A spot in the $4 million All-Star Mile beckons for the 2024 Magic Millions 3YO Guineas champion.

Earlier today, it was confirmed that the winner of the $3 million feature would secure a spot in Melbourne’s famous slot race, to be run at Caulfield on Saturday, March 16.

As a result, the Magic Millions Guineas will also become the first Australian ‘win and you’re in’ race for the All-Star Mile to be run outside of Victoria.

Last month, Racing Victoria announced that the fan voting system synonymous with the race would be abandoned, in favour of a number of qualifying races including the Group 1 C.F. Orr Stakes, the Futurity Stakes and the Australian Guineas.

Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said the announcement is an exciting initiative for both participants and fans.

“With the feature Gold Coast Magic Millions 3YO Guineas increasing to $3 million for the first time this January, we are delighted to have the opportunity to connect the Queensland Summer Racing Carnival with the innovative $4 million All-Star Mile over Victoria’s autumn," he said.

“We thank Racing Victoria and the Melbourne Racing Club for their foresight in making this partnership possible for an elite Magic Millions graduate to secure a start in the 2024 All-Star Mile at Caulfield."

Earlier this year, it was announced that the famous Magic Millions Raceday would reach new heights, with both time-honoured marquee features – the 2YO Classic and 3YO Guineas – increasing by $1 million to be run for $3 million apiece.

As a result, total prize money for Magic Millions Raceday has soared to $14.25 million in 2024 (up from $11.75 million in 2023), while maintaining its standing as the only raceday in the Southern Hemisphere to stage eight million-dollar plus races on the one card.

“Alongside Racing Queensland and the Gold Coast Turf Club, we are excited to bring our vision of the Magic Millions Race Series expansion into reality this Summer Carnival,” Bowden said earlier this year.

“There are more races, more prize money and more opportunity to participate than ever before. These enhancements will broaden the distribution of prize money to more owners and trainers.

“We are so delighted to grow our iconic Carnival for the Gold Coast and deliver the world’s largest ownership experience in the process.”
