RACE ONE

Racing in top form but not really receiving the reward for his efforts, MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (4) was rattling home in the closing stages here last week when runner-up to CHEER LEADER. Hitting the line smartly three runs back behind BETTOR TO BE TRICKY, he can descend on them here.

LANOCH BOY (9) overcame gate 6 here tow starts back when charging home in the closing stages to sweep on by to an 8m margin. Buried in the run last start in a tidy effort behind the airborne RED RIGHT HAND, he can follow through early to settle handy enough to issue the challenge.

MORESCO (2) has not had much in her favour in recent attempts and looks to get an easier time from this alley. With good early hustle, she can be an improver on some lean numerical form.

BONNIES DANCE (3) has placed in both runs back from a spell, tackling the hamper scamper 947m at Redcliffe in both appearances. Only 2m away last start, back to a traditional format, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (4), LANOCH BOY (9), MORESCO (2), BONNIES DANCE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MIDNIGHT SOMEWHERE (4) to win

RACE TWO

A tricky contest to dissect here with not a great deal of arm hustle off the front. Facing tougher opposition in recent appearances, MAGICAL MAYA (6) might just be able to overcome the wide gate. Snagged out the back from wide gates at her past two in mare’s company, can she open her 2023 account.

CHEETAH LODGE (9) was slow out of the machine last start and was soon a long way off them. Trying to make a closing raid as RED RIGHT HAND arrived, he should take good benefit from the run where he was first up in six weeks. With the right early trail, he can be issuing a closing challenge here.

LAST TIME JOE (8) has hit the board in eight of 10 this season, the latest when grabbing the bronze behind the smart 3YO WISPER A SECRET. Beaten a blister the start prior, he will be probing for openings.

TULHURST WRITER (5) was taken back last start at Redcliffe and from back in the pack was never a factor thereafter as it was controlled in front. He can get closer here to grab some minor money.

SELECTIONS: MAGICAL MAYA (6), CHEETAH LODGE (9), LAST TIME JOE (8), TULHURST WRITER (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

MISS BAY KING COLE (1)
was beaten by a wide gate last start and was not given any added favours when striking some trouble in the run as ALTA MAGACIAN scored in slick time. A winner in her only two previous Qld appearances, she lands the gate to gain redemption.

STANDANDELIVER (9) started from this gate last Saturday in the Marburg to Albion Final where he was able to be steered in behind the leader and then shoot the passing lane gap to score. Relying on some tempo, he can be ready to charge home to challenge.

MAJOR HOLIDAY (10) was taken back from gate 7 last start to settle on the poles and when a gap opened, he was attacking the line with gusto to grab a half-neck victory. He can close out again.

VANITY BAY (3) blitzed The Triangle two starts back to claim the 2023 fastest Trot Rods time. 8m from the winner MISS EXCLUSIVE last start, he has the gate to fire some early bullets here.

SELECTIONS: MISS BAY KING COLE (1), STANDANDELIVER (9), MAJOR HOLIDAY (10), VANITY BAY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS BAY KING COLE (1) to win

RACE FOUR

With 12-months elapsing since his last victory, the recent efforts of BORSELLINO (2) suggest that drought may be about to break. Snagged back from gate 6 three runs back, he was luckless yet just 3m from the winner and then last start rocketed home behind GOLDEN FIRE. The gate is a big help.

ROCK HAMMER (10) secured an economical trail trip last week and when angled to the outside loomed strongly to hit the front, only to be collared in the last strides. Attacking the line smartly from deep field the start prior when retreating from gate 7, the right trip can see him challenge.

CHEDDAR MADE BETA (6) has been hitting some nice areas in recent starts, coming into this off a last start Redcliffe victory. Sent out fav in that battle when finishing best, he can feature again.

PEPPA BLISS (7) is given no favours from gate 7 but might find this contest a shade easier than her last appearance when 2m from the winner TORQUE TO THE MUSIC. She is a podium chance here.

SELECTIONS: BORSELLINO (2), ROCK HAMMER (10), CHEDDAR MADE BETA (6), PEPPA BLISS (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

This is a slick race for a Friday graded contest, with some strong form lines and potential bigger races ahead for some in this. ALTA MAGACIAN (10) was sent to sit parked from gate 4 last start in grinding out a career PB in 1.53.7. Gunned down when beaten a neck two back, he can defy the gate.

CHEER LEADER (5) was beaten by a wide gate in a handy 3YO contest two starts back when resuming off a let up as QUEENSLANDER took the prize. Releasing for the trail from gate 1 last start, she had the closing speed to arrive for her first win of the season and can throw it down again here.

TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (9) was put into the contest at the bell last start when making a three-wide move and was able to prove too strong. With a cart home, he can feature again.

SUBSTITOOTH (1) was back in winning form at Redcliffe last start when sent forward off the second line to sit parked and grind out a tough win. Back to town, he has the gate to set the tempo.

SELECTIONS: ALTA MAGACIAN (10), CHEER LEADER (5), TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (9), SUBSTITOOTH (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ALTA MAGACIAN (10) to win

RACE SIX

With some bigger features on the horizon for the talented 3YO ROCKNROLL HAMMER (1), he can make his first Qld appearance a winning one after snaring the ace. With effortless wins in a pair of well-spaced runs spaced since finishing 3rd in the NSW Derby Final, he gets every chance here.

BETTERTHANAROCKET (8) lands the perfect gate to look to exploit any vulnerabilities that the 1 may present. With electric change up speed when saved for one run, he will be coiled and ready to strike and will find this much more suitable after meeting much tougher Saturday night opposition of late.

FREDDY SINGH (5) was hitting the line in nice order wide off the track behind TIMS A TROOPER after facing gate 12 and followed that with a tough 3rd from gate 7. The improved gate is a plus.

DARK TERROR (10) lines up here for the visiting Ben Settree barn and will be third up from a break. Competing through the Western Championships in both return runs, he can be chiming in here.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL HAMMER (1), BETTERTHANAROCKET (8), FREDDY SINGH (5), DARK TERROR (10)
SUGGESTED BET:  Exotics 1-8 / 1-8 / 3-5-6-10

RACE SEVEN

Striking trouble from a wide gate in the NSW Derby, ARODA (9) returned to Qld and was given a spell. Returning in a Trot Rods event and setting what was then a Series leading time, he was a game 2nd in that same format second up. Despite the second line, he has the class to arrive.

WHATA JOURNEY (1) took cover from this same gate last start and held on to claim 3rd behind TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC. Taking benefit out of that run where she was resuming form a spell, she lands the gate to chase a repeat and issue the challenge.

LULU MAE (3) has been runner-up in both appearances since arriving in Qld, the latest when taking control from this same gate and crossing WHAT JOURNEY from 1. The map looks similar again here.

JAKKI MUN (4) struck trouble last start after pressing on to the front and his chances expired after starting as the fav. Strong to the line for 2nd two runs back behind CARTER GRANT, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: ARODA (9), WHATA JOURNEY (1), LULU MAE (3), JAKKI MUN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ARODA (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

Placed in a pair of Trot Rod contests with his appearances well-spaced, ARKIN WICKED (3) was back to a traditional format last week when setting the tempo from gate 2 at the mile. With a dialled-uptempo, he was 3m from the winner GOLDEN FIRE and finds conditions to go one better here.

ALWAYS SMOKIN (9) is a 3YO Always B Miki gelding that arrives from the South Island of NZ as a four-start maiden. Last raced in his homeland back in February, he opened the pipes with a nice piece of work at the trials here at The Creek and can follow through early to challenge.

KEAYANG TARA (1) was runner-up from gate 7 last start in a slightly easier contest when closing out strongly to be just a half-head away. Placed in seven of her past eight, she can add another here.

WHERES OUR MONEY (6) will strip fitter from his latest offering where he was first up from a break and asked to hang tough outside the leader in slick time. The wide gate makes it a tough ask again.

SELECTIONS: ARKIN WICKED (3), ALWAYS SMOKIN (9), KEAYANG TARA (1), WHERES OUR MONEY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ARKIN WICKED (3) to win`

RACE NINE

Runner-up at her first appearance in Aus THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (1) was game in defeat after rolling forward from gate 6 to sit parked and fight on to hold the silver behind MOS LONDON. Never suited from gate 7 and caught on a limb last week behind GOLDEN FIRE, she looks to get every chance here.

BADLANDER (8) faced the outside second line last start in the Breeders Final and from deep field was making some nice metres in the closing stages to be 7m from the winner QUIK CHANGE. A smart winner two starts back from outside the second line, he will be stalking the speed here.

ELLIS STREET (2) knows his way to the second-place enclosure, finishing the bridesmaid on six occasions this season. Forced to work hard in many of those, he does not shirk the task and will be thereabouts.

QUIK CHANGE (6) was runner-up two starts back when hitting the line in smart fashion at Redcliffe and franked that effort with victory in the 2YO Breeders Classic last start. The gate hurts here.

SELECTIONS: THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (1), BADLANDER (8), ELLIS STREET (2), QUIK CHANGE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: THE VICAR OF DIBLEY (1) to win

RACE TEN

Asked to step up to the 2138 last start and sent to the post as fav, WATERLINE (9) had to settle for a midfield return after being caught wide from gate 6. Just 4m from MISS BAY KING COLE the start prior, the second line is a tricky ask, but she might just have found her chance to claim a 2023 win.

SPORTY AZZ (1) has been campaigning at Redcliffe at his past five attempts where four of those have been from the second line, grabbing a cheque once. His past two appearances here at HQ were back in March where he placed on both occasions and from the improved gate, he can issue a challenge.

ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (6) has the wide gate to negotiate but has placed in two of his past three in this grade. Looking for shortcuts and needing space sooner last start, he has podium claims.

RANCHO MAN (8) grabbed another minor last start when holding on for the bronze at Redcliffe as DIEGO DELGADO finished best. Tucked away on the poles, he will be probing for a way clear.

SELECTIONS: WATERLINE (9), SPORTY AZZ (1), ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (6), RANCHO MAN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WATERLINE (9) to win

RACE ELEVEN

Out the gate in the markets before hie debut here last week, WATCH THE GREAT ONE (4) was positioned near the rear after easing away from the inside second line to find position. Making an error when ready to move wider, a return to the front line looks a huge help and he can be sharper.

HASTY BID (6) was second up from a spell at his latest appearance where he found the 1x1 trail from outside the second line before making a nice closing raid to grab the silver behind INTO THE MYSTIC. The gate stings but with the added fitness, he again looms as a challenger.

JACKSON TOWN (3) is a Huntsville 3YO on debut for Rickie Alchin out of the former smart race mare Spitfire Rose. Trialling nicely behind ALWYS SMOKIN that will go around in race 8, that should give a lead.

CAPTIVANTE (2) found the pocket trail last week and when angled to open space was able to hold on for the bronze. Still with a bit to learn, she can be handy enough to grab another minor.

SELECTIONS: WATCH THE GREAT ONE (4), HASTY BID (6), JACKSON TOWN (3), CAPTIVANTE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WATCH THE GREAT ONE (4) to win
