RACE ONE

Finishing runner-up in both career starts to date, MONTEREY LASS (2) should appreciate the absence of her conqueror in both attempts, WHY TANYA SUE. Taking the trail last start, she can go one better.

JUSTABITLIKETHIS (6) similarly has run third to WHY TANYA SUE in both starts, one position behind MONTEREY LASS in each. Trotting cleanly at both starts, some further experience will do wonders here and she can issue the challenge.

LAYDOWNLUNA (1) will take benefit from her last start where she was making her race debut wider on the track and retreating. A cosy trip will help.

BUSTER DAN (7) is a Southwind Frank gelding making his debut for Tim Gillespie. Looking to have trotted cleanly in his trials, he can chime in here first up.

SELECTIONS: MONTEREY LASS (2), JUSTABITLIKETHIS (6), LAYDOWNLUNA (1), BUSTER DAN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTEREY LASS (2) to win

RACE TWO

A tricky contest to weigh up made no easier by the capacity field to do battle. PIZZA PRINCE (6) pressed to the breeze last start and was able to grind out the win defeating subsequent winner MY RUMOUR has it. With the chance so settle forward early, he can make his presence felt.

AHUNDREDPLUS (3) broke maiden ranks here three starts back to arrive over the 2138m trip. Stepping out from the tapes for the first time, she stepped cleanly in a trial and if she can get handy soon after the start, it will give her the chance to challenge.

SNOWVANDOVA (1) was safely away last start before releasing and with the good trail held on for the silver. Runner-up three back, she can look to make the most of her chances.

CONNIES PRESIDENT (11) was a winner two starts back when faced with a 10m handicap and closing out strongly.  The full traffic run makes it hard.

SELECTIONS: PIZZA PRINCE (6), AHUNDREDPLUS (3), SNOWVANDOVA (1), CONNIES PRESIDENT (11)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

A 2YO tackling this mixed maiden, SWEET LAD JUJON (2) will take good benefit from his debut where he was making some late metres along the passing lane. A beaten fav on that occasion, he can look to bounce back with a victory here.

RACANA (3) was returning from a spell last start when sent hard in search of the front. Taking over and then only collared in the later stages when finishing with the silver, she can look to gind a forward spot to issue the challenge.

JOHN SNOW (7) was on debut last start when finishing down the line as a long odds-on fav. Outgunned early in that and settling back in the pack, he can look to defy the gate.

LIGHT UP LOVEY (8) was able to hold on for bronze last start at Marburg when the margin to the winner was 11m. Runner-up four runs back, she is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: SWEET LAD JUJON (2), RACANA (3), JOHN SNOW (7), LIGHT UP LOVEY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SWEET LAD JUJON (2) to win

RACE FOUR

Too big and too strong for them here last week, FULL BROTHER (8) powered up off the arm and continued to press forward, taking control and then running a PB with he 4m victory. He will be chasing this time but as the lone runner out the back, secures the early options to capitalise.

KALASA (2) was a winner here three starts back when darting through on the passing lane to grab the prize. Runner-up in both runs since, beaten a head behind HANDS ON and then as a beaten fav last week behind FULL BROTHER. The gate aids the chance of reversing the result.

ART JESTER (7) brings his own number 7 number to the track such is the frequency he draws the outside gate, lining up for his fifth successive start from there. He will run an honest race again.

HOLD ONTO YA BLING (1) eased from the wide gate to search for the shorter way home here last week when down the line behind FULL BROTHER. The gate is a big benefit.

SELECTIONS: FULL BROTHER (8), KALASA (2), ART JESTER (7), HOLD ONTO YA BLING (1)
SUGGESTED BET: FULL BROTHER (8) to win

RACE FIVE

Buried three back from inside the second line here last week, CHARGE AHEAD (3) was being urged from the 400 but continued to pick up ground along the inside to get within 2m of the winner. A gritty effort three back when runner-up to AIR EXPRESS, he gets his chance.

THE MASKED CRUSADER (9) has been runner-up in two Qld outings from fence draws. Gunned down at Redcliffe when trying to take them all the way, he was buried from inside the second line here last start when making some late metres. He can follow through to challenge.

NOVANTA RISING (5) will strip fitter following his last start when midfield in the Redcliffe Derby Consolation. Not ideally suited on the three turn track, he will be better suited on the big deck.

ROCK HAMMER (7) is in career best form, with wins at three of his past five and a narrow 2nd in that same stretch. Seeing them off from the front last start, the gate dents the chances.

SELECTIONS: CHARGE AHEAD (3), THE MASKED CRUSADER (9), NOVANTA RISING (5), ROCK HAMMER (7
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

Stripping fitter following one run back from a spell, MR MCLAREN (5) will appreciate a return to the front line. He did not fire in a stalled two run prep earlier in the season, before returning with a midfield finish to THE TAX CULLECTOR from gate 10. He can charge across here.

THE TAX CULLECTOR (2) bounced back to winning form last start when pressing to the front over the mile and in control was able to defy the challengers to score in a career PB 1.51.9.. He has the gate to press the button again and throw down the challenge.

LAST TANGO IN HEAVEN (9) gained a start in the Redcliffe Cup last time out where he made an error off the tapes. Back to mobile conditions will aid his hopes here.

NICKS PICK (1) tackled the 2680 last start when eased from outside the front line to chase them home as ALWAYS SMOKIN dominated. Tucked away here, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: MR MCLAREN (5), THE TAX CULLECTOR (2), LAST TANGO IN HEAVEN (9), NICKS PICK (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MR MCLAREN (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

Searching for a hat-trick of wins in this grade three starts back, TAIRLAW TOLL (6) powered up from gate 7 to work to the front and then was nabbed in the closing strides. Off the second line his past two, a return to the front line is a big plus and he can force the issue to cash in.

KICKATINALONGPONY (3) settled in the running line from gate 2 here last week and after receiving running line cover, could only manage a 9m deficit. Darting up the passing lane two starts back for the silver when beaten a half-head, he can get forward to challenge.

DADNDAVE (7) tackled a similar contest over the mile here last week at his first AP outing and after being exposed early, gained cover and finished best to score. The gate stings.

DESPONDENT (1) was asked to sit parked last start at Redcliffe and despite the tough trip was able to grip on for the silver. A winner at the mile three back, he has the gate to feature.

SELECTIONS: TAIRLAW TOLL (6), KICKATINALONGPONY (3), DADNDAVE (7), DESPONDENT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TAIRLAW TOLL (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

Two from two since joining the Narissa McMullen barn, TRUMPYS LEGEND (3) has made the most of barrier one on each occasion to lead throughout here at the 2138 and at Marburg over 1850. With the gate to press on with it, he can look to dictate.

BOTTICELLI (9) is a two-time winner from just six starts with both wins coming when pushing on to the front and seeing them off. He likely will not find that pattern here and need to be chasing, but he has shown the speed to throw down the challenge.

GO COLOUR MY WORLD (6) was building towards a win and franked that here three back when grinding out the W. Placed in both since, he can be again in the mix.

JUDITH GWENDA (10) has placed in two of three appearances on this deck, the latest when holding 3rd behind the smart SWEET ON LEXY. She can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: TRUMPYS LEGEND (3), BOTTICELLI (9), GO COLOUR MY WORLD (6), JUDITH GWENDA (10)
SUGGESTED BET: TRUMPYS LEGEND (3) to win

RACE NINE

It will be a tough ask for the smart 2YO SWEET ON LEXY (1) against some highly experienced rivals, but he looks to be well above average. A classy winner first up from a spell here last week, he lands the inside gate and if he can burrow through, will be able to see them off.

DUKE OF SCOTLAND (10) made his first appearance in the Sunshine State a winning one when finding the front, taking cover and then darting home over the top in the stretch. He closed hard in that and if the 2YO is vulnerable or snookered, the Duke can capitalise.

SWEET AGENDA (7) is two from two since arriving in Qld with the Grima barn, leading throughout in both victories. The wide gate makes the threepeat a tough ask.

BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (4) held the pocket trail last start and using the passing lane was just a head from the winner. He can be handy enough to grab another podium.

SELECTIONS: SWEET ON LEXY (1), DUKE OF SCOTLAND (10), SWEET AGENDA (7), BOLD MEDLEY JUJON (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SWEET ON LEXY (1) to win
