RACE ONE

A tricky 2138 event to open the card where despite coming up with the wide gate, MR MCLAREN (6) might have their measure. Beaten by the second line last start against the tempo, he was fighting deep into the stretch two back when runner-up to CANTFINDABETTORMAN. He can press ahead.

ART TUTOR (9) takes his first look at The Creek, arriving with a last start 2nd behind TEAFGAN BANNER over the 2300 at Menangle. Eased into the running line from gate 6 in that contest before making a closing raid, he can follow through to find position before issuing a challenge.

TERRYRAMA (3) was first up in Qld last start when tackling the mile where he was not too far from CAPTAIN SHUFFLES. Better suited over a trip, the gate and 2138 journey look in his favour.

DAZZLE ME (1) was left lamenting last start as the tempo from the front made it near impossible for the chasers. With the chance for a soft pole trip where he likes it, he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: MR MCLAREN (6), ART TUTOR (9), TERRYRAMA (3), DAZZLE ME (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MR MCLAREN (6) to win

RACE THREE

Forming an affinity with this gate, RED RIGHT HAND (9) will wear the 9 for the fourth time from his past six. Winning two of those including a swooping win four starts back, he was not too far away last start from gate 11 at the 2138. Relying on some tempo, he can descend on them.

SIR RICHARD LEE (5) has put together a smart record since arriving in Qld and led them deep into the stretch last start at the middle trip. Beaten a half-neck as FAST TRACKER darted through to score, he has strong speed out of the machine and can get across to throw down another challenge.

FREDDY SINGH (2) was buried from inside the second line last start and making some late meres when 3rd behind LUKE JOHN. With the chance to settle handy, he has podium claims.

THE GROGFATHER (1) transfers into the McCarthy stable off the back of a last start 2nd when 2m astern of ALTA CLASSIC. With his best gate in recent times, he can be closer to the action.

SELECTIONS: RED RIGHT HAND (9), SIR RICHARD LEE (5), FREDDY SINGH (2), THE GROGFATHER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: RED RIGHT HAND (9) to win

RACE FOUR

There will be some factors at play in this trotters sprint but RED CASTLETON (8) maps for the trip he loves, which is tucked away and saved for the closing raid. Charging home at the end of the 2138 last start after easing across their backs, off tempo he can descend on them.

ADELLE (11) has bene super since arriving in Qld, with her latest victory a big effort off 20m in the Redcliffe Cup. Sitting parked two runs back at the 2138 when 3rd to SUGARINSPICE, she was large in victory here three back at this trip. Kept ticking over at the trials, she will throw it down hard.

VAN SANK (4) tackles this race fresh off a last start career PB over the Menangle mile where he fired out to lead throughout from gate 6. With three recent trials, trotting cleanly will see him feature.

SUGARINSPICE (1) loves the mobile conditions and secures the gate to burrow through and set the speed. Taking them all the way at 2138 last start, she placed her previous three and will be gripping on.

SELECTIONS: RED CASTLETON (8), ADELLE (11), VAN SANK (4), SUGARINSPICE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: RED CASTLETON (8) each-way

RACE FIVE

The J C McMullen looks a tactical battle and track position will be keenly sought over the flying mile. The gate looks mighty awkward for AARDIES FLASH (8), but if he can somehow shake free of the poles early, he will clearly be the test. Collared in the last strides of the Redcliffe Derby, he was strong late against tempo last time.

LAST TIME JOE (4) has faced some tough gates in recent starts, the latest when rattling home from deep field after retreating from gate 6. Asked to do it tough at Redcliffe two starts back when runner-up to VAN BASTEN, he can look for handy position to issue the challenge.

HES CHARLIES ANGEL (10) was never in the mix after copping gate 12 in the Rising Sun and settled at the rear. A Melton winner at his final lead-up to his Qld trip, he can bounce back in this grade.

BIG SHADOW (7) fired out from gate 2 and took them all the way here at the mile two starts back and then last start was up the passing lane when runner-up in a 70Final. The gate stings but off tempo he can charge.

SELECTIONS: AARDIES FLASH (8), LAST TIME JOE (4), HES CHARLIES ANGEL (10), BIG SHADOW (7)
SUGGESTED BET: AARDIES FLASH (8) to win

RACE SIX

With the majority of her wins secured when leading, FAIRY TINKABELL (2) has the gate to try for an all the way performance. Beaten by the second line last week, she was sent three-wide from the 1200 in a sound effort over the closing stages. If she can cross, all the options avail for her to arrive.

UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (7) made the most of the tight gate last week when darting across from gate 2 and from the front was able to take them all the way. That followed an eye-catching close out when beaten a half-head behind FIARY TINKABELL. Despite the gate, the fuse can be lit here.

SOHO HISTORIA (3) comes into this first up off a last start victory in the Wagga Mares Championship where she defeated some smart mares. With a Bendigo trial to prepare, she can inject some speed into this contest.

BRAEVIEW KELLY (8) puts forward a strong case as being the best mare currently in Australia with her QEII mare’s mile win five runs back franking that. Placed her past three, the map looks a huge concern here.

SELECTIONS: FAIRY TINKABELL (2), UPTOWN BEACHGIRL (7), SOHO HISTORIA (3), BRAEVIEW KELLY (8)
SUGGESTED BET:  FAIRY TINKABELL (2) each way

RACE SEVEN

The inaugural running of The Hayden where many of these have clashed in recent times through the Queensland Sun or Rising Sun. SPEAK THE TRUTH (10) was the Qld Sun winner with an effort full of starch where he set an age record for the 2138 that only lasted one week. His Rising Sun run was full of merit, and he can overcome the gate.

CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (5) comes into this off a different campaign path but arrives after completing a hat-trick of victories last time out. Claiming a qualifier followed by a B5 contest last week where he has led in both at the mile, he can look to press ahead and throw down his challenge.

DANGERZONE (9) went looking for the short cuts from outside the second line in the Rising Sun as LEAP TO FAME was in a league of his own. Making late ground behind SPEAK THE TRUTH two runs back, he can be joining in here.

HOLD ONTO YA BLING (2) tackled the Rising Sun Consolation last start when making some metres in the closing stages when 5m from FREE THINKER. With early hustle, he can be first to the poles to avail the options thereafter.

SELECTIONS: SPEAK THE TRUTH (10), CAPTAIN SHUFFLES (5), DANGERZONE (9), HOLD ONTO YA BLING (2)
SUGGESTED BET: SPEAK THE TRUTH (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

This race became all the more in intriguing when LEAP TO FAME (6) accepted and then drew the front line for his first crack at FFA company. He dropped jaws after his Patrons Purse victory, then the ease of his Rising Sun win where he ran the last mile of the 2138 trip in sub-1.50, had people questioning is he even better than what we thought. It’s a big question, but he has the answer.

MACH DAN (8) secures a mapping advantage where he can be tucked away and only need to produce in the closing stages. A proven G1 winner, he claimed the Newcastle Mile three runs back to gain a Miracle Mile ticket. Resuming at Melton with an effortless victory, he will be stalking.

SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (10) contests his second Sunshine Sprint, looking to go one better than his runner-up return last year. Runner-up in both the Miracle Mile and Nullarbor earlier in the season, a solid tempo can see him strong late.

BETTERZIPPIT (1) takes his first look at The Creek after both Qld appearances have been at Redcliffe. Claiming the Nullarbor when sent to the front over the 2536 trip, he has a 48.6 Menangle mile to his name from the front and will be taking full advantage of the gate.

SELECTIONS: LEAP TO FAME (6), MACH DAN (8), SPIRIT OF ST LOUIS (10), BETTERZIPPIT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LEAP TO FAME (6) to win

RACE NINE

After three heats were held here 10 days ago for these 2YOs, how much pressure some of these inexperienced 2YO’s can handle will be vital. BRONSKI ZULU (6) faces a tough gate out in 6 yet he took his heat in nice style after finding the pocket trail from gate 4 and then right lined in the stretch finished them off.

SYNCHRONIZER (1) fired out from gate 3 in her heat to find the front and from there was able to finish it off in 27 flat to claim a 7m margin, her overall winning rate the quickest of the three heats. Holding the keys to the contest, she is right in this with all the favours from the draw.

BALBOA ROCK (8) sat parked in his heat at just his second career start and had too much class to claim a 4m margin. He might find himself buried, but if track arrives, he is up to the task.

MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (5) was first up in Qld for the Gemma Hewitt stable when sliding across from gate 6 and fighting for 3rd behind BRONSKI ZULU. Fitter for the run and with a gate improvement, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: BRONSKI ZULU (6), SYNCHRONIZER (1), BALBOA ROCK (8), MY ULTIMATE COSSIE (5),
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TEN

Initially accepting an invite for The Rising Sun, connections opted to hold THE LOST STORM (10) back one week with the main focus on next week’s Derby. Resuming with an effortless win where it was no more than a track workout at Bendigo, he should be putting them way here.

NEPTUNE (9) tackled a lesser event here on Tuesday after missing out in the SE Derby and Rising Sun consolation last Saturday. Dealing with a mid-week line up as you would expect when closing in 55.1 with a 15m margin, back to 3YO company, he can put in the type of effort required to force his way into the Qld Derby field.

SWEETHEART BART (3) has tackled the Redcliffe and South East Derby’s in his past three starts, his latest effort when buried in the run as ON DEADLINE arrived. In this line up he has podium claims.

TORQUE LIKE MOTION (1) was in the South East Oaks last week where she eased from gate 6 to find the poles and look for short cuts. Strong to the line when 6m from JEWEL MELODY, the improved gate is a huge asset.

SELECTIONS: THE LOST STORM (10), NEPTUNE (9), SWEETHEART BART (3), TORQUE LIKE MOTION (1)
SUGGESTED BET: THE LOST STORM (10) to win

SUGGESTED BET: THE LOST STORM (10) to win

RACE ELEVEN

Despite copping heat in the run when leading the Great Square, ROCKINWITHATTITUDE (1) was brave in defeat when just out of the money behind LONDON TO A BRICK. Completing the NSW Oaks/Derby double at her previous two starts, she can look to annex the Qld double starting with this Oaks where it looks a case of times and margins please judge.

KENETURIO (3) founded the pressure a little beyond her at this stage when fading after a pole trip in the Great Square. Holding 3rd when 4m from HOT TO TROT the start prior, she can look to get across early to battle it out for the silver.

IM A GYPSY QUEEN (5) started off the 30m tape on Tues and was best of the chasers to hold 2nd as WEWILLSEEHOWWEGO ran a new class record from the front. A winner here three back, she can be enigmatic with her manners but can fight out the minor money.

SELECTIONS: ROCKINWITHATTITUDE (1), KENETURIO (3), IM A GYPSY QUEEN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Trifecta 1 / 3-5 / 3-5
