RACE ONE

Making his Qld appearance for trainer Graham Dwyer at Marburg from behind the tapes, LUKE JOHN (9) was banished to the trials for an error in transit. Earning the return ticket, his latest trial was a smart hit out behind the returning star CAT KING COLE. Maintaining gait, the tempo should suit.

MISTER REACTOR (6) is afforded no favours from the wide gate but should appreciate a return to the big deck and mobile conditions after coming through the Marburg Goldstrike Series. The 30m impost in the final was a hurdle too high where he was only 5m in arrears and he can bounce back.

ROCKNROLL TIMES (3) was looking to take them all the way last start from gate 6 where he was speared off the arm but collared in the closing stages when 3rd. He can find the poles first and have the options thereafter.

CHAINLINC (8) will be relying on some factors in his favour as he looks in danger of being snookered in the run. Powering over the top at Redcliffe two starts back, he was just 5m away behind THE HUMMER last start.

SELECTIONS: LUKE JOHN (9), MISTER REACTOR (6), ROCKNROLL TIMES (3), CHAINLINC (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

Making a statement with a pair of big victories taken in succession here at the mile, SUBSTITOOTH (6) failed at Redcliffe deep in the red before finishing last here back at the mile. Changing barns since that last run, he joins the in-form Donny Smith yard and if recreating his 53.2 win from the front from this gate claimed just four runs back, they will have trouble stopping him.

MI FURIOSO TORO (9) was asked to hang tough when parked last start and after the tough trip faded over the closing stages. Working hard over the 2200 stand at Marburg the start prior, if he can lob a handy spot and be saved for one shot, he has the speed to issue the challenge.

GOLDIES A DELIGHT (5) eased from gate 7 over the mile last start and was making some nice metres when 6m astern of MADRIGAL. Beaten a similar margin the start prior, she can be thereabouts.

IDEAL TIGER (1) was beaten by the outside front line gate at Marburg last start, retreating before making some late metres to grab 3rd. With a soft trip, he can position to feature here.

SELECTIONS: SUBSTITOOTH (6), MI FURIOSO TORO (9), GOLDIES A DELIGHT (5), IDEAL TIGER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SUBSTITOOTH (6) to win

RACE THREE

At his first start for the new stable last start, BORSELLINO (3) was taken back over the mile and was still last at the 400. Wide as they swung for home, he really attacked the line with power to grab 3rd behind CARTER GRANT. That was his first run off a freshen and he can settle handy to capitalise.

FRAYA (10) was taken South for a NSW Oaks campaign where she was down the lien in the qualifying heat behind KAHLUA FLYBYE. A winner at both prior starts to earn the trip, she was game when sitting parked and claiming a neck margin two starts back and fresh up here can challenge.

MACARENA MADI (1) has had two starts since joining the Grimsey stable and drawn tough gates on both occasions. Chasing behind subsequent winner BRONSKI DELIGHT last start, the gate is a big asset.

MULLUM RUBY (8) will likely be tucked away from this alley and be awaiting some gaps to arrive. Holding 3rd in the APG Bullion Final last start behind MISS FROUFROU, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: BORSELLINO (3), FRAYA (10), MACARENA MADI (1), MULLUM RUBY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BORSELLINO (3) to win

RACE FOUR

A tricky and muddling set up presents here where there should be some solid speed out of the machine and sustained tempo. Last start winner NAVAGIO (5) can ease out of that battle and be ready to swoop, a move that was successful last start from outside the second line.

ITS BACK PAGE NEWS (3) forced the issue from gate 4 last start to get to the front over the 2138m trip and from the front was able to see it out with a narrow margin to spare. Wilting badly last start at Redcliffe from the front, she can inject the tempo here and be trying to grip on.

NO DOUBT (9) took the inside runs at Redcliffe last time out when finishing strongly for the silver behind PLAYA BLANCA. 3rd to OUR ACTION MAN two starts back after some early work, he can be chiming in.

LORD OF MISRULE (4) was closing out smartly here three starts back when grabbing the silver behind ITS BACK PAGE NEWS when just a half-neck away. Tempo aids his hopes to descend.

SELECTIONS: NAVAGIO (5), ITS BACK PAGE NEWS (3), NO DOUBT (9), LORD OF MISRULE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: NAVAGIO (5) to win

RACE FIVE

Drawn no closer than gate 5 at his past seven starts, TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC (3) faced the outside second line last start where he was back in the pack and against the tempo as WISPER A SECRET claimed a big win. With the chance to be closer to the action, he can turn it around.

CHEER LEADER (8) will be fresh up since a tilt at the NSW oaks where she faced a wide gate and taken back early could not get into the fight late behind SOHO SERAPHINE. That was just her second start of the season and while she is undoubtedly the class runner, fresh up from this alley is a worry.

BRILLIANT ART (1) was closing out smartly last time out when 4m from WONDERWOMAN JUJON. Crossed from gate 1 at Redcliffe two starts back, she can tuck in behind and await the gaps.

LAST TIME JOE (10) returns from a freshen after his last appearance was a narrow 2nd at Redcliffe behind HUNK OF SPUNK when beaten a head. The gate does him no favours here.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC (3), CHEER LEADER (1), BRILLIANT ART (1), LAST TIME JOE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC (3) to win

RACE SIX

Placed in 3 of his past 4 starts including a 2nd over this trip last start, JAY TEE TYRON (3) has the gate to get forward to find a prominent spot. Best of the chasers behind the talented HOLD ONTO YA BLING in that 2nd, he gets the opportunity to capitalise.

EXCITING TIMES (8) was a winner here three starts back when sent forward from gate 6 to take control and from the front pulled clear to a 9m margin. Trying to make closing ground behind ALTA MAGACIAN at her next start, she will need a slice of luck but can break free to challenge.

CARTER GRANT (10) was a beaten fav three starts back when resuming from a spell at Redcliffe, finishing 2m from the winner. Too strong in front at his next start, he can make a closing raid.

GRIGORA (1) was resuming from a spell last start when finding the pocket trail from gate 2 and then darting up the passing lane for 2nd to RISKY BUZINESS. He has podium claims again from this alley.

SELECTIONS: JAY TEE TYRON (3), EXCITING TIMES (8), CARTER GRANT (10), GRIGORA (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

Still chasing what is proving an elusive win now that she is a 3YO, WATERLINE (6) has been consistent in her career, with a top-three in 7 of her 10 starts. Forced to cut the breeze last start and holding on for a fighting 3rd behind HOLD ONTO YA BLING, the gate is awkward, but she looks up to this level of opposition.

ASTROPHILIA (8) grabbed a 2nd here three starts back along the passing lane when under 3m from BALERIE VERDE. Banished to the trials at her next start, she went to Narrabri last start and had superior closing speed to descend and break the maiden tag. She will be probing to challenge.

CHAKANA (1) opened her account last start when pulling clear to a big 23m margin on the grass at Kilcoy. With the benefit of the gate, she can position to gain a podium finish.

BAHAMAS MISS (5) comes out of the 3YO APG Bullion Series where she was under 3m from subsequent winner MISS FROUFROU in the heats. Despite the tricky gate she can feature.

SELECTIONS: WATERLINE (6), ASTROPHILIA (8), CHAKANA (1), BAHAMAS MISS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: WATERLINE (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

Continuing to race in consistent manner from bad gates, HESLUVABLE (7) cops another stinker out in 7 but might have found the right opponents to overcome the outside paint. Working hard in the run outside the leader last start when holding 3rd, he can press forward here to cash in.

LORD DENZEL (10) started from the second line last time out and could not go when the power went on as he finished at the rear as RISKY BUZINESS dictated in front. Collared late after setting the tempo at Marburg two starts back, with the right trip in transit, he can be making a challenge.

IM A CLASSY GIRL (4) made an error last start from inside the second line and faced a stand down embargo. Gaining the return ticket at the trials, a return to the front line is a plus here.

SMOKING ZAK (5) was second up from a spell last time out when buried from gate 1 and unable to get into the contest as AWAYOVERNIGHT took the win. Limiting the burn can see him chime in.

SELECTIONS: HESLUVABLE (7), LORD DENZEL (10), IM A CLASSY GIRL (4), SMOKING ZAK (5)
SUGGESTED BET: HESLUVABLE (7) to win
