RACE ONE

SMIRKS LIKA BOSS (1) started from inside the second line last start and with the pocket trip went within a pimple of landing the prize. Strong to the line two starts back when wide off the track and grabbing 3rd, he has the early hustle to burrow through and dictate.

MERGE RIGHT (8) faced the outside second line last start when working home wide off the track to grab 2nd behind the swoping FALCONS. A wide gate in a much stronger AP race two starts back saw her at the rear and with a return to this grade and the right cart home, she can issue a challenge.

BONNIES DANCE (2) was first up in six weeks last time out and could have finished closer than the 4m margin with a clearer passage. With a handy record on this track, she can be thereabouts.

ZACH LOWE (9) was second up from a spell last start when the field lined out in single file, and he chased late to be 4m from the winner STOMPEM. Despite the gate, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SMIRKS LIKA BOSS (1), MERGE RIGHT (8), BONNIES DANCE (2), ZACH LOWE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SMIRKS LIKA BOSS (1) to win

RACE THREE

HEY MISTER TAYLOR (4)
has hit the board in over 50% of his runs since returning from a spell but been unable to convert any into a win. Well supported in the majority of those outings, he might finally have found the right race to break the 2023 drought.

MATAI REACTOR (1) eased from gate 5 last start to be near the rear before making his run over the closing stages and wide off the tack was able to arrive for a neck margin. Mapping for a soft trip in behind the speed, he can be ready to throw it down.

LA SABINA (3) was first up in Qld last start when keeping the opposition wide from gate 1 and looking to see it out in front. Grabbed late to finish 2nd, with added fitness she can feature.

DEVOUGED (5) has another wide gate after copping wide alleys in recent appearances. Sent to sit parked last start for a fighting 3rd, he can roll forward again here to grab a minor.

SELECTIONS: HEY MISTER TAYLOR (4), MATAI REACTOR (1), LA SABINA (3), DEVOUGED (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

WHAT FOR (9) takes his first look at The Triangle for the visiting Adam Ruggari barn and arrives a last start Newcastle winner. Finding the pocket trail in that contest and securing the gap to grab victory, if he can overcome the second line, he should be able to grab the prize.

RIVERINA FLASH (4) faced a second line gate last start and settling in the running line had the closing speed to descend on them to claim a 6m margin. Trying to make a late raid two starts back, he has been thereabouts in recent outings and can be issuing a closing challenge once again.

GABBYS IDEAL (1) comes up trumps from this alley and should have the early hustle to hold them wide. Taking them all the way three starts back, she has podium claims off this gate.

FEELIN FLIRTY (5) has hit the board at his past five in succession, the latest when darting up the passing lane to be an eyelash short of victory. The gate hurts but he will not be far away.

SELECTIONS: WHAT FOR (9), RIVERINA FLASH (4), GABBYS IDEAL (1), FEELIN FLIRTY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: WHAT FOR (9) to win

RACE FIVE

PURPLE SHADES (1)
settled in the running line last start when trying to make a late play and finishing 6m from the winner MATAI REACTOR. Runner-up when just a half-head away two starts back, he has the gate to utilise his early speed and can burrow through to dictate.

TORQUE WRITER (6) has the ODM embargo but can finish her races strongly and if there is some mid-race pressure here which looks a distinct possibility, then she is right in this. Chargin home to score at The Creek two starts back as the widest runner, she can descend on them.

HOIHO (9) was locked away against the poles last start from inside the second line and never really found open air. Besieged by wide and second line gates, he has podium claims.

DOLLARBILL (3) has placed at his past three starts, the latest when using the passing lane to be just 1m from the winner. Settling handy from this gate can see him in the mix,

SELECTIONS: PURPLE SHADES (1), TORQUE WRITER (6), HOIHO (9), DOLLARBILL (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

DONT FEAR FOR ME (1)
has been runner-up at his past three in succession, the latest a starchy effort after sitting parked from gate 5 and finishing 2m from the winner SHE DAZZLES. Trying to see it out two starts back from this same gate, he secures his chance for a 2023 victory.

JIMMY JOYCE (6) made his Qld debut here last week when taking control from gate 1 and pulling clear for an effortless 19m victory. Taking benefit from that run which was his first this year, he is afforded no favours from the wide gate but finds another race well within reach.

GLENLEA BELLA (3) broke maiden ranks here two starts back when sitting parked and pulling clear to claim victory, Just a half-neck away last start after a tough trip, she can feature once again.

MAGIC NITRO (8) settled in the running line last start and grabbed the bronze behind SHE DAZZLES. With early options to drop to the poles for the soft trip, she can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: DONT FEAR FOR ME (1), JIMMY JOYCE (6), GLENLEA BELLA (3), MAGIC NITRO (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

LADY ANTHEIA (1)
is knocking on the door after placing at her past five in succession, the latest at HQ when making a nice close out for 2nd behind the smart looking MULLUM ROXY. With options from this gate, she will be searching for a gap to capitalise.

CROSS WALK (9) was returning from a long spell last time out when holding 3rd, but a long way from the impressive looking victor KING VANCE. Unplaced in three attempts here at The Triangle last season as a 2YO, with added fitness, he finds the right maiden to issue a challenge.

SOMEONES WATCHING (5) found 1x1 cover last start and was best of the rest behind the tearaway winner JIMMY JOYCE. Runner-up in three of his past four, he is getting closer to a victory.

FANCY LIKE BARBIE (4) led them up from gate 2 here three runs back when holding on for 3rd behind ALWAYS IDLE. She can be grabbing some minor money again here.

SELECTIONS: LADY ANTHEIA (1), CROSS WALK (9), SOMEONES WATCHING (5), FANCY LIKE BARBIE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: LADY ANTHEIA (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

FUNNILY ENOUGH (9)
has no favours from this alley but might just have found the right conditions to get back into winning form. Beaten by the outside front alley over the AP mile last start, he attacked the line hard here two starts back when 1m from HEAVENLY WISDOM and can arrive here.

CHASIN DREAMZ (4) pressed forward to find the front from this same gate here two starts back when sent to the post as fav and from the front led until deep stretch, reeled in by THE CROM. Charging home here last start from deep field for the bronze, she can get forward to feature.

TORQUE IN CONTROL (7) held the 1x1 trail from the outside second line last start over the 2040 and was rattling late to get within a blister of victory. Never too far away, she will be probing.

VALLANI MAGIC (6) has no favours from the outside paint, but has been much better at her past two, the latest when making a last stride dive that missed. She can chime in.

SELECTIONS: FUNNILY ENOUGH (9), CHASIN DREAMZ (4), TORQUE IN CONTROL (7), VALLANI MAGIC (6)
SUGGESTED BET: FUNNILY ENOUGH (9) to win

RACE NINE

SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3)
had the arm hustle to lead them up from gate 1 at HQ last start, the lead duties at an expense of a 27.6 opening split. Backing it off through the middle half, she was nabbed close the wire as HELL OF A HAND arrived. Placed in three of four on this deck, this looks her chance.

AIR EXPRESS (6) made errors on debut that ended his chances. Second up here last week from this gate when snagging to the rear, he was closing it out in nice order to grab the silver behind CYCLONE TONY. With further experience, he can be issuing the closing challenge once again.

ALWAYS EXCLUSIF (1) was able to grab the silver in a roughhouse affair last start where ON DA NOD pulled clear. With the benefit of the inside alley, she can chase some minor money.

SAMANTHA CEE (7) pressed ahead from gate 3 last start when resuming to find the front and was trying to fight them off when holding on for the bronze. Tucked away here, she will be probing.

SELECTIONS: SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3), AIR EXPRESS (6), ALWAYS EXCLUSIF (1), SAMANTHA CEE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SHEEZ GOT TORQUE (3) to win

RACE TEN

PELICAN FLY (5)
will traverse The Triangle for the first time, heading North for Newcastle based Adam Ruggari. A winner three starts back from the front in handy time at his home deck, he has met stronger opposition at his past two than what he meets here and can cash in.

HE SAID SHE SAID (1) does his best work against the poles and secures the ideal gate to match his pattern. Beaten a head when trying to lead throughout four runs back, he has been off the fence at his past three when midfield on each occasion. With the early options, he can throw it down.

BETTERTHAN POPSY (6) was resuming from a spell here last start and from the 1x1 trail had the closing power to finish over the top. The wide gate makes the repeat a tough ask.

ROCKTAGONAL (7) eased from gate 7 in a qualifier on Saturday night to settle at the rear and loomed strongly in the stretch to be a half-neck from the winner. He will have second line options here.

SELECTIONS: PELICAN FLY (5), HE SAID SHE SAID (1), BETTERTHAN POPSY (6), ROCKTAGONAL (7)
SUGGESTED BET:
