The Triangle and can be probing late here.

SELECTIONS: BETTING ORIGIN (1), GULMARG (5), OUTER CHANGE (3), STEEVEN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 3-5-6-8
