Racing Queensland advises that following an inspection of the track at Burdekin Race Club this morning, the club’s meeting on Saturday, February 17, will not proceed.
The surface received 113mm of rain overnight making it unsuitable for racing.
As a result, the acceptances for the Townsville race meeting Tuesday, February 20 have been extended until midday today allowing horses that were accepted at Burdekin Race Club to nominate and accept for Townsville.
An additional race will be added to the program for the Townsville Turf Club meeting. It is:
- Benchmark 55 Handicap - 1000m - $21,000
Nominations and acceptances for this race close today.
- Nominations - 10am;
- Weights - 11am;
- Acceptances - 12 noon; and
- Jockey declaration - 2pm.
