GCTC distance changes for three upcoming meetings and Gold Coast Cup

Due to redevelopment works at Aquis Park Gold Coast Turf Club, which will includes the construction of a temporary training track, Racing Queensland advises the following changes have been made to the distance of races at the club’s July 23, July 30 and August 6 meetings, as well as the Gold Coast Cup distance on August 26:

Saturday, July 23

- Benchmark 65 Handicap was 1400m, is now 1350m;

- Benchmark 58 Handicap was 1800m, is now 1700m;

- Ratings Band 0–58 Handicap was 1400m, is now 1350m;

- Maiden Handicap was 900m, is now 1100m; and

- 2yo Handicap was 1400m, is now 1350m.

* Remaning races are as previously programmed.

Saturday, July 30  

- Class 4 Handicap was 1800m, is now 1700m;

- Benchmark 62 Handicap was 900m, is now 1100m;

- Maiden Plate (Set Weights) was 1800m, is now 1700m;

- Maiden Handicap was 1400m, is now 1350m;

- 3yo Handicap was 1800m, is now 1700m; and

- 3yo Maiden Plate (Set Weights) was 1400m, is now 1350m.

* Remaning races are as previously programmed.

Saturday, August 6

- Class 4 Handicap was 1800m, is now 1700m;

- Benchmark 65 Handicap was 1400m, is now 1350m;

- Ratings Band 0–60 Handicap was 1400m, is now 1350m;

- Class 1 Plate (Set Weights) was 1800m, is now 1700m;

- Class 1 Plate (Set Weights) was 900m, is now 1100m; and

- 3yo Class 1 Handicap was 1400m, is now 1350m.

* Remaning races are as previously programmed.

Friday, August 26

Gold Coast Cup ($125k) was 2400m, is now 2200m

* NB: Changes beyond August 6

The following distance changes or starting points will be applicable to races conducted at the venue until further notice:

- 900m races will be run over 1100m, and will start on the course proper;

- 1100m races remain unchanged, however will start on the course proper;

- 1200m races remain unchanged, however will start on the course proper;

- 1800m races will be run over 1700m; and

- 2400m races will be run over 2200m.
