RACE ONE

The opener looks a wide-open affair with no runner able to offer a win in their last five starts. From the gate, GOLIGHTLY (2) looks to have the hustle to take control early which will then produce the available options. Racing well without much luck on his side, this looks his chance to make his own.

CAMANCHI WARRIOR (5) faced gate 10 last start and was making good metres in the closing stages when 5m in arrears of FUTURE ASSURED. Runner-up to HY VOLTAGE two starts back after being sent out as the fav, his efforts have been solid without winning. This looks an ideal opportunity to cash in.

TAIRLAW TOLL (10) has upset the barrier gods and lands another tough gate here, having copped a spate of horrid draws since arriving in Qld. Following though early, he can be chiming in.

LIFE LAVROS (6) has a super record here at The Creek and returns for another campaign with the visiting Alchin barn. Fitter after three runs back from almost two years off, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: GOLIGHTLY (2), CAMANCHI WARRIOR (5), TAIRLAW TOLL (10), LIFE LAVROS (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

A drop in grade and the chance to get back behind the start car look to be the ideal catalyst for PORT AU PRINCE (1) to return to winning form. With his three Qld appearances all from behind the tapes where he has not been able to step away, he can use his arm hustle to lead and extend the margin.

MIRACLE MOOSE (8) does not have the best numbers net to his name since arriving in Qld, but in those runs, not a lot has been in his favour. Sectionally sound in a few of those efforts, he lands the gate to follow the speed and be ready to offer some form of challenge in the stretch.

DAZZLE ME (4) was the best of the chasers last start when getting out of the pack and making late metres when runner-up to SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE. Positioning cheaply can see him chime in.

HY VOLTAGE (9) charged home off speed here two starts back to claim a smart win at $101 and then last week was a beaten fav when setting the tempo. Settling in the running line, he is a place hope.

SELECTIONS: PORT AU PRINCE (1), MIRACLE MOOSE (8), DAZZLE ME (4), HY VOLTAGE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 4-8-9 / 4-8-9-10

RACE THREE

The second of the two Band 4-2 events and this one is a much stronger division across the board. Faced with the 10m tape last week, MACH DA VINCI (10) loomed ominously at the top of the stretch but could not finish them off. Runner-up to BLACKSADANCE three starts back, a drop back to this grade can see him bounce back to winning form.

SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (7) pressed on from gate 5 here last week and eventually worked to the front with 900m to travel and once in control, powered clear to an impressive 13m margin in slick time. Game in defeat when parked the start prior, the gate makes it a tough ask, but his will fight.

WARFARE (2) has been runner-up at his past three in succession, the latest from a 20m impost when just 2m from L L COOL J. Beaten a neck two runs back, he can look to settle handy to chime in.

LORD ZARIAS (5) is the first emergency for the Flashing Red but will be a threat if taking his place in this line up. Chasing a hat-trick last start when 3m from the winner in a new track record for the 2138 stand, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: MACH DA VINCI (10), SUMOMENTSOMEWHERE (7), WARFARE (2), LORD ZARIAS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MACH DA VINCI (10) to win

RACE FOUR

A newcomer to the Shawn Grimsey stable, MAJIC MOMENT (1) is no stranger to The Creek, having won two of her three appearances on this deck late last season. A winner when first up from a spell four runs back, she has good speed out of the machine and from the gate gets a chance to capitalise.

ALWAYSBME (8) was beaten by gate 7 last start but still produced a sectionally impressive effort when midfield behind RED RIGHT HAND. Claiming a mare’s qualifier from gate 10 two starts back when owning superior closing speed, she will be stalking the actions here awaiting the gaps.

COME SAY HI (10) was first up this Winter trip here last week when pressing forward from gate 4 to take control and from the front was only collared in the last stride. The gate makes it a tougher ask.

MISS MUCHO (9) has been a model of consistency in recent starts, placed in six of her past seven. Eased to find position, she closed smartly last start behind FUTURE ASSURED and can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: MAJIC MOMENT (1), ALWAYSBME (8), COME SAY HI (10), MISS MUCHO (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJIC MOMENT (1) to win

RACE FIVE

Runner-up at his past two starts as he chases his first win of the season, DANGERZONE (9) looks to have found the conditions for the breakthrough. Buried away from inside the second line last start when just a neck from TIMS A TROOPER, the start prior he was beaten a half-neck. This looks his.

CLASSIE WASHINGTON (7) finds something else to work against him, this time the outside paint. Placed at four of his past five as he keeps bumping into one a little better, in his past three starts he has been in contests won by TIMS A TROOPER, LEAP TO FAME and FUTURE ASSURED. He is still in it.

CHAMONIX (1) was a half-neck from the winner last time out in a Trot Rods event which followed defeat from outside the second line. He has the gate to be in the mix.

REASON TO BE (2) eased to the inside from a wide second line gate last time out when looking for shortcuts and was under 5m from the winner. With early hustle, he can find position to feature.

SELECTIONS: DANGERZONE (9), CLASSIE WASHINGTON (7), CHAMONIX (1), REASON TO BE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: DANGERZONE (9) to win

RACE SIX

This is the best edition of the Flashing Red ever held and is looks an absolute nightmare to sort the map out with the handicaps and track positioning.  HOT AND TREACHEROUS (11) won third up from a spell with an all the way win and has since trialled in nice style. If he can slingshot across early, he might just be the one they have to stop.

TURN IT UP (15) has classy numbers from the tapes where he has won seven of his 10 appearances. A winner of his last four starts in succession, the last time he missed a placing was 15 starts back when 4th in the Redcliffe Cup off 10m. From the 20m, he will be duking it out when it gets serious.

MANILA PLAYBOY (9) makes his debut from the tapes which is always a query, especially when it is a capacity field of top-class performers and over the 13 furlongs. With a sharp trial to prepare, he is a podium hope.

BIG WHEELS (13) was first up since December here last week over this same trip when saved for the last shot. The wheels were large, and he powered home to a smart win. With added fitness, he will be trying to weave a passage.

SELECTIONS: HOT AND TREACHEROUS (11), TURN IT UP (15), MANILA PLAYBOY (9), BIG WHEELS (13)
SUGGESTED BET:  HOT AND TREACHEROUS (11) to win

RACE SEVEN

Returning for his first 4YO appearance here three weeks back, LEAP TO FAME (2) was super with a class record at the 2138 trip, scoring with 6m to spare. Given a trial since that victory where he was clinical with a sub 27 closing split unextended, he can chalk up the baker’s dozen of AP wins here.

SPEAK THE TRUTH (3) has been super in two runs back from a long spell and lines up chasing a hat-trick of victories. Resuming with a stylish win from gate 7 when dominating in tough style with a 6m margin, he held on for an all the way win at Menangle second up and is the only danger.

ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (1) is never far from the action and has placed at his past three in succession. With early hustle, he can release for the trail and with the poles the place to be, grab a minor.

TIMS A TROOPER (10) made the most of gate 2 last start to claim a qualifying victory after finding the front and holding on for a neck margin. He can be closing out to chase a podium finish.

SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (2), SPEAK THE TRUTH (3), ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (1), TIMS A TROOPER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2 / 3 / 1-4-8-10

RACE EIGHT

Arguably one of the best mare’s qualifier’s seen here at The Creek, mapping and tempo will be key but look equally hard to pinpoint at the same time. SOHO RHAPSODY (6) arrives back in Qld for Rickie Alchin off the back of a last start 2nd at Menangle when beaten a half-head. The gate hurts, but she might just find the edge.

PRINCESS LEIA (4) joins the Darrel Graham yard after four wins in 10 starts for Jason Grimson at Menangle. Powering up to take control from gate 9 two starts back, she was able to hold on for a 2m margin. Fading last start as the fav, she can get forward to stake her claim.

RACY ROXY (7) is given no favours from the car park draw but has been good in both runs back from a spell, the latest when 5m from ALTA REVLERY. Chasing home behind CAT KING COLE when resuming, she is a podium hope.

BRILLIANT ART (1) will need to step up another rung for this contest but gains the benefit of the inside alley. Claiming successive wins after a stable change, she was luckless last start.

SELECTIONS: SOHO RHAPSODY (6), PRINCESS LEIA (4), RACY ROXY (7), BRILLIANT ART (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SOHO RHAPSODY (6) to win

RACE NINE

Continuing a run of consistent form, WONDERWOMAN JUJON (1) has contested short course Trot Rod events in the past two starts. A winner up the passing lane at her first attempt, she was then luckless from a wide gate second up. Back to the mile trip, she has the arm hustle to capitalise.

BLING THE LUCK (9) is chasing down a hat-trick after successive wins here at the mile. Finding the 1x1 trail from gate 5 two starts back, she owned the closing power to claim a 2m margin. Firing out to take them all the way last start, she will be relying on some tempo to issue a challenge.

ALEXIA ROSE (3) was a winner three starts back where she was able to lead throughout from gate 1 at Redcliffe. Runner-up in both runs since that victory, she can find a forward spot to feature.

SAILOR GIRL (10) returns to Qld for NSW visiting trainer Scott Hewitt, chasing down a hat-trick of victories. Overcoming a wide gate at Bathurst last start, she can be making late metres to chime in.

SELECTIONS: WONDERWOMAN JUJON (1), BLING THE LUCK (9), ALEXIA ROSE (3), SAILOR GIRL (10)
SUGGESTED BET: WONDERWOMAN JUJON (1) to win

RACE TEN

Breaking through for his first Qld victory here two starts back, CALL ME TROUBLE (8) started from this same tape when settled in the running line and finishing too powerfully for his rivals. Sent forward over the mobile last start, a return to the tapes and a strong tempo looks in his favour.

INDEFENSIBLE (1) started from the 10m tape last time out and was able to find the pocket trail when 8m in arrears of CALL ME TROUBLE. Fading after leading them up two starts back, the 2138 trip from the front tape looks in his favour to challenge.

ESCAPE THE PACE (7) has had three starts since arriving from NZ, making errors in a pair of mobile start appearances, and winning the Bulli Cup from the tapes. A nine-time winner, she has claims.

FUNNY FACE (2) is first up for Jack Butler after crossing the Tasman and comes into this contest with no public appearance. A seven-time winner in NZ, the front tape keeps him under watch.

SELECTIONS: CALL ME TROUBLE (8), INDEFENSIBLE (1), ESCAPE THE PACE (7), FUNNY FACE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: CALL ME TROUBLE (8) to win

RACE ELEVEN

The Final of the Marburg to Albion Series that throws up the form anomaly to dissect that shows six runners in the field have not tasted victory here at The Creek. STANDANDELIVER (9) is in that stat group with two minors in six starts. A beaten fav in the heat from the second line when wide over the last lap, he is up to the task here.

YANKEE C J (3) claimed a tidy 2m margin to take his heat after being exposed and doing some work in the run. Shuffled back and unable to get into it two starts back behind AARDIES FLASH, he closed hard when a half-neck away three starts back and can be issuing a challenge.

OCTOBER RACKETEER (1) started from inside the second line in his heat when chasing home behind YANKEE C J. Placed in four of his past six, he has the gate to be in the mix.

MI FURIOSO TORO (10) was wide over the last lap in his heat from outside the second line to scrape into the final. He brings the best record on this deck to the battle and can be making a closing raid.

SELECTIONS: STANDANDELIVER (9), YANKEE C J (3), OCTOBER RACKETEER (1), MI FURIOSO TORO (10)
SUGGESTED BET: STANDANDELIVER (9) to win
