RACE ONE

A 2YO tackling this mixed maiden at his first race appearance, SURE THING CAPTAIN (9) certainly trialled like a horse with a bright future when earning his race ticket. Settled four back in single file, it was the trial of a far more experienced horse than an unraced 2YO. This looks at his mercy.

GWYNETH P (3) is a lightly raced mare making her first Aus appearance. Arriving from the North Island of NZ, the 5YO has placed in 3 of her 9 career starts. Those 3 placings have been in her past 5 starts and from the gate gets a sliding doors moment if the fav makes an error.

OLLIE ONE SHOT (6) is on the back up from Wed night where he chased hard for the silver behind THE WATERBOY. The gate stings but he can claim some races once he refines his race craft.

SWEETNSPICY (2) will be stepping out for just her second start in the hope of snaring a 2YO victory. Finding the line in nice style on debut behind ALTA MAGACIAN for 3rd, she is again a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: SURE THING CAPTAIN (9), GWYNETH P (3), OLLIE ONE SHOT (6), SWEETNSPICY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 9 / 2-3-6 / 2-3-5-6

RACE THREE

This race shapes as a tricky contest to dissect but if able to position cheaply near the front end, it might just be the right conditions for JUST ONE GOOD ONE (5) to cash in. Making some good metres along the passing lane last start, he can press forward to take his shot.

HANDSOME HARRY (2) started from inside the second line last time out and was locked away when trying to make some late metres in grabbing a minor behind THE CROM. With his past three all from the second line, he has the gate to be closer to the action to issue the challenge.

FEELING THE POWER (4) settled in the running line last start and was trying to warm up when finishing in the second half of the pack behind BATMAN BART. Getting handy will aid his chances.

TRIOLI (1) showed little speed here early from gate 3 last start and was soon in a rearward position and chasing. With the chance to be closer from this alley, she can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: JUST ONE GOOD ONE (5), HANDSOME HARRY (2), FEELING THE POWER (4), TRIOLI (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JUST ONE GOOD ONE (5) to win

RACE FOUR

Able to overcome this same gate last start after securing the trail, BONZA GUY (8) owned superior close out speed to take a 3m margin. Needing some factors to fall in his favour, the 1 is a decent beginner and if it can get him to the lane with momentum, he will take holding out.

EXCITING TIMES (9) steps up against the older horses after her past two have been against her own age where she was 7m from CHEER LEADER from the trail and 3m from YOGI at Redcliffe. With the right trail and a race that should have tempo, she can be descending on them.

BATMAN BART (3) is on a heater and lines up chasing four on the bounce. Sent to sit parked from the second line last start, he grafted out a gritty victory and from this gate can get forward to feature.

DIEGO DELGADO (1) was required to sit parked last start and after the tough trip faded to be 9m from the winner BONZA GUY. A Redcliffe winner two back, he can burrow through and be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: BONZA GUY (8), EXCITING TIMES (9), BATMAN BART (3), DIEGO DELGADO (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-8-9

RACE FIVE

After a pair of disappointing efforts at her past two starts on paper, there are plausible excuses for the reasons why SPEED DATING (7) was out of the money. Putting together three on end prior to her down the line effort behind MIDNIGHT CALM two starts back, she can defy the gate with a bounce back.

SMOOTH CASH (2) has the solitary win in his 17 appearances here at The Creek and last start was not suited off the second line as HESTON ZOOLANDER carved it out in front. Beaten in red figures tow starts back, he has the early hustle to be up on the speed to make a challenge.

DELIGHTFUL REASON (9) was sent out as the fav last time out in a mare’s FFA and was trying to make a closing riad when 7m from the winner. Luckless the start prior, she is up to this.

JUST JOSHIN (6) is always a consistent performer and was able to grab the bronze behind SURF ACE last start. Not helped by the wide gate and his poor win percentage on this deck, he is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: SPEED DATING (7), SMOOTH CASH (2), DELIGHTFUL REASON (9), JUST JOSHIN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SPEED DATING (7) to win

RACE SIX

Sent to the post as the fav last start at Redcliffe MALINJANG (2) darted through to hold the front from the inside gate. With a solid tempo set in front, she was unable to finish them off as FLIGHT CREW took the prize. Runner-up two starts back, she gets a chance to open her AP account.

STUDLEIGH SONNY (4) eased from gate 6 over the mile last time out and from well back in the field was making nice metres in the closing stages to be 8m from the winner. Not suited off the second line over the 2138m two back, this is his best alley recently and gives him a chance to challenge.

PRESS STATEMENT (9) has finished midfield at his past two starts, the latest when chasing home behind MELTON BEACH. A tidy 3rd here three back, he can find position to chime in late.

SEATTLE TRACE (1) has had the two starts since arriving in Qld, the latest when cutting the breeze as HY VOLTAGE carved it out in front. With the easy trip on offer, she can fill the minors.

SELECTIONS: MALINJANG (2), STUDLEIGH SONNY (4), PRESS STATEMENT (9), SEATTLE TRACE (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

With a super record that shows 6 wins in 9 outings here at headquarters since arriving in Qld, SLIP THE HUNDY (9) returns from a one start outing. Collared in the closing strides when 2nd to BETTOR ISOLATE in the Rising Sun Consolation, he returned in October with a dominant win. Despite being fresh up without a trial, he can arrive.

HIPSTAR (8) has been given an easy month, with his last appearance back on Dec 2 when asked to sit parked and game in defeat behind a passing lane winner in ANOTHER STATEMENT. Snookered from inside the second line the start prior, he will be searching for the openings to challenge.

BITCOIN (7) has another wide gate to negotiate but if the tempo is right, he will be rattling home late. Sent to sit parked last start when 6m away at Redcliffe, it followed a 7m deficit to TARGARYEN.

HITTHEROADJACK (6) tackled a Saturday night contest last time out when sent to sit parked and was able to claim a starchy victory. The wide gate dents the chances.

SELECTIONS: SLIP THE HUNDY (9), HIPSTAR (8), BITCOIN (7), HITTHEROADJACK (6)
SUGGESTED BET: SLIP THE HUNDY (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

OCTOBER RACKETEER (1) was beaten by the wide gate last start over the Redcliffe sprint trip when settled too far back after retreating to secure position. Just a head from the winner when darting up the passing lane two back, he has all the options here to breakthrough for his first this season.

MISTER CAUTIOUS (6) was first up from a spell last start when settled back in the pack from the outside second line gate at Redcliffe. Powering up in the latter stages, he was able to claim a 2m margin. Tightened from that run, he can look to throw it down second up.

VOODOO FELLA (3) was building towards a victory and was able to capitalise last start at Marburg when working home wide off the track. Placed his previous three, he can be joining in here.

GOALKICKER (2) was hemmed away last start in a mare’s qualifier and never saw a clear air. Wide gates ended her chances in the previous two starts and with a big gate improvement can feature.

SELECTIONS: OCTOBER RACKETEER (1), MISTER CAUTIOUS (6), VOODOO FELLA (3), GOALKICKER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OCTOBER RACKETEER (1) to win

RACE NINE

Resuming from a let up last start and faced with the outside front line LEITHEN BURN (5) was taken off the gate to settle back in the pack. When let loose, he moved up and was strong to the line, running some smart closing panels to be a half-head away. Fitter for that run, he can cash in here.

AWAYWEGO (9) faced the outside front line in the Redcliffe Guineas last time out and was luckless in the run when under 4m from the winner WE ALWAYS HAVE FAITH. He did not have the smoothest passage in the Members Cup two back and with the right tempo, he can make a challenge.

BONNIES CAM (1) has faced the second line in his past two starts, the latest when attacking the line in fine order when beaten a head. With the improved gate, he will be tucked away ready to join in.

HESTON ZOOLANDER (6) pressed the issue last start to work to the front and once in control was able to claim a dominant 10m victory. The wider gate dents his chances, but he is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: LEITHEN BURN (5), AWAYWEGO (9), BONNIES CAM (1), HESTON ZOOLANDER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: LEITHEN BURN (5) to win

RACE TEN

Overcoming gate 7 last start when sent forward and able to take control, MELTON BEACH (9) will be looking to get the right cart into the contest here. Running a career PB to claim the 3rd victory of his 15 starts to date, he is starting to furnish into a more complete package and can round off the season in style.

HEZ ON THE BUZZER (1) was asked to sit parked over the 2138m last start and after the tough trip was unable to go on with it in the latter stages. Wide off the track at Marburg the start prior, he is a big winner with the improved gate and lands the options to challenge.

IDEAL TIGER (6) is given no favours from the wide gate, but his recent efforts have had merit and sectionally he has been sound. Under 3m from the winner two starts back, he will rely on tempo.

DELTA THREE (4) started from inside the second line last start in a mare’s qualifier when snookered and using the passing lane to be 9m from the winner. Back to the front line is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: MELTON BEACH (9), HEZ ON THE BUZZER (1), IDEAL TIGER (6), DELTA THREE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MELTON BEACH (9) to win
