Entries for the 2023 Garrard’s Redcliffe Yearling Sale Series 16, which this year saw significant growth in gross and average – are now open.
The 2023 sale will be held at Redcliffe Paceway on Sunday, April 2.
All horses sold at the sale will be eligible for the $100,000 Garrard’s Redcliffe Sale Race Classic in 2024 and the 3YO Classic in 2025.

Nomination forms can be picked up at the Redcliffe Harness Racing Club’s office.
The cost of entry is only $150 and will close on October 31.
The Garrard’s Redcliffe Yearling Sale was provided with a gigantic boost with the results of last Saturday night’s Albion Park feature meeting.
For Real Life (For A Reason-Shes Elegant), a graduate of the 2021 Garrard’s Redcliffe sale, led from end-to-end to capture the Group 1 $103,990 QBRED Triad Final for two-year-old colts and geldings in a career-best 1:55.2.
Bred by Brisbane hobby breeder Aaron Taaffe and his fiancée Alyce Welling, For Real Life was knocked down to Clarendon horseman Trent Dawson for $18,500. He has now won $93,060 from three wins and three placings in nine starts.
Furthermore, Sweet Lombo (Sweet Lou-Lara June Lombo), who was sold for $20,000 at the 2019 Redcliffe auction, won the opening event to lift his earnings to just shy of $50,000.
The gelding was bred by Toowoomba enthusiast Alan Brown and is raced by Beverley Oberthur, a client of Donny Smith’s Redcliffe barn.
