RACE ONE

Although ROCK BOTTOM (2) was beaten by gate 7 last start, the run was still full of merit when just 4m from the winner after pressing forward early to secure position. Finding the front two starts back and only collared on the wire by INFATUATION, he lands the gate to dictate.

BOMBADIER JUJON (3) has come through the same races as ROCK BOTTOM at his past two, the latest when 3m from the winner after settling in the running line and trying to launch a closing raid. He can slide across to settle handy to the action once again and issue the challenge.

INFATUATION (10) has been the victor in both contests listed above and chases a hat-trick of wins. Both wins have been when securing a peg trip and arriving up the passing lane. This will be harder.

MAJORDOIT (1) is chasing down a hat-trick of victories after successive wins over this trip. Forcing the issue to work to the front last start, he will get the easy trip here and be trying to chime in.

SELECTIONS: ROCK BOTTOM (2), BOMBADIER JUJON (3), INFATUATION (10), MAJORDOIT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCK BOTTOM (2) to win

RACE TWO

In a rich vein of form since arriving in Qld, SOEXTRA (5) pressed on to find the front last time out and once in control pulled away to claim a big 12m margin in a new PB rate. 4m away over the 2138m two starts back after sitting parked, he can get forward here to give them the target.

SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (9) has been freshened since his last start where he was 3m away over the Menangle 2300m trip behind TRIPLE FOUR. Placed in 2 of his 4 outings during his NSW campaign, he gets back to The Creek where he has four wins and will throw it down to them here.

LETS BLAZE (1) was able to overcome gate 10 last time out when letting down strongly wide off the track to claim a qualifying victory. That made it 3 from his past 4 with the gate a huge help here.

GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (8) looks set for the easy trip and will just need the space when he is ready to roll. Runner-up his past two, the latest behind the airborne MIDNIGHT CALM, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: SOEXTRA (5), SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (9), LETS BLAZE (1), GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SOEXTRA (5) to win

RACE THREE

Sent to the post as the fav two starts back, punters were left reeling as THE HIGH COMMANDER (2) made a starting error and was never in the contest. Given a let up following that outing, he returned last start where he was stung with gate 12. Returning to the main draw, he has the gate to capitalise.

TARGARYEN (10)
is in super form and will be hoping he has the class to overcome the mapping disadvantage. Chasing down a hat-trick after sweeping a 70Series in his past two starts, he powered home in the Final after defying this gate in the heat. He will throw down a concerted challenge.

GOELITZ (3) rolled forward early in the 70Final before finding cover and then finishing 6m in arrears of TARGARYEN. Just 2m from SPEED DATING the start prior, he can be handy enough to place.

PRINCE JOY (8) was beaten by gate 7 last start after retreating for position and then unable to get warm behind BETTERTHANAROCKET.  With the chance of a cosy trip, he will be searching for gaps.

SELECTIONS: THE HIGH COMMANDER (2), TARGARYEN (10), GOELITZ (3), PRINCE JOY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: THE HIGH COMMANDER (2) to win

RACE FOUR

Faced with gate 10 here last week in an all-age QBRED event, BONNIES DANCE (8) settled in the running line and was trying to reel them in when grabbing 2nd behind FAST TRACKER. Hitting the line hard behind subsequent winner BETTERTHANAROCKET two back, she will be stalking, ready to strike.

MAGICAL MAYA (1) started from inside the second line before working into the running line last start but could not get into the contest as UPTOWN BEACHGIRL dominated. Fading late after setting the tempo two starts back as TIMS A TROOPER arrived, she will be in front deep into the stretch.

ALWAYSBME (11) was resuming from a spell last start and after settling in the 1x1 trail was held up when she needed to find open space, hitting the line smartly once the gap opened. The gate stings.

RACY ROXY (5) has been behind them through the bigger 3YO events earlier in the Carnival, despite having economical trips. The gate is awkward here but with the right trip, she is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: BONNIES DANCE (8), MAGICAL MAYA (1), ALWAYSBME (11), RACY ROXY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BONNIES DANCE (8) to win

RACE FIVE

A strong edition of the Lord Mayors Cup with the big players from the G2 Qld Cup back in action, with the winner of that contest, MACH DA VINCI (5), staring down a hat-trick of wins. Too slippery in the stretch to take the Qld Cup, he monstered NORTHVIEW HUSTLER last start. Holding the front-line advantage over his main rivals is a big asset.

BLACKSADANCE (12) has been dealt the cruellest blow at the barrier draw, landing he outside of the second line. Sent forward from gate 9 in the Qld Cup last start, he wilted after being forced to work triple time. He claimed the Be Good Johnny the start prior but how he gets into this to challenge is a huge query.

TURN IT UP (9) led them deep into the stretch last start, before MACH DA VINCI grabbed supremacy near the wire. A winner at his previous two starts, he can press through early and if close enough, has a powerful, one-shot closing sprint.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (2) walked them the first 1300m of this trip two starts back and was worried out of it by MACH DA VINCI. Holding on at the mile last week, he has the gate to stake a claim.

SELECTIONS: MACH DA VINCI (5), BLACKSADANCE (12), TURN IT UP (9), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH DA VINCI (5) to win

RACE SIX

Striking trouble from gate 1 last start and never in the mix thereafter, SAILALONG SINBAD (8) has the gate to be stalking the speed. Taking them all the way at Redcliffe two starts back, he is winless here on the big oval, but gets his opportunity here to amend that anomaly.

SHADOW MINISTER (1) started from outside the second line at Redcliffe last start and made an error that ended his chances. From gate 10 on this deck two starts back he was making some nice metres in the closing stages and the improved gate in this grade looks tough to overlook.

GELDOF (4) eased from a wide gate at Redcliffe last start before making strong ground in the latter stages when under 2m from subsequent winner THERESACHANCE. He can press forward to feature.

TUNGSTEN TERROR (9) fired out from gate 7 last start and from the front was able to repel all comers to claim a 10m margin. Trailing through at the start, he can position to join in.

SELECTIONS: SAILALONG SINBAD (8), SHADOW MINISTER (1), GELDOF (4), TUNGSTEN TERROR (9)
SUGGESTED BET:  Exotics 1-4-8-9

RACE SEVEN

Second up from a spell last start, EVA MATEO (2) was snookered until well into the stretch, really finding the line once a gap opened, but the contest was gone. 2m from the winner LADY AVANA in that battle, she has good speed off the arm to take an early shot and look to dictate.

SARAH ANNE (9) was sent to the post as fav two starts back where she was sent forward to sit parked but could not cope and faded to finish at the rear of the field. A gritty 3rd here two back, she gets the chance to be saved for one shot here which might just prove to be more beneficial.

LUCKY NUTTER (4) settled in the 1x1 trail last start and finished midfield behind the dictating SOEXTRA. Runner-up her previous two, a return to mare’s grade suits and she is going well enough to feature.

LADY AVANA (5) rolled forward from gate 4 last start and sitting parked was able to graft out a determined victory, taking a 2m margin. Both previous efforts were luckless with this looking a sticky gate.

SELECTIONS: EVA MATEO (2), SARAH ANNE (9), LUCKY NUTTER (4), LADY AVANA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: EVA MATEO (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

After a gritty effort from gate 7 here two starts back, OKINAWA BEACH (1) went to Marburg and was able to find space to break free from the pocket to take victory. Her first up 3rd here three starts back behind MAJIC MOMENT was a tidy effort and the improved gate is a huge help to her chances.

DANCINTOTHEBEAT (4) eased across to find the 1x1 trail from gate 6 last time out and then could not get into the action, finishing 10m in arrears of the winner. Strong to the line two back when just a neck from the winner, with better luck, she can throw down the challenge here.

MISS MIA (8) forced the issue last start to press forward and from the front was only collared in the closing stages. With the economical trip behind the sped, she can take a closing shot.

TINGE OF FEAR (5) has been in consistent form in recent attempts, with a victory and three 2nd from her past four. Trying to launch a closing raid from outside the second line last time, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: OKINAWA BEACH (1), DANCINTOTHEBEAT (4), MISS MIA (8), TINGE OF FEAR (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

A winner from a wide gate over this trip last time out, FUTURE ASSURED (6) looks to have found similar conditions again here. Under 2m from the winner SPEED DATING in the Peak of the Creek two starts back, he controlled it last start out in front and can press forward and look to again be the dictator.

AWAYWEGO (2) rolled forward to sit parked last time out over the mile and was able to grind out the victory. Sectionally strong in recent starts but unable to capitalise, he finds his chance to fire some early bullets before the option to trail looks his chance to throw down the challenge.

MISTY CREEK (5) is having no joy in landing a barrier, his effort last start full of merit when sitting parked from gate 7 and holding on for the bronze in a qualifier. He might need to roll the sleeves again here.

BANGKOK DEEJAY (7) returns from a spell after his last appearance came in the South East Derby where he was at the tail of the field. With a pipe opener at the trials, the gate makes it tough first up.

SELECTIONS: FUTURE ASSURED (6), AWAYWEGO (2), MISTY CREEK (5), BANGKOK DEEJAY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: FUTURE ASSURED (6) to win

RACE TEN

Although her winning streak of five ended last start, CHEER LEADER (1) was brave in defeat when only beaten a head behind BOLD MEDLEY JUJON. The gate and small field can see her back on top- Stronger than steel, hotter than the sun, Cheer Leader won’t stop until she gets the job done.

FREE THINKER (3) is yet to miss the money in 7 career starts, with 2 wins accompanied by 5 minors. Only 4m from BOLD MEDLEY JUJON last start after being forced to sit parked, the start prior he found the trail and was just 3m away from CHEER LEADER. He can finish in the money once again.

EXCITING TIMES (2) is undefeated in three career starts with the past two coming against older opponents. After a 2YO debut victory, she was sent for a spell and has returned in fine fettle. Darting straight in behind the speed, she can be ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: CHEER LEADER (1), FREE THINKER (3), EXCITING TIMES (2)
SUGGESTED BET: CHEER LEADER (1) to win
