Racing Queensland confirms that the Sunshine Coast Turf Club race meeting on Sunday, May 15, has been transferred to the Polytrack at Corbould Park.

The early decision has been made on the basis that the course proper at the venue has already received massive volumes of rainfall (in excess of 210mm) over the past 7 days, and the forecast is for a continuation of inclement weather over the next 48 hours.

The transfer of the meeting has necessitated changes to the distance of one race and the starting limits for all of the races on the program.

Further, one race, the Sacred Elixir (2YO Handicap - 1400m - $50,000), has been reprogrammed to the Ipswich Turf Club race meeting on Wednesday, May 18.

Updated detail pertaining to the other races are as follows:

  • Class 3 Handicap – was 1800m, is now 2000m with a the starting limit of 12;
  • Class 2 Handicap – distance remains unchanged at 1000m with a the starting limit of 12;
  • Benchmark 65 Handicap – distance remains unchanged at 1400m with a the starting limit of 12;
  • Benchmark 58 Handicap - distance remains unchanged at 1400m with a the starting limit of 12;
