RACE TWO

Dropping back for his first look at this grade, IT AINT THE MONEY (2) has been closing out his races in nice order in recent weeks from tough gates. Luckless last start when unable to secure position, he was strong to the line behind ROCK FISHERMAN. The improved gate gives him his chance.

KEY LARGO (6) easily had the speed to hold the front last start but then got caught with a mid-race move as DOUBLE OR NIOTHING zipped around to take control. With one final dive in the stretch coming up a head short, it had followed a 2nd to FRANCO HAMPTON. He can challenge despite the wide gate.

JONAH JONES (7) rolled forward in the early stages until receiving cover over the 2138m and then taking a final shot in the stretch was 2m in arrears of the winner. A passing lane winner 3 starts back, the gate stings but he can feature.

THE SHADY ONE (3) settled in the pocket trail last start over the 2138m but could not reel them in over the closing stages to claim 4tf. Not too far off them in recent outings, he will not be far away.

SELECTIONS: IT AINT THE MONEY (2), KEY LARGO (6), JONAH JONES (7), THE SHADY ONE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: IT AINT THE MONEY (2) to win

IN PLAY: IT AINT THE MONEY (2) has led twice here at The Creek in 24 starts and won both with opening halves of 58.7 and 57.5. KEY LARGO (6) may be too wide to lead here, but in front his chances rise exponentially. JONAH JONES (7) has swooping chances but will need a strong opening half where he floats out.

RACE THREE

Winless this season BEAST MODE (1) rolled forward from gate 4 over the Redcliffe 2040m to sit parked last start and was fighting hard when 6m in arrears of the winner GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE. Given a tune-up at the trials since that outing, he lands the options here and burrowing through can be in the right spot to cash-in.

GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (9) lines up looking for a hat-trick of victories but his first win here at The Creek. Landing successive Redcliffe wins on a 4-day back-up, he pulled clear for a dominant 17m victory last start with a sizzling closing panel. If close enough in transit, he will throw it down hard.

THE IDEAL DANCER (10) again looked to have had his chance when camped behind the speed and using the passing lane was a neck shy of victory. Placed his past 3, he can make a closing play again.

IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (8) secured the pocket trail from this same gate last start over the 2138m trip but was unable to make the closing shot on DESPONDENT a winning one. Too strong in front the start prior, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: BEAST MODE (1), GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (9), THE IDEAL DANCER (10), IN CHEVRON WE TRUST (8)
SUGGESTED BET: GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (9) win/place

IN PLAY: BEAST MODE (1) is yet to lead in Queensland and is not brilliant off the arm. If he is outhustled, the likely leader would be ROCKNROLL DUDE (2) who has 3 wins in 30 starts at The Creek, just one of those when leading. GOTTAHAVEAHOBBIE (9) should get a nice position should the 2 find the front.

RACE FOUR

The draw has thrown up a few curly questions in this FFA as the map appears a tough guide to victory. SPEECH IS SILVER (6) was third-up from a long break last time and had the closing power to descend on them for the narrowest of victories over the mile. Back out to this trip where he is likely better suited, he can scorch the stretch to arrive once again.

WILL THE WIZARD (7) completed a hat-trick of victories last start when pressing ahead from this same gate to take up the running over the mile. Once in front, there was not time for taking a breather as he powered up to a 7m victory in a 51.6 mile. Despite the gate he will be throwing it down once again.

COLT THIRTY ONE (8) comes up with the 2nd line options and will likely ease off the poles in the early stages. Racing without the shadow roll for the first time since his race debut last week, he was game in grafting it out from the breeze.

CLINTAL DO (1) is a query, first up since the Mr Feelgood back on July 10 with no public trial to report. Beaten by gate 13 on that occasion behind KING OF SWING, he should enjoy the economical trip to sneak into the money.

SELECTIONS: SPEECH IS SILVER (6), WILL THE WIZARD (7), COLT THIRTY ONE (8), CLINTAL DO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SPEECH IS SILVER (6) to win

IN PLAY: Can WILL THE WIZARD (7) blast out to take control early, if that eventuates is will be a sectional watch if the tempo is too slick than SPEECH IS SILVER (6) owns the brilliant closing speed to descend. Where COLT THIRTY ONE (8) gets to early if the speed is solid could give him a chance.

RACE FIVE

Defeated just once here at The Creek, when resuming from 11 months off and running 2nd to DEUS EX, KIWIS ARE FLYING (1) completed the six-pack last start with another clinical victory. Pressing on to bully his way to the front over the 2138m, he was never in danger in a sharp victory. From the gate his opponents will have the target in front of them.

ANOTHER STATEMENT (2) has been in nice touch and importantly returns to the main draw after a pair of runs when banished with the ODM tag. Working home wide off the track last start over the middle distance to grab the bronze, he has hit the board in 11 of 15 this season.

HERBS HERO (5) has been in the money at all 4 starts since returning from a 12-moth break that includes an all the way win. Buried in the run last start, he chased hard to grab the silver, position will be key.

YOUNG CONQUEROR (8) was outhustled off the arm here last start when deep into the red and was forced to settle in the pack before attempting a wide run. Unable to eat into the deficit, he will need to burrow through to protect his spot.

SELECTIONS: KIWIS ARE FLYING (1), ANOTHER STATEMENT (2), HERBS HERO (5), YOUNG CONQUEROR (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 2-5-8 / 2-5-8-9

IN PLAY: KIWIS ARE FLYING (1) is airborne, he really looks the one to beat. The position to get on his back could be up for grabs with YOUNG CONQUEROR (8) not brilliant away.

RACE SIX

With some real eye-catching efforts of late LIFEOFBRIAN (9) might just have found suitable conditions for the breakthrough. Eased from gate 7 last start, he settled rearward before closing out in some smart panels. Asked to graft it out when parked the start prior, he should get a handy trail to capitalise.

CONGO LINE (5) started from gate 2 last start and soon found himself deep in the pack and needing to make a run from back in the pack. Charging hard to score a solid win here 3 runs back, he followed it with a tidy 2nd over the mile. Kept fresh since his last outing, he can make a challenge.

BETTATHANIDEAL (3) has been to the track twice since returning from a spell and should strip fitter again here. Closing out soundly behind SPEAK WITH SAM last time, he can be making a play.

THE HUMMER (1) rolled the sleeves and did the tough stuff last time when sitting parked and fighting hard for 3rd behind DESPONDENT. With the options, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: LIFEOFBRIAN (9), CONGO LINE (5), BETTATHANIDEAL (3), THE HUMMER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFEOFBRIAN (9) to win

IN PLAY: Early speed watch here- SIMON (2) does look to have the speed to lead. Last two time he has led, he has been put away by GOVERNOR JUJON and MAKE MINE MEMPHIS- he does not look to cop that heat here but is 0 from 12 on this track. LIFEOFBRIAN (9) can swoop.

RACE SEVEN

After 3 runs back from a spell where his efforts have been full of merit, LILAC FLASH (1) comes up with the improved alley in the right contest. Easing from gate 7 before finishing hard, he was sectionally super when just 4m from the winner KANENA PROVLIMA. Forced to tackle FFA grade the start prior, he gets the trip to take the snipers shot.

REPLACED EYE (2) is given his opportunity to cash-in with a drop into this grade. Gunned down in front last start at the mile after being sent to the post as fav, he could not go on with it the start prior after doing some early work. Taking control, this is his chance.

KASH US BACK (3) started from this gate last start and on settling was back in the pack and chasing. With MACH DA VINCI laying it out with a sub 27 closing panel, the chasers were always facing a task. Settling handy will be a plus.

VIRGIL (7) has been in super form with 4 of his 7 wins here at The Creek coming in his past 10 outings. With the speed to find the front from the six-hole last week, he took them all the way over the 2138m. He will likely be chasing here but can still feature.

SELECTIONS: LILAC FLASH (1), REPLACED EYE (2), KASH US BACK (3), VIRGIL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LILAC FLASH (1) to win

IN PLAY: REPLACED EYE (2), looks the leader. Sectional watch on him as he was run down over the mile last start, a 27.9 third split softened him. LILAC FLASH (1) will be reliant on getting to the passing lane with momentum, KASH US BACK (3) can swoop if the pace is too hot in front.

RACE EIGHT
This mare’s races are always a keenly contested event and this shapes as being no different. Despite coming up with the wide gate, JEWEL OF PEAK (6) might just have the required hustle to get across them here. Game in defeat after rolling in front 2 starts back, she might just be able to pinch this.

OUR ANTONIO ROSE (7) has now had the 2 starts in Qld for the Dwyer stable, starting from the 2nd line on each occasion. Trying to pick off late metres last start when 5m in arrears of the dictating VOUCHERS, she was a well-beaten favourite when 1st up. Despite the gate she gets her chance.

FAIRIESDELIGHT (4) took control here on Tuesday over the middle trip and with an opening half in 60.5 was unable to finish it off. A Redcliffe winner the start prior, a return to mares only is a plus.

MOLLYS SECRET (9) has hit the board in 3 of her 5 starts since returning from a spell, the past 2 in mares only grade. Chiming in late when 4m from VOUCHERS last start, she can bob up in the money.

SELECTIONS: JEWEL OF PEAK (6), OUR ANTONIO ROSE (7), FAIRIESDELIGHT (5), MOLLYS SECRET (9)
SUGGESTED BET: JEWEL OF PEAK (6) to win

INPLAY: JEWEL OF PEAK (6) looks to have the speed to cross, but a sectional watch will come into play with how hard she runs the first 800-metres. If it is run hard and OUR ANTONIO ROSE (7) is close enough in the run, this might be her chance.

RACE NINE

Kept fresh since his last outing SUBTLE DELIGHT (5) has seemingly found winnable races but just been unable to put them away. 7m from SQUIRE last start over this trip, the start prior he was forced to step up to open company when only 8m from TURN IT UP. With even luck he can cash-in against this line-up.

LEOS BEST (2) has been without a win since March, but he is probably going a little better than his numbers suggest. Buried here 2 starts back when chasing behind NURBURGRING, he is at his best when allowed to dictate and from this gate will get his chance to take a shot.

SQUIRE (7) faces a task from the wide gate but his efforts of late have had merit in tougher company. Sound to the line behind MACH DA VINCI last time, the smaller field will help.

OUR MAJOR DAY (3) was game in defeat when coming off a 40m tape over the Redcliffe 1780m 2 starts back and was gunned down in front at his next start. Sent for a break after that run, he made need the outing.

SELECTIONS: SUBTLE DELIGHT (5), LEOS BEST (2), SQUIRE (7), OUR MAJOR DAY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SUBTLE DELIGHT (5) to win

INPLAY: LEOS BEST (2) has led just three times in his past 40 starts and won all three. A cheap lead makes him tough to stop. If looking at the trail knock-out- IMASPORTSSTAR (1) has no wins from 20 attempts at the middle-distance.

RACE TEN

Stepping back to the mobile conditions after successive wins over the long trip from the tapes, SIR FAHRENHEIT (5) faces a tricky alley. A two-time winner from the mobile, he powered over the top last start from the 20m tape which followed a track record effort the start prior. Just needs to be close enough.

MUSCULUS (3) was 2nd up from a spell last time out when angled to the pegs in the small field over the mobile mile. Finding the line in nice order to grab the bronze, he was 5m from the winner MORE SHADES OF GOLD. Fitter and out to a more suitable trip, he can throw down the challenge.

MORE SHADES OF GOLD (7) pressed forward from gate 6 and with some of his opponent’s making errors, was able to get to the front and keep them rolling to claim victory. He cannot be overlooked despite the carpark.

RED CASTLETON (6) was large in defeat last start after costing himself with an error soon after the start. Catching the field and still beating a couple home, if he trots cleanly, he is right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SIR FAHRENHEIT (5), MUSCULUS (3), MORE SHADES OF GOLD (7), RED CASTLETON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR FAHRENHEIT (5) to win

INPLAY: Gate speed watch here with limited mobile opportunities for the trotters. If RED CASTLETON (6) can cross early, he is in the box seat. SIR FAHRENHEIT (5) will need to settle handy to swoop under mobile conditions.
