New rich races to headline Sunshine Coast Friday meetings

The Sunshine Coast Turf Club has unveiled its new TAB Friday Night Racing season.

Commencing Friday, September 29, the series will feature an array of exciting races and initiatives, providing vibrant entertainment for all racing enthusiasts.

The highlight of this season is the TAB 100's and 1000's race series, featuring seven $100,000 1000-metre races scheduled over seven Friday night meetings.

The series dates are as follows:

  • September 29 – Class 1 Plate (set weights)
  • October 27 – Open Handicap
  • December 15 (TBC)
  • January 19 (TBC)
  • February 2 (TBC)
  • February 16 (TBC)
  • March 1 (TBC)

"This year's Friday Night Racing entertainment promises a cracking start to the weekend for racegoers," Sunshine Coast Turf Club CEO John Miller said.

"Working with our major sponsor and partner TAB, the SCTC is planning a dynamic lineup of activations to attract and entertain racegoers at the end of the work week.

"With the addition of these on-track and off-track entertainment initiatives we aim to deliver the ultimate Friday Night experience for the general public."

The leading trainer of the series will have a chance to win a trip for two to the prestigious 2024 Melbourne Cup, complete with exclusive hospitality in the TAB Marquee in the Birdcage.

To enhance the on-course experience, punters will have access to the TAB Central site, providing valuable racing tips and information, as well as exciting merchandise giveaways at every Friday Night Meeting.
