I AM MARQUEZ (1) struck trouble last start which ended his night when finishing at the rear of the field. Beaten by a wide gate the start prior, it has been a while between drinks for the nine-year-old, however he finds vastly improved conditions here to issue a challenge.

PRESS STATEMENT (2) should be tightening up after three runs back from a spell where he has faced wide gates in each appearance. With good hustle off the arm, he is right in the fight.

KATACHA MAN (7) will need a slice of luck from this alley, as he looks at risk of being buried in the run. Breaking a drought with victory here two starts back, he will be probing.

TRALEE MAXIE (1) burrowed through from this gate last start and despite it getting tight into the first turn, was able to hold the front. Keeping an even tempo, he was trying to repel them in the stretch, only SAINT JUJON able to get past. A tough winner two back, he gets his chance here.

CRUZ JOSHUA (5) resumed from a spell with victory here four starts back when finding the front and seeing them off. Placed in two of the three since that win, he chased gamely behind the in-form BAZ here last start. Despite a wide gate, he can throw down a challenge.

MONTEREY JACK (7) overcame the outside second line here two starts back when finishing best to claim a narrow victory. Adding another minor cheque last start, he will be probing.

ARTFUL MASTER (6) eased into the running line from a wide gate last start and had the closing speed to arrive for a 2m margin. Another wide gate makes it a tough ask.

RACE FOUR

THREE ONE FOUR (1) held on for the bronze last start behind the breakaway pair of BAZ and CRUZ JOSHUA who stole a margin on the chasers. Midfield the start prior when trying to chime in from the outside second line, the improved gate can see her capitalise.

WATCHING RICKY (6) has the ODM embargo and has the propensity to do things wrong. Despite being skitchy in the pre-race circle last week, he was able to settle and then position at the rear before descending on them for a smart win. He can ask some questions of them here.

PRETTY LITTLE LIAR (3) takes her first look at the middle trip which might sort a few of these out. Pressing forward to see them off from gate 6 last start, she will be in the mix.

ACHROMATIC (2) started in red figures at her first Qld start when trying to fight them off and holding 2^nd to SKYGIRL. Too far back chasing BAZ last start, an improved gate is a big plus.

LONDON LADY (1) made the most of this gate to keep them wide and take them all the way over the sprint trip here four runs back. Trying to see it out when taking control from gate 5 here two starts back, she can light the lamps again here and look to fight them off.

FEELING THE POWER (7) has placed in four of six this season, including the past three in succession. Trying to mount a challenge up the passing lane last time out, he maps for the soft trip in behind again here and will be looking to mount a challenge.

HOIHO (5) should have no concerns with the middle trip which will be of a worry to some of his competitors. Runner-up last start from the second line, he can be joining in.

MATAI REACTOR (4) was sent out the fav last start from outside the second line but was unable to finish in the money when 7m astern of the winner. He can be thereabouts here.

SNACK TIME ROCKS (1) started from this same gate last start and had the speed to kick through and tried to see it out from the front. Grabbed in the closing strides, a return to 1 win company gives her a challenging chance.

SINGER SNAP (7) has been thereabouts in recent starts, the latest when showing some early hustle before settling three back against the inside. With another soft trip, she can chime in.

ART OF ROCK (8) will take some benefit from his last start where he was resuming from a spell to start his 3YO term. A winner at his final 2YO appearance in October, he can chime in here.

MISTER COLE (7) will have the second line options here as the lone runner off the back line. Faced with the outside front line last start, he struck trouble and was out of business. Holding 3^rd when snookered at Marburg two starts back, he can throw it down here.

TORQUE WRITER (2) was working home in smart fashion last start wide off the track when just 3m from the winner MONTEREY JACK. Settling handy helps her cause.

EXPLANATION NOTED (3) looked to have her chance here last week at the 2040 after walking them in a 65.2 opening half. Collared in the last stride when 2^nd, she can be in the mix again.

CRIME BOSS (5) was exposed in the early stages last start before finding cover and then holding on for the bronze when 4m from the winner. Striking some trouble from the pocket trail two starts back that hampered his chances, he finds conditions here to throw down a challenge.

LORD DENZEL (1) burrowed through from this gate last start when trying to look for an all the way win but faded in the closing stages. He has the gate to grab some money in this line up.

MULLUM BOY (2) flashed some early hustle last start but was unable to get across and settled in the 1x1 trail. He can be handy enough to grab some minor money here.

AMILLIONCHANCES (8) returns from a spell after being shut down following his maiden breaking win back in July. Switching barns in the break, he can feature fresh.

DARED TO DREAM (2) will be further tightened from her latest offering when second up from a spell and hitting the line in smart fashion. With the right trip she can feature.
