Racing Queensland confirms that the Gold Coast Turf Club race meetings scheduled for Saturday, April 13, and Saturday, April 20, have been transferred to the Polytrack at Aquis Park to provide a window for completion of works on the course proper.
The changes have necessitated amendments to some races and distances on the programmes for both meetings, the detail pertaining to which follows:
Saturday, April 13:
- Benchmark 68 Handicap, 1200m, remains unchanged ($50,000);
- Class 4 Handicap, 1800m, is now Benchmark 62 Handicap, 1900m ($28,000);
- Class 2 Handicap, 1400m, is now Benchmark 55 Handicap, 1540m ($28,000);
- Class 2 Plate, 1000m, is now 1050m ($28,000);
- Ratings Band 0–58 Handicap, 1200m, is now Benchmark 58 Handicap, 1200m ($28,000);
- Maiden Handicap, 1400m, is now 1540m ($30,000);
- Maiden Plate, 1000m, is now 1050m ($30,000);
- 2YO Maiden Plate, 1000m, has been deleted from the program; and
- Maiden Plate, 2000m, has been added ($30,000).
Saturday, April 20:
- Class 2 Handicap, 1700m, has been deleted from the program;
- Colts, Geldings & Entires Class 1 Handicap, 1000m, and Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap, 1000m, have both been deleted and replaced with one race, a Class 1 Handicap, 1050m, $28,000;
- Benchmark 62 Handicap, 1400m, is now Benchmark 65 Handicap, 1540m ($28,000);
- Benchmark 58 Handicap, 1800m, is now 2000m ($28,000);
- Maiden Plate, 1200m, remains unchanged ($30,000);
- 3yo Benchmark 60, Handicap 1000m, is now 3yo Maiden Handicap, 1050m ($28,000);
- Benchmark 62 Handicap, 1200m, has been added ($28,000);
- Benchmark 55 Handicap, 1540m, has been added ($28,000); and
- 2yo Maiden Plate, 1000m, is now 1050m ($30,000).
All other detail pertaining to these race meetings (e.g. deadlines etc) remains as has been previously published.
