RACE ONE

Coming up just a neck short of victory last start, MIRA STURN (5) was hitting the line in smart fashion behind JUSTABITLIKESULLY. That made it five successive starts where she has been the bridesmaid, including once against all age performers. This looks to be her day.

ICANTDOIT (2) made a costly error last start and had to settle for the bronze behind JUSTABITLIKESULLY. Sent out deep into the red two starts back when resuming from a spell, she can look to issue a challenge here.

SISTER KATIE (4) is trained by the NSW visitor Grant Forrest and arrives a three-time placegetter, the latest at Menangle when runner-up. This will be her first look at the tapes.

SELECTIONS: MIRA STURN (5), ICANTDOIT (2), SISTER KATIE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MIRA STURN (5) to win

RACE TWO

SKYRO DREAMZ (1) is a Fear The Dragon gelding on debut for Mark Dux that ranks as a half to the talented APOLLO DREAMZ. Scoring an eye-catching trial to earn the race ticket, he was green but still was strong to the line. If he can bring that to his first race appearance, he can start in style.

CONVINCED (9) was resuming from a spell last start when hitting the line in good order for 2nd behind SHEEZ GOT TORQUE. Sent for a break after fading out in the Triad Heats the start prior, he can build off the last start to be issuing a late challenge.

DENIS THE PUNTER (7) was first up off a break last start when sent forward to sit parked and despite the tough trip was in for the fight when 5m from the winner. He has place claims again.

THE TAX EVADER (3) was showing some early hustle last start when finding the trail but unable to chime in when 5m from the winner. Still chasing his first podium, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SKYRO DREAMZ (1), CONVINCED (9), DENIS THE PUNTER (7), THE TAX EVADER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: SKYRO DREAMZ (1) to win

RACE THREE

Starting to put it together and furnish into a polished commodity, GETOVERROVER (6) chased hard behind the smart DARCYS FIREBALL last start for 2nd. Stepping cleanly two starts back, he was never in danger with a smart victory and negotiating the traffic can claim another W here.

NATTY PAGGER (10) was safely away from the 20m impost last start and with the good trip held on for the silver behind the talented TOP OF THE MOMENT. Strong to the line when beaten a similar margin the start prior, he has been in consistent form and can throw down the challenge.

BUN IN THE OVEN (2) darted through along the inside to grab the silver two starts back and last start was not too far from the winner TOP OF THE MOMENT. A soft peg trip helps her chances.

ITSALLANDOVER (5) has had two starts since arriving in Qld and made errors in both. Banished to the trials, he earned the return and if able to trot throughout, can grab a podium return.

SELECTIONS: GETOVERROVER (6), NATTY PAGGER (10), BUN IN THE OVEN (2), ITSALLANDOVER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GETOVERROVER (6) to win

RACE FOUR

A two-time winner from five attempts here at The Creek, THE IRISHMAN (4) gets back to the mile for the second time after competing at the middle trip in his past four in succession. Trying to fight them off in front last start when holding 3rd, he can get forward again to stake his claim.

FANTASY BLASTER (1) was runner-up to SHEZA CRACKER at this trip two starts back, releasing for the trail and then best of the chasers. Midfield last start at the 2138 after finding the front and then releasing, she can get the good trip again here and back to the mile look to issue a challenge.

ARCHILLES (7) keeps on chalking up the minor placings, adding another silver last start when a half-head from the winner. Placed in 8 of his past 11, he can be thereabouts once again.

MAJOR MONDO (6) missed the money for the first time since arriving in Qld last start when retreating from the outside front line over the 2138. He can bounce back with a podium here.

SELECTIONS: THE IRISHMAN (4), FANTASY BLASTER (1), ARCHILLES (7), MAJOR MONDO (6)
SUGGESTED BET: THE IRISHMAN (4) to win

RACE FIVE

These up to NR40 events can be tricky and that intensifies here with the 2138m trip to factor in. Taking the trail here last start CRIME TIME (11) lost momentum at a vital moment before darting back into the passing lane. A winner two starts back, he can be winding up to take his shot.

SKIPPERS SWAN SONG (10) is in search of a hat-trick of victories after successive wins at Redcliffe. Eased from gate 6 last start, she was finishing all over the top of them and arrived on the wire to claim victory. With he right cart into the contest, she can descend again to issue a challenge.

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (6) will appreciate moving one position closer to the poles and last start was strong to the line at the end of the mile when 4m from the winner. He can be thereabouts.

LANCELOT BROMAC (2) kept grinding away to the wire last start and was only a neck from the winner. The middle trip is not really his go, but like always, he will be still giving.

SELECTIONS: CRIME TIME (11), SKIPPERS SWAN SONG (10), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (6), LANCELOT BROMAC (2)
SUGGESTED BET: CRIME TIME (11) to win

RACE SIX

An improved gate and two runs back from a spell can be the catalyst for BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (1) to bounce back into winning form. Hanging tough first over last start when second up, he was working home in good order when resuming. He can tuck in behind here and land the snipers shot.

IM BOO (5) was not suited from inside the second line last start and was never in the contest. Caught wide and then forced to snag back in the Peak of The Creek Final the start prior, he set the speed in his heat when holding 3rd. He can force the issue here and try to scare them off in front.

BONNIES CAM (8) will be tucked away behind the action and searching for an uninterrupted run to the wire. Closing in good order last start at Redcliffe, he is a podium player off a cheap trip.

ITZ CHEROKEE JACK (10) has failed to really fire this campaign and was taken back to the trials from some fine-tuning. Off the back of a smart hit out behind MR MCLAREN, he can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (1), IM BOO (5), BONNIES CAM (8), ITZ CHEROKEE JACK (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

In a race where there looks some good tempo off the front line, if MYDADSAID (8) can get to the lane with some momentum, he might be the one. Sent forward to lead from 6 two starts back when scoring, he reached the Derby consolation at the end of his prep. He can be stalking here fresh.

PERFECT TREND (6) is a newcomer to Qld for the Alanah Richardson stable, the lightly raced mare arriving a two-time winner. A tough 2nd at her last appearance back in August at Wagga, she has trialled twice in the Riverina before being sent North. She stays under notice fresh up.

SPORTING RAGE (10) started from the second line last start and after positioning in the running line then angled back to the passing lane in the stretch and went within a neck of victory. He can be thereabouts.

SOHO CASABLANCA (3) was strong to the line wide off the track last start when 5m from the winner after facing a second line gate at the 2138m trip. With an improved gate, he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: MYDADSAID (8), PERFECT TREND (6), SPORTING RAGE (10), SOHO CASABLANCA (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

Many of these same horses did battle last start from similar gates and OFFYAROCKA CROCKER (5) loomed in the stretch to be collared late, beaten a half-head. Rolling forward to sit parked the last lap, he will take further benefit from that where he was second up and can cash in here.

WHATA ROLLER (4) was not in the same battle last week, coming into this off a small freshen from the 70 Final back in October where he was 11m from LOUS DREAM. Strong to the line two starts back, he has good early hustle to throw down a challenge.

BETTOR ROMANCE (2) could not find a forward spot from this same gate last start and retreated before finishing strongly to be just a neck from the winner CAPTAIN NEMO. She can look to repeat.

CAPTAIN NEMO (7) had been building towards a victory and was just hoping for some more factors in his favour. It worked out last start and he was able to close best and can be chiming in again.

SELECTIONS: OFFYAROCKA CROCKER (5), WHATA ROLLER (4), BETTOR ROMANCE (2), CAPTAIN NEMO (7)
SUGGESTED BET: OFFYAROCKA CROCKER (5) to win

RACE NINE

These veterans’ races are tough to work out and depending on patterns the winner could come from a wide range of runners. OUR MAJOR DAY (10) was runner-up here two starts back in a up to NR90 event when closing smartly to be 2m from HY VOLTAGE. The gate hurts but he can take this.

KEY LARGO (4) is a much better miler, but his last win was over this trip, and he lands to settle handy to the action Trying to see it out last start at the mile in tougher B5 company, he was grabbed in the closing strides and although midfield was just 2m from the winner. He might just throw it down.

DESPONDENT (6) secured the perfect trip in behind the speed on Sat night and made full use of the passing lane when it presented to dart through and take the prize. Never far away, he can chime in.

ITS MR CLOONEY (8) backs up from Sat night where he stepped safely from the tapes and was looking to see it out when grabbed up the passing lane by DESPONDENT. He will be probing.

SELECTIONS: OUR MAJOR DAY (10), KEY LARGO (4), DESPONDENT (6), ITS MR CLOONEY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MAJOR DAY (10) to win
