The two-year-old race at Redcliffe on Thursday was a triumph for the Garrard’s Redcliffe Yearling Sale with the first three placegetters – San Marea, Cradock and Yogi - all graduates of the 2021 sale.

San Marea, who was bred and is raced by Alf La Spina and family, not only won the 2YO Burwood Stud Maiden Pace over 1780 metres in the opening race of the meeting, but she was also the first leg of a winning treble for the annual Redcliffe sale.

San Marea defeated Cradock by less than half a metre with Yogi a further 3.2 metres adrift in third.

In the second race, Doolittle Dexter, a $6,000 buy for Kerry Ebert at the 2019 Redcliffe sale, took out the Dan Costello Photography Pace over 1780 metres.

Then Gleneagle Warrior, bought for $3,500 by Graeme Harris at the 2018 auction, saluted later in race eight over  1780 metres at $23.

The previous night Roses Are Sweet and Explanation Noted, both products of the 2020 Redcliffe sale, both emerged successful at Redcliffe, giving the Garrard’s Redcliffe Yearling Sale an amazing five winners in 24 hours!
