Rockhampton trainer John Wigginton has put a line through In Evidence’s QTIS Jewel run and is hopeful of a quick return to form from the three-year-old at Eagle Farm on Saturday.
In Evidence, a winner of five of his 14 starts, made the trip south for the $500,000 QTIS Jewel at the Gold Coast last month but struggled to beat two home in the 1200 metre feature.
The son of Nicconi will be seeking redemption at Eagle Farm when he lines up in the Three-Year-Old Quality Handicap over 1200 metres.
In Evidence earned a trip south for the QTIS Jewel Final after winning the QTIS Jewel qualifier at Mackay in late February.
“I don’t know what went wrong,” Wigginton said.
“I took him back home after it and gave him a barrier trial and he finished fourth and was beaten about five lengths.
