RACE ONE

Another small field for the 2YO trotters where JUSTABITLIKESULLY (4) can overcome the 10m tape. Off equal marks last start, he was safely away before taking the trail at the 2138. With 250 to travel he started to hang and lost ground before resetting to grab 3rd. The class edge should be enough.

MIRA SATURN (1) chased gamely here last week and was setting out after the leader and winner GAIT WITH GRACE. Holding on for the silver, the start prior she made a critical error when having a shot for the front not long after the start. Stepping cleanly gives her a challenging chance.

SUBTLE KIMBA (2) loomed up and look set to grab 3rd last week but was pipped in the last strides to finishing 4th as GAIT WITH GRACE dictated in front. Runner-up the start prior, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: JUSTABITLIKESULLY (4), MIRA SATURN (1), SUBTLE KIMBA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: JUSTABITLIKESULLY (4) to win

RACE THREE

Placed in half of her eight career starts, BROOKFIELDS BEAUTY (7) looks to have found the right conditions to claim a breakthrough. Strong to the line last start for 2nd to AURORA JOY, she was making late metres when 3rd two runs back. Back into maiden company today can be the day.

KING VANCE (1) is a nicely bred 3YO colt on debut for Jack Butler that ranks as a full brother to CLASS TO THE MAX and a half to COLT THIRTY ONE. With a sound qualifying trial to earn the race ticket, he secures the right gate and line up to make a play at his first appearance.

CROSS WALK (6) returns from a long spell, last seen back in January when striking trouble at Redcliffe. Not asked for much in a recent trial, he should benefit from the outing.

ENZED FLYER (2) struck trouble on Sunday at Redcliffe which ended his chances. Runner-up two starts back from a wide gate, he can be close enough to feature here.

SELECTIONS: BROOKFIELDS BEAUTY (7), KING VANCE (1), CROSS WALK (6), ENZED FLYER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: BROOKFIELDS BEAUTY (7) to win

RACE FOUR

Tackling open company at his past two starts, FENOMENAL (10) returns to the midweek circuit looking to capitalise on the drop in grade. Forced to hang tough when parked last time, he was safely away and only faded late when 3m from ZEALOUS SPUR two back. He can overcome the impost.

THE REAPER (7) has been in top form in recent weeks, hitting the board in six of his past seven. Pressing the issue in the early stages after a safe beginning last week, he took control and from the front was able to see it out. Back to the 20m this time, he can still issue the challenge.

REGAL APPOINTMENT (11) was supported to run fav. Last week and after settling in the 1x1 trail, had to settle for the bronze when 6m astern of the winner. He can be thereabouts again here.

NATTY PAGGER (3) looked to be looming strong last start after being buried in the run but came up a neck short of the winner THE REAPER. Runner-up two back at Redcliffe, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: FENOMENAL (10), THE REAPER (7), REGAL APPOINTMENT (11), NATTY PAGGER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: FENOMENAL (10) to win

RACE FIVE

MAJOR MONDO (1)
joins the Graham Dwyer stable as a five-time winner. Finishing 3rd last start at Bathurst when sent out in red figures, he was 3m from the winner. Locked away on the poles two starts back from inside the second line, he has the arm hustle to make a play first up.

CRIME TIME (6) might just be better served with the wider gate here after his past five have all been from fence draws, either front or second line, not ideal with his lack of early speed. Grabbing the silver at Redcliffe two starts back, the extra time to wind up can helps his challenging chances.

BRAEVIEW FELLA (10) eased from gate 6 before trying to launch a closing raid here last time out when grabbing the silver behind TORQUE WRITER. Put out of business two back, he can chime in.

LANCELOT BROMAC (2) loomed ominously at Redcliffe two starts back and went within an eyelash of victory. Luckless in behind them last start, he will be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR MONDO (1), CRIME TIME (6), BRAEVIEW FELLA (10), LANCELOT BROMAC (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR MONDO (1) to win

RACE SIX

First up in Qld last week from gate 5, THE IRISHMAN (2) was snagged off the arm to then punch up along the poles and look for the short cuts. Running up behind them to finish in the second half of the field, the improved gate and benefit of the first up run can see him stake his claim here.

FANTASY BLASTER (9) showed good hustle off the arm to take control in the early stages from gate 4 last start before opting for cover and then had the trip to arrive for a narrow victory. With a big margin back to 3rd, she should secure the right trail here to issue a challenge.

ARCHILLES (7) is given no favours from the outside front line but will only need a slice of luck to be in the numbers. Runner-up two back behind APHRODITE, he could have been closer with better luck last time.

TOUCH OF TERROR (10) made full use of the improved gate last start to control the tempo and take them all the way with 7m to spare. The second line makes the task tougher this time.

SELECTIONS: THE IRISHMAN (2), FANTASY BLASTER (9), ARCHILLES (7), TOUCH OF TERROR (10)
SUGGESTED BET:  THE IRISHMAN (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

Chasing a hat-trick of victories after successive wins here at HQ, KEYANG TARA (1) lands the perfect alley. Attacking the line strongly to arrive for a mare’s qualifier on Saturday night, she has enough early speed to secure the right position to chase the threepeat.

GLOVER (10) has placed in both starts since arriving in Qld, the latest when eased off the gate from wide on the front line and then probing for gaps up the inside. Wide off the track first up at Redcliffe, he can get the right cart into this to throw down the challenge.

HARRY KANE (7) is afforded no favours from this alley but he has been in nice touch in recent outings. Chasing for 2nd behind subsequent winner MISTER FONZI two starts back, he has claims.

SOHO CASABLANCA (6) started from inside the second line last start and was darting up the passing lane to be under 4m from the winner ILLAVABUBBLES. The wide gate is tough but he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: KEYANG TARA (1), GLOVER (10), HARRY KANE (7), SOHO CASABLANCA (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

Making some nice metres in the closing stages last start to be under 5m from the winner, THE TAX CULLECTOR (2) chased home for the bronze the start prior behind ALWAYS SMOKIN after facing gate 6. At his best when setting the speed, he has the gate to rev up and look to take control.

LUVBITE (9) was exposed early before receiving cover last time out but could not finish it off as OBI ONE capitalised off the fence trip. Clinging on after setting the tempo two starts back, he was collared on the line to be a half-neck away. Trailing through early, he can issue a challenge.

OUR UNCLE NEV (1) made the most of gate 1 at Redcliffe two starts back when burrowing through and dictating from the front. A wide gate stung on Saturday behind ALWAYS SMOKIN with a return to the tight alley a huge asset.

OBI ONE (10) made the most of a soft trip on the markers last start and when given open space had the closing power to arrive. Mapping will be the key here with a strong tempo likely.

SELECTIONS: THE TAX CULLECTOR (2), LUVBITE (9), OUR UNCLE NEV (1), OBI ONE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: THE TAX CULLECTOR (2) to win

RACE NINE

Runner-up at his past two starts as he approaches another victory, COMMODORE JUJON (3) might have found the right conditions here to chase it down. Hitting the front here last week after a tough run when parked, he was collared in the last stride to go under by a head margin.

GOLIGHTLY (2) eased from gate 5 last start to settle rearward on the fence and was running up between them searching for clear space. Eased to the rear before making strong closing metres two starts back behind AMAMI, settling forward gives him a challenging chance here.

SWAGGIE SHANNON (1) was safely away from the tapes on Saturday night and led until the 600 when TAIRLAW TOLL powered up and took over. With the right trip, he can bounce back into the money.

DESPONDENT (9) got it all wrong on Saturday night from the tapes and his chances had expired before even moving 10 metres. Buried in the run two starts back, he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: COMMODORE JUJON (3), GOLIGHTLY (2), SWAGGIE SHANNON (1), DESPONDENT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: COMMODORE JUJON (3) to win
