RACE ONE

Making his Qld debut with the third start of his career last week, JET LEGS (3) did everything right and was pulling clear on the line in claiming an impressive 5m margin. He should take plenty of experience from the outing which can help him overcome the 10m he cops for that victory.

JACKKA WATCH (7) started off the 50m last week and was wide off the track and hitting the line in smart fashion to grab 4th in the capacity field behind JET LEGS. Only giving that winner 30m this time instead of the 50 of last week and with the benefit of a smaller field, he can throw it down.

BANFF (4) settled on the poles last start and was trying to make some closing metres when grabbing the bronze. Breaking the maiden tag three starts back, he can be close enough to fil the minors.

YEA YOU (5) is still chasing his first win since crossing the ditch and has been freshened since his last appearance when midfield to JACKKA WATCH. With a safe start he can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: JET LEGS (3), JACKKA WATCH (7), BANFF (4), YEA YOU (5)
SUGGESTED BET: JET LEGS (3) to win

RACE TWO

This trot is a hard contest to dissect and made no easier by the fact that any number of scenarios could possibly throw up a different winner. Charging home from the 20m tape on Friday to claim a smart win, RIGONDEAUX (3) has never put two wins together in Qld but off his last start can turn that around. MATATOKI (2) is a safe beginner who might just lob in front and if he can repel any early heat, he could be entertained at a price. IM THE COMMANDO (6) can ping the tapes and if Sanderson has the reins, the pair go well together, including a win from 20m here two starts back, while LEESA CASTLETON (4) has the ability to take this but has made errors in both runs since winning here three starts back.

SELECTIONS: RIGONDEAUX (3), MATATOKI (2), IM THE COMMANDO (6), LEESA CASTLETON (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

First up in Qld two starts back in a small 2YO contest, BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (6) sat off the pace before rocketing home for 3rd, with his own last 400 in sub-27. An easy winner against older rivals on Friday when the winning margins were 6m x 27m, he should be demolishing this 2YO maiden field.

MORETTA (3) was taken back from gate 6 last start and from back in the pack made some nice metres in the closing stages behind the dictating winner GIRL FROM ROSEDALE. 6m from the winner two starts back, she can run the minors.

SKYLAR BREE (2) caught the eye last start when rattling home in the closing stages to run the winner GIRL FORM ROSEDALE to a neck. Limiting the early work will be key to her chances.

HOLME BOY (8) made an error last start and was still just 7m from the winner. He should strip fitter for the outing which was his first since August and from the gate will be probing for openings.

SELECTIONS: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (6), MORETTA (3), SKYLAR BREE (2), HOLME BOY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 6 / 2-3-8-9

RACE FOUR

Sectionally superb in recent outings from tough gates, B MAC C (1) gets the chance from the improved alley to bounce back to wining form to put forward the case of map beats class. Buried from gate 10 last start in finishing midfield, he lands all the options to capitalise.

SPEED DATING (7) will be flying the flag for class, trying to prove that class beats map after copping the outside paint. A Group 2 winner at each of her past two starts, she darted through to claim the Peak of the Creek two back before claiming the Forever Gold mare’s last start. She is up to it.

HY VOLTAGE (6) was not given an opportunity to press to the front last start from this gate and instead dropped straight into the trail and then went within a neck of the prize. He can go close.

BETTORS HOPE (5) was beaten by the wide gate last start when finishing midfield behind a dictating SOEXTRA. The smaller field aids his swooping chances.

SELECTIONS: B MAC C (1), SPEED DATING (7), HY VOLTAGE (6), BETTORS HOPE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: B MAC C (1) to win

RACE FIVE

In a rich vein of form that has seen her hit the board at her past seven in succession, FORGIVE ME (5) has an awkward gate but is going well enough to take this open contest. A narrow winner from inside the second line here two starts back at the mile, she was just a half-head away last time.

MELTON BEACH (8) will be relying on some factors from the inside second line alley here but should appreciate a smother trip first up from a spell. Last seen back in April when slammed with gate 7 and finishing 7m from DELIGHTFUL LOU, he will be searching for the openings to challenge.

BLUE SHARD (10) was a winner here three starts back when pouncing on the lead from gate 2 and taking them all the way. Grabbing the silver up the passing lane last start, he can chime in.

O B LEGAL (1) will strip fitter from his latest outing where he was resuming from a spell. Settled in the 1x1 trail, he couldn’t go when produced at the 400. With the early options he can be sharper.

SELECTIONS: FORGIVE ME (5), MELTON BEACH (8), O B LEGAL (1), BLUE SHARD (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

Snookered against the poles last start from inside the second line GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (3) stuck to the inside to grab the bronze behind the in-form HIPSTAR. A sound effort two back behind another in-form runner in the shape of SOEXTRA, he can get handy to the action to take his shot.

HEAVEN IN LOCKSLEY (7) was second up for Narissa McMullen last start where he was sent forward to sit parked and proved too strong when pulling clear to take a 7m margin. Not much went right for him first up on The Triangle and despite the tough gate, he can throw down a challenge.

GOLIGHTLY (1) resumes from a spell and joins the Shane Graham stable with his last appearance back in March. Taking them all the way from this same gate in a qualifier five starts back, he can feature fresh.

ARTFUL MAID (5) eased from the start last time and then was too far back as HIPSTAR was able to take victory. Just 5m away tow starts back, she can be thereabouts here.

SELECTIONS: GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (3), HEAVEN IN LOCKSLEY (7), GOLIGHTLY (1), ARTFUL MAID (5)
SUGGESTED BET:  GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

A smart first up winner in Qld MIDNIGHT CALM (9) was hitting the line powerfully last start over this trip after settling at the back of the pack, running the winner to a half-neck after skirting wider around the last bends. With the right early trail through, he finds conditions to arrive.

STRONG RESPONE (7) is given no favours from the wide gate here second up after returning from a spell with a tidy victory. Finding the front before releasing, he was then too slippery up the passing lane in claiming the cash. The gate dents the hope of the repeat.

FLIGHT CREW (1) returns from a spell after placing at her past three runs last campaign. A gritty 2nd last start back in January behind MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR, she has the gate to feature fresh.

MOSSDALE MAC (8) was sent to the post as fav last start from the second line and sent to sit parked when finishing 9m in arrears of STRONG RESPONSE. With the cosy trip he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT CALM (9), STRONG RESPONSE (7), FLIGHT CREW (1), MOSSDALE MAC (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MIDNIGHT CALM (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

With benefit taken from her last outing where she was back at the races for the first time following an embargo, PEPPA BLISS (1) comes up with the gate to overturn a 12-month win drought. Strong to the line last time after retreating from gate 7, she lands all the options to capitalise.

BACK TO BETOOTA (9) will be first up from a spell after breaking the maiden tag in the first week of the season with a Redcliffe victory. With a pair of stylish trials in readiness for the return, he will be searching to push through at the start and be chiming in to challenge.

SWEDISH STARLET (8) makes her first appearance since crossing the Tasman, joining the Chantal Turpin stable as a two-time winner. With a sound hit out at the trials, she will be searching for gaps.

SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (2) will be tightened from her return last start at Redcliffe where she was stepping out for the first time in over two years and scored a big win. She is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: PEPPA BLISS (1), BACK TO BETOOTA (9), SWEDISH STARLET (8), SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: PEPPA BLISS (1) to win

RACE NINE

On a big drop in class after contesting the two Summer features, SWAGGIE SHANNON (9) should relish the chance back in old timer’s company. Buried and hunting for luck last time behind MACH DA VINCI, he was not that far from BLACKSADANCE two back. Tempo should suit for him to arrive.

MOHS EM DOWN (8) had to angle off the pegs from this gate last week after being carted back through the pack behind a tiring leader. Able to find the space to grab 3rd, it followed a 2m margin in arrears of OUR MAJOR DAY. Tucked in behind, he will be searching for the openings.

MARETTI (1) is still chasing an elusive 2022 victory after 15 attempts have come up short. Wilting last start in front at the 2138m, a return to the mile can see him gripping on in the stretch.

ITS MR CLOONEY (4) was a winner here four starts back when darting across from this gate to lead and take them all the way. Tough gates stung at his next two and then was required to sit parked last week.

SELECTIONS: SWAGGIE SHANNON (9), MOHS EM DOWN (8), MARETTI (1), ITS MR CLOONEY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SWAGGIE SHANNON (9) to win
