RACE ONE

With good speed out of the machine and a record that highlights his preference for leading at the mile, the conditions look ideal for MAYWYN TROUBADOR (3) to capitalise in this contest. Setting the speed last start in a 2nd division qualifier, he was swamped late when holding 3rd. Absence of pressure is an added bonus here.

PUSHINIT UPHILL (1) has raced on three occasions since resuming from a spell, the latest when sent to the front over the 2138m trip but unable to see it out. Runner-up two starts back at the mile when releasing for the trail, he can secure that same trip here and be ready to offer.

MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (6) pressed ahead before taking cover last start and then making the winning move up the passing lane. Given no favours from the wide gate, he looms as a podium chance.

A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (8) was asked to do it tough last start when sitting parked and despite the tough trip was still giving to the line to hold 3rd. Back to an economical trip here can see her feature.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (3), PUSHINIT UPHILL (1), MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (6), A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYN TROUBADOR (3) to win

RACE TWO

The first of two heats for the Peak of the Creek where the fastest winner chooses their barrier for Saturday’s G2 Final. Off the back of a sharp trial TARGARYEN (7) can look to bounce back to winning form after finishing with the silver last start when working hard first over as HY VOLTAGE took the prize. A winner at his previous four in succession, he can defy the gate.

TAKINGCAREOFBUSINESS (3) heads north for the KerryAnn Morris stable and brings a smart record of 5 from 10. Only 3m from LIGHTNING DAN last start at Menangle, with a gap sooner, he could have been closer. With good speed off the arm, he can find early position to issue his challenge in the stronger of the two heats.

BRIGADIERS SON (8) was ultra-sharp in a recent trial at his first public appearance since crossing the Tasman. Arriving a six-time winner, this is a tricky gate to negotiate, but he remains under watch.

CHAL BE (1) retreated from gate 6 last start and then was searching for openings that did not materialise. Charging over the top of them to score two back, the improved gate helps his chances.

SELECTIONS: TARGARYEN (7), TAKINGCAREOFBUSINESS (3), BRIGADIERS SON (8), CHAL BE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TARGARYEN (7) to win

RACE THREE

He will need the factors in his favour for this contest, but if they present, ARCHILLES (8) will be stalking the speed and be in the prefect position ready to capitalise. A winner from the pocket trail three starts back, he has placed in both runs since when on the pegs and can dive through for this.

WHATA TERROR (10) was sent out as fav from this same gate last start and was working hard three wide in the run to finish within 4m of the winner ARTS PEREGRINE. Midfield the start prior at the 2138m journey, he can follow through and with the right tempo look to issue the closing challenge.

MASTER CHARLES (1) released from this gate last start and from the trail was trying to issue a closing raid, only to come up a half-head short of victory. This might just be the race to dictate.

HEADWIN (3) eased from gate 5 to secure position last start at the mile before making a strong challenge to grab the silver in a second division qualifier. IN this grade he is a threat.

SELECTIONS: ARCHILLES (8), WHATA TERROR (10), MASTER CHARLES (1), HEADWIN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-8-10

RACE FOUR

The 2nd heat of the Peak of the Creek where some early gate heat might just see HEZ ON THE BUZZER (4) find the space to dart across and drop in behind the speed. Taking them all the way last start from gate 1 over the 2138m trip, he can arrive in what looks the lighter of the two heats.

FUTURE ASSURED (6) comes into the Series first up but he has been to the trials where he was sharp behind TARGARYEN in slick time. Last seen in early September with a gritty effort from this same gate and pulling clear to a 10m margin, he will be throwing it down.

MI FURIOSO TORO (2) loves to roll out in front and lands the gate to get forward to set the tempo. Off the second line at his past three which includes a Redcliffe win, the front line is a b
SURF ACE (7) was a Redcliffe winner three runs back at his second Qld appearance when claiming victory at the sprint trip. Doing some early work last start when 8m from HIPSTAR, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: HEZ ON THE BUZZER (4), FUTURE ASSURED (6), MI FURIOSO TORO (2), SURF ACE (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

With four runs back from 12 months off the scene, GINGER MICKY (3) should be approaching full fitness as he gets back to The Creek for the first time this campaign. IN four starts at Redcliffe, he has been able to post a win two starts when leading throughout. He finds conditions to strike.

MIDNIGHT CALM (9) is first up from Tasmania, joining the Matt Elkins stable. Arriving a nine-time winner, his last appearance in the Apple Isle was from outside the second line when not securing the smoothest passage. With a smart local trial to prepare, he stays under notice fresh up.

STOKER ACE (2) did not have the clearest passage last start and could have been much closer had some gaps arrived. Grabbing a tidy 3rd to HES PERFECTLY IDEAL three back, he can chime in here.

THE WEEKEND (6) was first up In Qld last time out when tackling the Redcliffe sprint trip from the second line. Settled back in the pack, he charged home to score with the wide gate a concern here.

SELECTIONS: GINGER MICKY (3), MIDNIGHT CALM (9), STOKER ACE (2), THE WEEKEND (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

LOOKS JUST RIGHT (9)
was sent to the post as fav last start where he darted off the arm to take control at the mile. Leading them deep into the stretch, he was collared in the last stride to go under a neck margin. Pressing through, he finds a race no harder and with the right trip looks hard to stop.

LIVING FREE (6) is the query runner here, first up from a spell and lining up for Ben Crosby for the first time. Last seen at Marburg in early September when sitting parked and fading in the closing stages, he has early speed from the machine and finds a suitable target on the return.

SONNY ORLANDO (4) was grafting it out when parked last start over the 2040 at Redcliffe and despite the tough trip was giving to the wire when 4m in arrears of the winner. He is in the mix.

SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (7) is afforded no favours from the outside paint as he returns from a spell. Grabbing 2nd at his last start in a Trot Rods event, he can chime in here fresh.

SELECTIONS: LOOKS JUST RIGHT (9), LIVING FREE (6), SONNY ORLANDO (4), SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LOOKS JUST RIGHT (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

Runner-up at his past two starts in similar conditions, QUERENCIA (4) can look to make it third time lucky and go one better. Ranging up to make the stretch drive challenge, he was 2m adrift of the winner which followed a gritty effort behind MY RUMOUR HAS IT. This looks his chance.

CONFISCATED (7) was facing a tough ask from gate 6 last start under mobile conditions at Redcliffe and working hard in the run when parked made the task even harder. Runner-up in successive starts to YOU NO ILL BE LATE prior to his latest appearance, he can issue a challenge here from the 20m.

PADDY PANTS (10) resumes from a spell after his last appearance came in a tougher race where he was down the line from a 10m tape. Just 3m away two runs back, he is a place hope fresh.

KAPAI (13) will be chasing from the 40m impost but has been in nice touch with placings in 3 of his past 5 starts. Grabbing 3rd behind the flying KENNY KEKO last start, he can be trucking up late.

SELECTIONS: QUERENCIA (4), CONFISCATED (7), PADDY PANTS (10), KAPAI (13)
SUGGESTED BET: QUERENCIA (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

Sliding across from the wide gate last start, CAPTAIN BRAVEHEART (6) forced the issue to take control with 1200m to travel. Trying to stack them up he was out of bullets in the stretch yet dug in to finish just 2m from the winner. Not suited in tougher company the start prior, he is up to this.

AYE AYE CAPTAIN (4) held them wide from gate 1 last start and after a steady opening half, could not repel them in the closing stages as he faded to be 3m from the winner in holding 3rd. Forget his previous start when striking trouble, he can get forward here to throw down the challenge.

BRAEVIEW FELLA (9) is looking to secure a hat-trick of victories after successive wins at the mile. Darting across from gate 7 and seeing it out last start, he will be chasing to feature this time.

FORGIVE ME (1) started from inside the second line last start where she was hemmed away before trying to make a closing raid in grabbing 3rd. A cosy trip will suit her podium chances again here.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAIN BRAVEHEART (6), AYE AYE CAPTAIN (4), BRAEVIEW FELLA (9), FORGIVE ME (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAIN BRAVEHEART (6) to win

RACE NINE

Off the back of a handy preparatory trial, GO THE RED (4) held on for the silver behind SPORTING LEGEND on debut after being obliged to roll the sleeves and hang tough in the breeze. With the experience of the first outing, he finds the right conditions to open the account.

LUCKY JIM (7) settled in the 1x1 trail last start from gate 3 when trying to make a closing raid and holding on to 4th behind SPORTING LEGEND. Down the line behind the handy FREE THINKER the start prior, the gate dents his chances, but he finds the right battle to issue a challenge.

THREE PARTS GREY (3) is a 2YO filly on debut for Chantal Turpin that ranks as a half to the 12-time winner BROBENAH BOY. Qualifying in nice fashion, she stays under notice in this line up.

FANCY LIKE BARBIE (2) might just show the right type of improvement in getting a look at the wider expanses that The Creek can offer. Not entirely comfortable in three runs at Redcliffe, she can be an improver.

SELECTIONS: GO THE RED (4), LUCKY JIM (7), THREE PARTS GREY (3), FANCY LIKE BARBIE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: GO THE RED (4) to win

RACE TEN

Making her debut here last week from gate 1, PUMPKIN PAT (2) stuck to the inside and stuck to the task in chasing home for the bronze in a two-horse breakaway. QUEENSLANDER prevailed in that battle in a 27 flat closing panel and with the experience garnered from that, she can arrive.

BIDDADDABA BOY (4) opened the account last start when descending on them at Redcliffe and pulling clear to take an 11m margin. Fading after working hard the start prior, he is the only winner in the field and strikes the ideal contest to claim his second straight up.

DONT FEAR FOR ME (6) rolled forward from the wide gate last start before finishing near the rear as QUEENSLANDER and WISPER A SECRET pulled clear to battle it out. Showing steady improvement, he is a place prospect.

SELECTIONS: PUMPKIN PAT (2), BIDDADDABA BOY (4), DONT FEAR FOR ME (6)
SUGGESTED BET: PUMPKIN PAT (2) to win
