RACE ONE

Still a maiden forced to take on experienced rivals, CONNIES PRESIDENT (1) might just secure the right conditions to open her account. Strong to the line last start when shaking free of a pocket spot and finishing 4m from the winner, she can be close enough to strike.

SHEZA CHANCE (9) is an enigmatic performer and was up to her old tricks last start when second up from a spell. Looming strongly into the contest, she jumped it off and then had to be pulled up when unable to return to a trot. A slick first up winner, in the small field, she is a huge threat if on song.

TROYTHETROTTER (3) has been runner-up at his past two starts, the latest when finding the trail from the 10m tape and finishing 2m from the winner YSMIR. He is getting close to a breakthrough.

GLENEAGLE REIGN (4) has developed a handy record in a short amount of time, missing the money just once. Resuming from a spell here, he claimed a last start victory and stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: CONNIES PRESIDENT (1), SHEZA CHANCE (9), TROYTHETROTTER (3), GLENEAGLE REIGN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CONNIES PRESIDENT (1) win/place

RACE TWO

Runner-up at her past two starts, a safe beginning can see EN MASSE (3) in the right position to open her account. Releasing last start after a safe getaway, she was then 4m from the winner SHEZA CHANCE after losing momentum off the 400. 6m from GUS two back, she can take this.

KENETURIO (5) gets behind the tapes for the first time this season and does have the 10m to negotiate. Collared in the last stride by IM A GYPSY QUEEN last start, she was strong to the line when second up behind the smart HIDE AND SEEK. With the right trip, she can issue a challenge.

THE REAPER (11) showed the benefit of getting closer to the action last week when sitting parked from the 10m and grafting out the win. It will be tougher back to 30m, but he is in the mix again.

AURORA (6) was not too far from the winner THE REAPER last start after stepping safely and finding the pocket trail. 15 months since her last victory, settling handy in this line up can see her feature.

SELECTIONS: EN MASSE (3), KENETURIO (5), THE REAPER (11), AURORA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: EN MASSE (3) to win

RACE THREE

Last taking on this trip four runs back when starting from this same impost, NORTIE NORTIE (5) was produced at the right time and was able to power over the top to claim a 6m margin when returning off a freshen. Not far away at his next two, put a line through his latest when striking trouble and pencil him in here.

REGAL APPOINTMENT (1) lost some momentum last week when the leading pair folded the tents at the 400 after a brutal first 500m. Squeezing off the inside he was able to hold on for the bronze behind JACCKA WATCH. With two wins at the 13 furlongs and the inside lane, he can challenge.

IM THE COMMANDO (2) was safely away here last week and engaged in a savage early duel that saw the fastest ever lead time for a 2138m SS Trot on this deck. Wilting under the heat, with an easier time in this, he can bounce back.

ALDEBARAN MISTY (7) loomed up down the back stretch here last week at the 2138 to put the leader away but then was grabbed on the line by JACCKA WATCH. She can feature again.

SELECTIONS: NORTIE NORTIE (5), REGAL APPOINTMENT (1), IM THE COMMANDO (2), ALDEBARAN MISTY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: NORTIE NORTIE (5) to win

RACE FOUR

An open contest looms here where the barrier might be all the difference for GLENROCK (2) to add another win to her tally. Spearing out from gate 5 to lead at Redcliffe last start, she faded out, which followed a second up effort when not suited at the middle trip. From the front, she gets a chance.

POM PAY (6) is afforded no favours from the wide gate, but she has been in nice touch this Qld campaign. A winner two starts back when overcoming a second line gate to descend on them in the closing stages, she was a beaten fav last time on The Triangle. Despite the gate, she can challenge.

BORDERLINE (3) eased to find the 1x1 trail last time out at Redcliffe and had the closing speed to arrive on the wire. Building towards that win, she is still a maiden here on the big deck, but this is well within reach.

SHEZ GOT BLING (9) should appreciate a return to the mile after her past two have been over the 2138 trip. Down the line behind BOLD MEDLEY JUJON last start, she can trail through to feature.

SELECTIONS: GLENROCK (2), POM PAY (6), BORDERLINE (3), SHEZ GOT BLING (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GLENROCK (2) to win

RACE FIVE

Fired off the arm from the ace here last week, CUSTOM NIKE (9) was freewheeling out in front and tried to open them up with a 27.7 third panel. Feeling the pinch at the 300, she held on for the bronze as JUSTA DRAGON swept by to score. Despite the second line, she is up to arriving.

BRILLIANT ART (8) will be requiring a slice of luck at some stage as he looks in danger of being snookered in the run. Trying to hold them out last start in a mare’s qualifier, she was collared in the closing stages to be 8m from SOHO RHAPSODY. Finding a gap, she can challenge.

MULLUM RUBY (4) held the pocket trail last week after easing across from this same gate and was best of the chasers for 3rd behind the stretch duel claimed by SURE THING CAPTAIN. She is right in this.

NAKULA (6) started form inside the second line last time out when grabbing 2nd and was forced to ease off the fence prior to the turn behind a tiring leader. The wider gate makes it tougher here.

SELECTIONS: CUSTOM NIKE (9), BRILLIANT ART (8), MULLUM RUBY (4), NAKULA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CUSTOM NIKE (9) to win

RACE SIX

If able to replicate his first up Qld performance where it took a special effort to be defeated, THE BEAUDEN BLUES (11) should just be wining this. Trying to bust the open with a sub 27 third panel, the talented SURE THING CAPTAIN angled back to the passing lane to grab the prize by a pimple. He looks a classy conveyance himself.

MY CRACKLING ROSIE (10) will be having her first run beyond the sprint trip and will be second up from a spell. Failing first up behind CHEER LEADER, she went back to the trials and was much sharper, closing out in nice order. The gate stings but she can grab some minor money.

DINOSAURUS REX (7) has been in nice touch since arriving back in Qld for his winter visit, running with three wins and a last start 2nd from his past five. Just a neck away last time, he takes his first look at Qld HQ.

MYDADSAID (3) was not too far from ALTA MAGACIAN when grabbing the silver fist up and then last week the wide gate saw him snag back early to finish midfield. He is right up to the task here.

SELECTIONS: THE BEAUDEN BLUES (11), MY CRACKLING ROSIE (10), DINOSAURUS REX (7), MYDADSAID (3)
SUGGESTED BET:  Exotics 11 / 3-7-10 / 1-3-7-10

RACE SEVEN

Making his first Aus appearance at Menangle last Tuesday, NEPTUNE (5) led them up but had to settle for the bronze in a 52.5 mile. The well-bred colt arrived from NZ as a two-time winner and had trialled smartly for his first outing. Trucked North after the first up effort, he can strike.

BORELLA (1) was slow to muster early hustle here last week when resuming from a spell and subsequently was forced to sit parked over this same trip. Fading out as BOLD MEDLEY JUJON took the prize, he lands the gate to search for redemption.

GO THE RED (4) steps out beyond the sprint trip for the first time but has won two of his three here on the big deck. A tough 2nd on The Triangle last start when second up from a spell, he can chime in.

ODINS BLACK CROWS (3) fired out from gate 1 last start and was looking to dictate in front but could not see it out when swamped in the stretch. A winner at his only attempt over this trip, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: NEPTUNE (5), BORELLA (1), GO THE RED (4), ODINS BLACK CROWS (3)
SUGGESTED BET: NEPTUNE (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

Returning form a spell here last week, the first up effort from SURE THING CAPTAIN (4) was as classy a resuming win that you will see. From gate 10, he was leading the one wide line at the bell but kept well back from the leader. With plenty of work to do as THE BEAUDEN BLUES tried to break them open with a sub 27 third panel, he chased and chased gamely to arrive and can go on with it here.

SIR RICHARD LEE (3) is one of a pair of Robbie Morris trained horses chasing a hat-trick of victories on today’s card. Firing out to take control from gate 2 here last week, he was able to claim a career PB in taking the half-neck margin. Overcoming the second line two runs back, the gate helps.

FREDDY SINGH (6) was midfield last start after rolling forward from gate 5 to sit parked and do the work behind ROCKNROLL HAMMER. The gate makes it a tough ask once again.

ARMA RENEGADE (8) was first up in Qld last start when taken to Redcliffe and able to pounce on the lead early and see it out in smart time round The Triangle. With a smart career record, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SURE THING CAPTAIN (4), SIR RICHARD LEE (3), FREDDY SINGH (6), ARMA RENEGADE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SURE THING CAPTAIN (4) to win

RACE NINE

Making his Qld debut with an effortless victory when cruising across from gate 5, AARDIES FLASH (1) was sent to the post as fav second up against his own age from this same gate. Setting the tempo, he was out of bullets in the stretch and had to settle for the bronze. He can gain redemption.

VAN BASTEN (8) has been runner-up in both appearances here at The Creek, the latest when taking the closing shot and finishing a half-head from the winner. Beaten that same margin at his first outing behind the handy QUEENSLANDER, he looks set to stalk the speed again, ready to pounce.

FREE THINKER (3) faced a wide gate and was required to do his share of work last time out when facing gate 6 and finishing 10m from QUEENSLANDER. With good arm hustle, he can take an early shot.

NO DRAMAS (4) arrives in Qld to join the Robbie Morris stable and brings a slick record of four wins in six starts. A feature race Menangle winner last start, this will be a solid test first up.

SELECTIONS: AARDIES FLASH (1), VAN BASTEN (8), FREE THINKER (3), NO DRAMAS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: AARDIES FLASH (1) to win

RACE TEN

Still chasing an elusive drought breaking victory, KASH US BACK (10) might get the chance to open the clouds. Attacking the line here last week to grab the bronze and finish within a head of the winner, he should be tucked in behind the speed awaiting for the gap to take his shot.

DESPONDENT (2) started from inside the second line last start and struck trouble that ended any chances he may have held. Down the line in a capacity field standing start at his previous appearance, his last run in this grade was three back when a fast-finishing 2nd. He can throw it down.

BETTOR JIGGLE (10) resumes from a spell without the benefit of a public trial, so improvement off this should be expected. Beaten by a wide gate last start behind the smart UPTOWN BEACHGIRL, he can be joining in.

APHORISM (7) should appreciate a return to veteran’s company after tackling some tough battles in recent starts, the latest when asked to sit parked outside PORT AU PRINCE.

SELECTIONS: KASH US BACK (10), DESPONDENT (2), BETTOR JIGGLE (10), APHORISM (7)
SUGGESTED BET: KASH US BACK (10) to win
