RACE ONE

Making his race debut here last week, MAC OREILLY (6) was in the running line and then covered to his outside until straightening. Losing momentum when needed, he closed it off in nice fashion to be 4m adrift of the winner AARDIES MIRACLE. The gate hurts but experience second up is beneficial.

HAY BALE HUSTLER (8) was set loose at the 600 here last week and made a strong challenge where she loomed ominously. Peaking on the run in the stretch but rallying to be just 5m from the winner AARDIES MIRACLE, she will be probing for open space and if it arrives in time, she can pinch this.

DEEP REGRET (2) was sent out fav last start at Redcliffe when settled in the running line before easing to the poles and finishing soundly, 5m astern of the winner. He has the gate to feature.

MARKSMAN (3) was beaten by the outside second line last start when trying to make a run in the closing stages. With good arm speed, he can fire the early bullets here to make a play.

SELECTIONS: MAC OREILLY (6), HAY BALE HUSTLER (8), DEEP REGRET (2), MARKSMAN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MAC OREILLY (6) to win

RACE TWO

The first of two BOTRA Young Drivers Championship races where IMA BIRUBI BOY (5) looks to find optimal conditions. Beaten by a wide gate off the second line over the middle trip last time, he tried to see it out from the front two starts back when gunned down. Back to the mile will aid his chances.

BRAEVIEW FELLA (1) was not suited last start when forced to cut the breeze and after the tough trip, faded in the closing stages. Striking trouble two starts back, he closed it off smartly here three back from the second line and secures all the options from this gate to throw down the challenge.

CRIME TIME (8) angled to the inside last start and was trying to make a late raid when 8m from the winner WILLIEWA LIGHTNING. Wide gates have dented his hopes of late and he will be probing.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (9) was sent to the post as a red figure fav last start from gate 1 and after protecting the inside, led everywhere bar the wire when beaten a half-head. The right trail helps her chances.

SELECTIONS: IMA BIRUBI BOY (5), BRAEVIEW FELLA (1), CRIME TIME (8), SHEZ ALL STYLE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: IMA BIRUBI BOY (5) to win

RACE THREE

With two runs for the Hetherington stable, RIPPIN RUPERT (1) has not had anything go his way in either and comes to Brisbane with the right draw and conditions to turn his fortunes. A wide gate and a slick tempo ended his chances first up and second up struck trouble.

SAILALONG SINBAD (8) eased from the outside front line at Redcliffe last start to settle at the rear before trying to make some closing metres. Beaten by a wide second line gate at Marburg two starts back, he maps for the soft trip and will get the chance to overturn his 23 winless runs on this deck.

HOIHO (9) has been no closer than gate 5 in 13 starts in Qld and drawn the second line in 9 of those. Sent around them last start at Redcliffe to sit parked, he can secure a cheaper trip here to chime in.

SHES CLASSY (4) fired off the arm here last week to lead from this same gate

SELECTIONS: RIPPIN RUPERT (1), SAILALONG SINBAD (8), HOIHO (9), SHES CLASSY (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

The second of the BOTRA Young Drivers races on the card where ARKIN WICKED (9) can look to appreciate a strong tempo again, as he did last start when powering over the top. Settled at the rear in that contest, he charged home. Midfield behind AARDIES FLASH the start prior, he can descend.

MADRIGAL (1) has now had two runs back from a spell, the latest when tackling a strong 3YO Fillies event last Saturday and retreating to secure position. Unable to get warm over the closing stages, she was sent out deep into the red when resuming. With all the options, she can capitalise.

NOT THE KINGSWOOD (3) has good arm hustle and can take a shot here. Placed in four of his past five starts, he was game in defeat last start when parked over the Redcliffe 1780 and can feature.

KHULAN KID (4) was wide off the track last start after sitting rearward from outside the second line as GWYNETH P darted up the passing lane. With speed out of the machine, he can be handy enough.

SELECTIONS: ARKIN WICKED (9), MADRIGAL (1), NOT THE KINGSWOOD (3), KHULAN KID (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ARKIN WICKED (9) to win

RACE FIVE

Three-wide through the opening 500 metres of the 2138 trip last start before applying heat to the leader, KERBANG (6) put that leader away by the 400 but was out of fuel swinging for home and finished rearward. Despite the wide alley, a return to the mile against this opposition appeals.

MAGICOL IDEAL (3) was caught chasing a position in the early stages last start at Redcliffe before easing into the running line. Making a strong challenge in the closing stages to get within a neck of the winner, he has the gate to slide forward here and make his presence felt.

IDEAL DESIRE (7) faces a stern test at just the second start of her career as a 2YO stepping up against some seasoned campaigners. A smart debut winner at Newcastle, she stays under notice.

JAKKI MUN (5) rolled forward from this same gate last time out and forced to sit parked was in for the fight when 3m adrift of the winner LULU MAE. Chasing from deep field the start prior, he has podium claims.

SUGGESTED BET: KERBANG (6) to win

RACE SIX

Conditions have been against KEY LARGO (2) in recent outings where he has been forced to come from second line gates. Off the second line last start in a strongly run 2138, he returns to a front-line gate at the mile. That is where he does his best work and he lands the chance to turn things around.

LAST TIME JOE (3) was beaten by a wide gate last start in The Bill Dixon when snagging back for position and then trying to make ground against the tempo. Charging home off tempo from deep field in a Peak Creek heat the start prior, settling closer to the action here is a huge plus.

ART JESTER (1) was luckless last start from a second line gate and needed a gap to arrive sooner when finishing 5m from MISTER FONZI. He maps for the perfect trip here to chime in.

DESPONDENT (6) was beaten by the second line in a strongly run 2138 trip last start which had followed a 2nd to subsequent winner COMMODORE JUJON. Despite the gate, he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: KEY LARGO (2), LAST TIME JOE (3), CHAMONIX (8), DESPONDENT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: KEY LARGO (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

Pressing forward to find the front here two starts back, MAJOR ICON (9) was trying to fight them off, only for GWNETH P to dart through and nab him on the wire. Buried last start and making nice metres at the end of the 2138, he can trail through and look to descend on them.

LULU MAE (2) will strip fitter from her latest assignment where she faced the second line at her first run since August. Settled in the running line and then powering hard down the stretch to score, she can settle close enough to the action to throw down the challenge.

TOMMY BLIGH (1) is winless in 14 attempts here at HQ but the only other time he started from the ace on this deck returned a close 2nd. Strong to the line last start at Redcliffe from gate 6, the gate is a huge asset.

LA SABINA (3) rolled forward from this same gate over the middle trip last start and released for the trail, fighting late for the bronze behind ARKIN WICKED. She can get forward to feature.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR ICON (9), LULU MAE (2), TOMMY BLIGH (1), LA SABINA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR ICON (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

With four runs back from a spell now under his belt, LEITHEN BURN (3) looks to have found the right conditions here to claim a breakthrough. Having an early look last start before obtaining running line cover, he loomed strongly in the stretch but was collared on the line. This looks within reach.

SAVING MAJOR PERCY (5) was second up for the new barn here last week and sat off tempo before rattling in the stretch to pick them up and claim victory. Hitting the line in smart fashion first up from a second line gate, mapping could is a concern, but his win gives him a strong challenging chance.

ROCK FISHERMAN (6)
has had good success here at The Creek previously when campaigning here for Bern Hewitt and now line up for the visiting Jarred Hetherington. he can settle handy to chime in.

SO SIRIUS (7) overcame the second line here two starts back when sent forward in the middle stages and from the front was too slick. Strong to the line last start behind OK BOOMER, he has claims.

SELECTIONS: LEITHEN BURN (3), ROCK FISHERMAN (6), SO SIRIUS (7), SAVING MAJOR PERCY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LEITHEN BURN (3) to win
