RACE ONE

Making a rare error when the tapes released last week, THE REAPER (3) was out of business before going 100 metres. Strong to the line two back from back in the pack, he is at his best when up at the pointy end. From the 10m and with the front tape runner drawn wide, he can capitalise.

GET USED TO IT (5) was a smart debut winner when sitting parked and proving too tough for his opposition when grinding out the victory. Looming strongly second up only to make a costly error, with the added experience, he can be throwing down the challenge here.

MISS MEMPHIS (1) has the benefit of the front tape as a 3YO tackling the older campaigners. Runner-up to DEXTROUS DEXTER in the Triad last start, staying in front early will be vital.

AURORA (2) grabbed the bronze here two start back when locked on the inside and chasing home behind EN MASSE. Midfield last start, she can be close to the front and positioned to chime in.

SELECTIONS: THE REAPER (3), GET USED TO IT (5), MISS MEMPHIS (1), AURORA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: THE REAPER (3) to win

RACE THREE

Placed in five of her eight starts to date, REASON TO SHINE (2) might just have found the conditions for the breakthrough. Chasing gamely to be just out of the placings in the Triad behind RYLEE RHAYNE BOW, she was a gritty 3rd in the heat when sitting parked. This looks her chance.

ITS ONE LIFE (7) is the query runner, arriving from NZ to join the John Stariha stable and comes into this without a public appearance in Qld. By Ultimate Machete, he qualified in May back in NZ when showing arm hustle and running sharp time, digging in when challenged.

ART OF ROCK (8) is a Rock N Roll World gelding on debut for Ben Battle that is a half-brother to the handy GLENEAGLE WARRIOR. With a tidy trial in preparation, he will be probing.

SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3) settled in the running line in the Triad Consolation last start and made some nice metres behind DONTTELLMEAGAIN. Settling handy from the gate, she can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: REASON TO SHINE (2), ITS ONE LIFE (7), ART OF ROCK (8), SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: REASON TO SHINE (2) to win

RACE FOUR

A tricky contest to dissect here with a messy map and made harder by the 2138m trip looking tough for many of these to run out strongly. HASTY BID (6) was last seen with a smart 4th in the Derby Consolation where he was strong to the line in the closing stages. With the right trip, he is up to it.

ROCKNROLL MAX (5) was snagged off the gate last start to settle rearward and made up some nice metres as KALYPSO SAM took the prize. Runner-up in both prior appearances on The Triangle, four start back, he hit the line smartly here behind HASTY BID. He can issue a challenge.

IMA BIRUBI BOY (8) was a winner here five runs back when attacking the line hard at the end of the 1660 trip. Placed his past three in succession, he will be searching for space to chime in.

UNDERTHEKILT (9) has three wins in his past four starts, with each of those wins at Redcliffe. The unplaced run was on this deck, where he closed hard behind BORSELLINO. He has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: HASTY BID (6), ROCKNROLL MAX (5), IMA BIRUBI BOY (8), UNDERTHEKILT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: HASTY BID (6) to win

RACE FIVE

Needing some factors in his favour to find the space when needed, KALYPSO SAM (8) can look to extend his solid form since arriving in Qld. Easing across from gate 7 to find running line cover last week, he sprinted hard to pull clear to an 8m margin. He just needs the gap in time for a threepeat.

MIGHTY GEORGE (5) has placed at his past three in succession and will be relying on some tempo in this contest. Runner-up to LANAI last week after settling in the 1x1 trail and trying to make a closing raid, he was just 2m from NOT THE KINGSWOOD two runs back. He can issue a closing challenge.

THREE PARTS GREY (1) resumes from a spell to start her 3YO season after her last appearance back in December when last behind APOLLO DREAMZ. With a tidy preparatory trial, the gate is a big plus.

SAN MAREA (7) is given no favours from the wide gate but can do some work in her races if required. Holding 4th in the Triad Final behind JEWEL MELODY last start, she has claims.

SELECTIONS: KALYPSO SAM (8), MIGHTY GEORGE (5), THREE PARTS GREY (1), SAN MAREA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: KALYPSO SAM (8) to win

RACE SIX

Hoping for a front-line gate in the C&G Triad Final last time out, HOLD ONTO YA BLING (9) was served up with gate 10 where he was forced to settle back in the pack. Unable to reel them in over the closing stages, it followed an effortless heat when from the front. He can bounce back in this.

LANAI (3) rolled forward from gate 5 last start and left exposed was content to sit parked throughout. In a starchy performance, he pulled clear in the stretch to claim a 5m margin in a career PB. Building towards that with some smart performances, he can throw it down again here.

LUVBITE (4) was beaten by gate 7 last start after retreating early but it was a slick close out to grab the bronze behind LANAI. Asked to sit parked at the 2138 two starts back, he is in the mix.

SISTA BLISS (2) should strip fitter from her latest outing where she was first up from a spell and held on for the silver behind MERRY DANCER at the 2138m trip. Settling handy, she is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: HOLD ONTO YA BLING (9), LANAI (3), LUVBITE (4), SISTA BLISS (2)
SUGGESTED BET:  HOLD ONTO YA BLING (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

MAKARA (2)
was taken on the road as a travelling partner fir his talented stable mate but was able to earn some travelling money of his own with a Menangle win two starts back. Fading after a tough trip at Bendigo last start, he drops into veterans’ company for the first time and can capitalise.

APHORISM (6) has been in slick form since returning to Chris Frisby, with two victories in three runs and a half-head defeat in the other. Making a mid-race move from the second line last time out, he can press forward off the wide gate here to throw down the challenge.

OBI ONE (1) was not suited here last start when forced to sit parked over the 2138 trip. Placed in both prior runs including when runner-up to MYMATEPOG, an economical trip here suits.

ROCK BOTTOM (8) was snookered in the run last time out and when the gap did present, was just 5m from the winner HY VOLTAGE. 3rd to MIRACLE MOOSE two runs back, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: MAKARA (2), APHORISM (6), OBI ONE (1), ROCK BOTTOM (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-6-8

RACE EIGHT

Early mapping could be a little confusing here but with good arm hustle, ROSES ARE SWEET (4) can look to fire out in the early stages and then be open to options. Out of bullets over the latter stages of the 2138 a return to the mile is a plus and she might just be able to pinch this.

MIDNIGHT CALM (6) was building his way back to form and here last week found the conditions to take advantage. Sent to the front, he kept them rolling and had 7m to spare on the line in a 55.4 last 800 in a new PB rate. He can force the issue here and near the action can throw it down.

KING OF TRUMPS (3) found the trail here last start and held on for the silver behind MIDNIGHT CALM. Beaten by gate 7 in a strong qualifier the start prior, he is right in the fight here.

DAZZLE ME (7) has been freshened since his last appearance when sent forward from gate 5 in the early stages before fading behind RED RIGHT HAND. He will be back in the pack but can chime in.

SELECTIONS: ROSES ARE SWEET (4), MIDNIGHT CALM (6), KING OF TRUMPS (3), DAZZLE ME (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Chasing a hat-trick of victories last start, DARK TERROR (10) settled at the rear of the pack and was still last swinging for home. Attacking the line hard, he was under 4m from the winner in a blanket finish. Game with a gritty victory over this trip two starts back, he can overpower them here.

HY VOLTAGE (7) descended on them over the mile three starts back for a narrow victory, with the form franked when runner-up APHORISM was successful at his next start. Game in defeat two runs back after sitting parked, he struck trouble last start and can come with one run here to challenge.

LUKE JOHN (1) steps up in ratings for this contest but comes up with the gate to offset. Chasing home for the bronze behind BIG SHADOW in a 70Final here on Saturday. He can grab another minor.

AUNTY BELLA (5) pressed hard off the arm over the mile last start where she found the front and was game to the wire when just a neck from the winner. She will be thereabouts again here.

SELECTIONS: DARK TERROR (10), HY VOLTAGE (7), LUKE JOHN (1), AUNTY BELLA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: DARK TERROR (10) to win
