Fifty percent of the first crop of two-year-olds of Catch The Fire (1:46.8), the second fastest son of Captaintreacherous, have raced in North America this season.

Of the 50 foals, Catch The Fire has left 25 starters including seven winners with six inside 2:00.  The fastest of his progeny so far are the filly Prolific Fire (1:57) and the colt Pants On Fire (1:57.2).

There are good reports from leading trainers for a number of Catch The Fire’s initial crop.

Catch The Fire, who is standing at Somerset Farms, of Pete and Chantal McMullen, covered a strong book of 88 mares in his first season in Queensland.

Catch The Fire’s studmate A Rocknroll Dance produced the race record-equalling winner of the $25,000 Italian Cup at Melton last Saturday (June 15) in Tango Tara.

The gelding led from the outset and beat a top field, rating 1:54.5 for 2240 metres with the last half in a sizzling 55.4 seconds.

Tango Tara has now won 16 races and $353,411 in stakes.

A Rocknroll Dance is in seventh position on the all aged list this season with progeny earnings of $2 million. He has sired 109 individual winners.
