RACE ONE

BRING THE FLAVE (4) was a winner from this same gate two starts back when sent forward to take control and from the front was able to claim a neck margin. Chasing home from the second line behind SHADOW MINISTER last start, he can use the gate to get forward and take his shot.

IDEAL TIGER (5) tackled a strong race last start over the AP 2138 where he sat in the trail from gate 1 but could not go with them when the power went on. Sound when midfield to KANYE CRUSADER two starts back, the gate does him no favours here, but the class drop looks will help.

CANT BLUFF YOU (8) settled in the 1x1 trail last start from gate 9 when trying to make some closing metres and finishing 6m astern of the winner. He can be chiming in late to grab a minor here.

MI FURIOSO TORO (7) was a passing lane winner here three starts back when darting through to take the prize. Placed in both runs since in tougher company, if the gaps arrive in time, he is up to it.

SELECTIONS: BRING THE FLAVE (4), IDEAL TIGER (5), CANT BLUFF YOU (8), MI FURIOSO TORO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BRING THE FLAVE (4) to win

RACE TWO

ARTISTIC SAINT (5) started from this same gate last start when easing across to secure running line cover before looming strongly in the stretch. Finishing the barest possible margin from the winner through a smart closing 800, he finds a similar set up and can go one better.

COURAGEOUS SAM (8) had been suffering a strong of bad alleys until landing gate 1 here last week and looking to lead throughout. In front every stride bar the one that counted, he hit the line in nice style two starts back and with the right trip will again issue a challenge.

TRUE GRIT SHADOW (1) took on an easier battle last start when sent to the front from gate 4 to dictate to a huge 18m victory. He has the gate to chase a repeat.

MASTER CHARLES (2) was runner-up here two starts back when making some nice closing metres behind WHATA TERROR. With early hustle off the arm, he can be close enough to feature.

SELECTIONS: ARTISTIC SAINT (5), COURAGEOUS SAM (8), TRUE GRIT SHADOW (1), MASTER CHARLES (2)
SUGGESTED BET: ARTISTIC SAINT (5) to win

RACE THREE

OUR BOY ROY (8)
was a winner two starts back from gate 3 when sent forward to sit parked and proving too strong was able to pull clear to a 7m margin. Sent around from the second line last time to do it the tough way, he can get the right early trail to capitalise.

HEAR THE CALL (9) chalked up another minor here last week when issuing the closing challenge to get within an eyelash of victory. Beaten that same margin now twice in his past three starts, he can be throwing it down again here and will loom strongly.

DATSINAHUIRRI (4) is at her best when able to find the front and was a winner from gate 5 here two starts back when taking control. Beaten by the inside second line last time, she can feature.

BLACKJACK BETH (7) was a winner when leading here three starts back and then last start was a late closing 2nd from outside the front line. Needing some luck, she will be probing for openings.

SELECTIONS: OUR BOY ROY (8), HEAR THE CALL (9), DATSINAHUIRRI (4), BLACKJACK BETH (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

TORQUE WRITER (6)
was first up for the Butler stable last start when starting from this same gate and powering home over the top to claim victory. Fitter for the run where she was first up six weeks, this field is not any tougher than her last start.

FEELING THE POWER (7) will be requiring a slice of luck at some stage from this gate to find clear running. Buried last start from the same gate when grabbing the bronze behind JAYDES TERROR, it followed a midfield return from outside the front line. Open space can get him home.

CAMPBELL BEST (3) has early hustle and from this gate can look to fire the early bullets. Runner-up last start behind OUR RUBY ROSE, he can be thereabouts.

WHATA REACTOR (9) was a winner from the pocket trail here three starts back an then nothing has been in her favour in the two runs since. Tempo will help her chances of chiming in.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE WRITER (6), FEELING THE POWER (7), CAMPBELL BEST (3), WHATA REACTOR (9)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE WRITER (6) to win

RACE FIVE

ARTFUL JACK (1)
has had the inside second line gate at his past two starts, the latest when shuffled to three back when 6m away. Using the passing lane to get within a head of the winner two starts back, he can look to make full use of the improved alley.

ILLBEWATCHING (6) has no favours from the outside front line, but he might find this a little easier than recent outings. Luckless from the second line last time when chasing behind ROCKSLIDE, it followed a 3rd to IN CHEVRON WE TRUST. Despite the wide gate he can issue a challenge.

AQUA CRUISER (2) has placed at his past two starts, the latest a gritty effort when sitting parked and only a head from the winner. That followed a half-head defeat and from this gate he can feature.

AURORA FIG (5) had been building towards her first Qld victory after finishing as the runner-up on successive occasions. Franking that with a dominant display last start, she can chime in from the tough gate.

SELECTIONS: ARTFUL JACK (1), ILLBEWATCHING (6), AQUA CRUISER (2), AURORA FIG (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ARTFUL JACK (1) to win

RACE SIX

SABOTAGE (4)
started from inside the second line last time out when buried away in the run. Trying to find the gaps to make a closing raid as MULLUM BOY arrived, it followed a 3rd behind LOOKAT MEE. She strikes conditions to chase victory.

SAN MAREA (7) was resuming from a spell last start when pressing forward from a wide gate to get handy before making a closing raid to be a half-head from the winner. Chasing the smart CHEER LEADER at her last appearance last campaign, she will be searching for the openings.

FIVE STAR GEM (9) faced this same gate last start where he found the running line before making a late raid to be just a neck adrift of the winner. He can be chiming in strongly again here.

PRETTY GOOD REASON (3) was beaten by the second line last start when settled back in the field and unable to warm up over the closing stages. Placed her previous two, she has claims.

SELECTIONS: SABOTAGE (4), SAN MAREA (7), FIVE STAR GEM (9), PRETTY GOOD REASON (3)
SUGGESTED BET:  SABOTAGE (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

DONT FEAR FOR ME (6)
has no favours from the wide gate but his last start effort was encouraging heading into this level of contest. Banished to the trials two starts back, he earned the return with a slick hit out and then last start worked to the front from the second line. He can defy the gate.

MY GIRL MANDY (3) found the 1x1 trail from this gate last time out and chased home to be 7m from the winner DIEGO DELGADO. 3rd to BOKHARI here two starts back when burrowing through from gate 1 and attempting to take them all the way, she can be close enough to issue a challenge.

SUBTLE CHAY (5) returns from a spell after being shut down following the maiden breaking win last start back in November. Building towards that win with 4 placings in his previous 5, he can feature fresh.

CONNIES SPIRIT (7) has been placed in three of her past five, the past two in succession when finishing as the runner-up. Chasing the handy GWYNETH P last start, she will be probing.

SELECTIONS: DONT FEAR FOR ME (6), MY GIRL MANDY (3), SUBTLE CHAY (5), CONNIES SPIRIT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: DONT FEAR FOR ME (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

TORQUE IN CONTROL (1)
was first up for the Butler stable last start when taking control in the early stages from this same gate before releasing for the trail. With a midfield finish thereafter, she strikes a winnable race here and with the added fitness can capitalise.

LAZY BLAZE (2) settled in the 1x1 trail last time after starting from the second line but could not get war in the latter stages when midfield to OUR RUBY ROSE. He can have an early look here and might be able to generate space to drop for the trail which would open his chances right up.

WHATA CHALLENGE (7) trailed the field home last start from gate 4 which had followed a 3rd at Marburg. With the economical trip on offer, he can be searching for the passing lane to chime in.

CIRCLE LINE (3) eased from gate 5 last start and from back in the pack was trying to make a closing raid when 4th to LURKING. With the improved gate he can get forward to feature.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE IN CONTROL (1), LAZY BLAZE (2), WHATA CHALLENGE (7), CIRCLE LINE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-7

RACE NINE

SUNNY COVE (4)
looks to take a nice class drop for this contest after tackling second division qualifiers at his past two starts. Just 6m from THE GENERAL last start when sticking to the inside, he claimed a 1.55.3 PBB three starts back over the AP mile and looks well placed here to capitalise.

THE EGG COUNTER (5) will be first up for the Ben Battle barn and arrives a last start winner at Yarra Valley when starting deep into the red and sent to the front to lead throughout over the 2150m trip. The wide gate makes the task tricky, but she stays under a big watch.

BOKHARI (2) was a winner here two starts back when settled in the trail from inside the second line and then using the passing lane darted through to claim victory by a head. She is a podium hope.

LOOKAT MEE (1) was a winner from this gate over this trip two starts back when darting through to lead and take them all the way. This is a tougher ask, but the gate gives her the chance to feature.

SELECTIONS: SUNNY COVE (4), THE EGG COUNTER (5), BOKHARI (2), LOOKAT MEE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SUNNY COVE (4) to win

RACE TEN

SUNRISE RUBY (7)
will require a slice of luck at some point to find open space, but the mare arrives with the Dixon stable with 9 placings in her 15 career starts as she chases the maiden breaker. Runner-up last start at Stawell, she has trialled soundly in readiness for her Qld debut.

MYSTICAL CHARM (4) made it four successive 2nd placed finishes last start when finding the front within 300m from two off the second line. Collared in the closing stages by ONE CHAIN ROAD, it followed a 2nd to the handy 2YO IGNITE THE FIRE. She can get forward to chase the elusive win.

SHE DAZZLES (6) struck trouble first up which ended her chances and then second up made a starting error that sees her face the ODM embargo. Rallying late to be 3m in arrears last start, she can chime in.

IMA MIDNIGHT REBEL (3) returns from a brief freshen following her last start when eased to the poles for the short cuts when midfield behind TIN AMBER MINE. She has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: SUNRISE RUBY (7), MYSTICAL CHARM (4), SHE DAZZLES (6), IMA MIDNIGHT REBEL (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SUNRISE RUBY (7) to win
