RACE ONE

The first 2YO Trot race of the season in Qld where WHY TANYA SUE (4) brings an impressive last start trial performance. Trotting cleanly and running some smart time along the way, the small field first up will help the daughter of Sebastian K look to cash in.

ITS ALL RIGHT NOW (3) is a Wishing Stone filly that trialled smartly over the 2138, making a mid-race move at the 1100 to circle them, take up the running and grip on.

JUSTABITLIKETHIS (1) is a full sister to last season’s handy 2YO JUSTABITLIKESULLY for Doug Lee and she was strong to the line in a recent trial. The inside lane is a plus.

MONTEREY LASS (2) is a half- to the talented AGENT BLACK and is also prepared by Shane Graham. Her trial was sound, and any runner can step forward in these babies’ events.

SELECTIONS: WHY TANYA SUE (4), ITS ALL RIGHT NOW (3), JUSTABITLIKETHIS (1), MONTEREY LASS (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TWO

Really putting it together with wins at his past two starts, GETOVERROVER (13) moves back a further 10m for this week’s assignment. Powering home over the top to pull clear in positing a 15m margin last week, he has the manners and can power up to claim the threepeat.

UTOPIA (10) is the big query runner and stays under a bog watch in this race. First up in Qld, he is a classy type at his best, four starts back he was beaten a whisker at Shepparton behind LOVE GUN. Well covered in two Menangle runs when resuming, his stand start experience is limited.

CEEPEEKAY (5) is the half-sister to Adelle that has had one start in Qld after crossing the Tasman when making an error. Sent for a break, she has trialled in good order for the return.

MY NAMES BRUCE (3) gives away plenty of experience to his rivals but has shown good improvement at each outing, finishing runner-up at his past two. He can chime in again.

SELECTIONS: GETOVERROVER (13), UTOPIA (10), CEEPEEKAY (5), MY NAMES BRUCE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GETOVERROVER (13) to win

RACE THREE

After two runs back from a spell to start her 3YO term, GAIT WITH GRACE (1) might have found the conditions to cash in. Chasing home for the bronze last start behind GETOVERROVER, she had some excuses when resuming with a 3rd. From the front tape, she gets the chance.

HAMMER SON (8) was locked away on the poles last start and found the line when 5th behind FENOMENAL. Looking to overturn a win drought, he can find the right position in transit and in an open race look to issue a challenge.

TUMULT (13) will have a few to work around at some stage from the back tape and capacity field but with the right trip can be thereabouts.

SUPPLANTER (5) has been racing with some consistency, hitting the board at his past four in succession which includes a victory three back. Back to the 20m tape, he can still chime in.

SELECTIONS: GAIT WITH GRACE (1), HAMMER SON (8), TUMULT (13), SUPPLANTER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GAIT WITH GRACE (1) to win

RACE FOUR

A mixed maiden here where the 2YO HAPPY AS CAN BE (5) can look to stake claim for victory off the back of a last start 3rd at his second career appearance. Making some nice metres over the closing stages when 3rd to OUR ULTIMATE QUEEN, he can build off that here.

HATTIES JEWEL (9) has placed in six of her seven starts this campaign as she keeps finding the mainde breaking victory just out of reach, Looking to have found her chance last start at Redcliffe, she was gunned down in the last strides. Chasing, she can be right in the fight.

HAY BALE HUSTLER (3) is a 3YO filly resuming from a spell after ending her 2YO term winless but with four minors in seven attempts. With a sound trial to prepare, she can feature fresh.

KINGSBURY (10) is a 3YO that was on debut last week when settling in the running line form a second line gate and making some late ground to finish 4th. Improvement can see him chime in.

SELECTIONS: HAPPY AS CAN BE (5), HATTIES JEWEL (9), HAY BALE HUSTLER (3), KINGSBURY (10)
SUGGESTED BET: HAPPY AS CAN BE (5) to win

RACE FIVE

A newcomer to the Ron Sallis stable, MACS A DUDE (5) =is a last start winner over the 2260 at Bathurst after darting through on the passing lane to score. This is a wide-open contest made tougher by the middle trip record of the majority of runners which will bear impact.

CHARLIE CHUCKLES (9) was only a half-neck off victory here four starts back after facing gate 10. A beaten fav in front at Redcliffe at his next start, here last week he was midfield to ROCK HAMMER. This looks a raffle, and he might just have a winning number on his ticket.

TRUMPS LEGEND (1) is first up in Qld for Narissa McMullen from the Riverina. Last seen back in March, he is 0 from 27 at the middle trip, but with no public trial, is there a lead to his work?

ROCK IT BABY (12) claimed a win at Redcliffe four starts back when settling in the running line and finishing over the top. His AP record is a big concern, but he can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: MACS A DUDE (5), CHARLIE CHUCKLES (9), TRUMPYS LEGEND (1), ROCK IT BABY (12)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (4)
pressed on to find the front last start and was trying to fight them off when collared in the very last stride up the passing lane. Beaten by gate 7 the start prior, he has the gate to get handy and with the added fitness after three runs back can capitalise.

SOAP OPERA (7) has had another interrupted campaign that has included a trip to Sydney where she did trial but did not see the starter on race day. Winning the APG Bullion Final last start with ease, she is a classy filly with an excellent record but the gate stings fresh.

HES SWEET (3) led them up last start at Redcliffe and was trying to stave off the challengers when just a neck away from the winner LITTLE BOLT. He has early hustle to be in the mix.

MISTER JONES (2) was asked to sit parked two starts back and was in for the fight when just a head away from the passing lane winner. Too far back on Saturday, he is right in the fight here.

SELECTIONS: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (4), SOAP OPERA (7), HES SWEET (3), MISTER JONES (2)
SUGGESTED BET: BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

A winner here three starts back when powering home over the top of the opposition from back in the pack, BETTERTHANAROCKET (11) will be looking to recreate that here. Chasing home ELLIS STREET his past tow, there looks a solid tempo for him to launch off here.

UNCLE MIKI (9) has had two runs back from 12 months off in readiness for a his Winter campaign and a line can be put through the latest where he just chased the field for fitness after an early error. A talented type at his best, with the right trail he can issue a challenge.

LANAI (12) was forced to tackle FFA company last start when chasing home LEAP TO FAME from his gate 7 ODM alley. His numbers might read ordinary, but with clean manners, he is up to this.

MAJOR JAROD (1) settled in the trail last start from this gate and held on for the bronze behind the flying ELLIS STREET. Too far back the start prior, he has the gate to be in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANAROCKET (11), UNCLE MIKI (9), LANAI (12), MAJOR JAROD (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTERTHANAROCKET (11) to win

RACE EIGHT

On paper this race looks set to generate plenty of early heat with a number of go forward and speedy types drawn the front. FACT FINDER (7) receives no favours from the outside paint, but that tempo should help his cause and with a last start 2nd to the flying ELLIS STREET, he can arrive.

DELILAH ROSE (8) had put the writing on the wall with a pair of good performances at her first two Qld appearances and franked that with an all the way victory here last start when keeping the speed on throughout. Likely tucked away here, she will be awaiting the gaps to challenge.

MULLUM AXEL (6) receives no favours from the wider gate in what has been a mixed four start prep to date. A strong winner two back, he loomed strongly last start only to lock wheels.

ROCK HAMMER (4) benefitted from a slick opening half here last week to arrive from gate 10 with a 2m margin. In the money at five of his past six, tempo will aid his hopes again.

SELECTIONS: FACT FINDER (7), DELILAH ROSE (8), MULLUM AXEL (6), ROCK HAMMER (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

After successive Trot Rod victories, BLACKJACK CRIPPA (2) came to HQ here last week and fired off the arm from gate 5 with a sub 27 opening panel appearing on the board. Trying to fight on thereafter, he just missed the money when 4th. A steadier early tempo can see him hold on.

ITS ONE LIFE (1) has placed at his past four in succession and from this gate looks set to stalk the speed. Pressing on to find the front last start at Redcliffe when a beaten red figure fav, he was asked to work too hard the start prior. With the soft trip, he can look to throw it down.

ARCHILLES (8) has been runner-up at his past two starts, beaten under 2m on each occasion. Needing a slice of luck at some stage, he can chime in late for another minor.

ALLNIGHT DANCER (10) arrives in Qld for Narelle McCarthy off a last start 2nd over the Menangle Mile. Giving away plenty of experience to her rivals, she can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: BLACKJACK CRIPPA (2), ITS ONE LIFE (1), ARCHILLES (8), ALLNIGHT DANCER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKJACK CRIPPA (2) to win
