Form Analysis: Marburg May 5

RACE 1 

IMA BALLERINA (3) showed very good gate speed last start to find the pegs and ended up in the leaders back trail behind Freelance Dancer. She was first up there and battled on well enough to suggest she’d prove hard to beat in a race of this nature if she was able to lead. 

THE POST GIRL (6) took on what looked a much stronger maiden field last start and was good to battle away for third. Draws awkwardly inside the back row which is no doubt likely to mean she relies on plenty of luck. 

CANT BE HELPED (4) ran second last start at Marburg after closing off strongly there in the concluding stages. This race doesn’t look any tougher and she can be thereabouts again. 

LANEYS LAST (8) closed off nicely two back into second. Went to the line without clear run last start and looks a solid knockout hope.

SUGGESTED BET: IMA BALLERINA (3) to win. 

RACE 2 

GIDUP CAPTAIN (8) was luckless last start when dragged out of the race at a crucial stage. He draws on the back row this time at Marburg which is likely to make it more difficult for him in this race. 

THE BLINGSTER (7) was hitting the line nicely last start once clear. He may have taken out that race with clear running earlier and lands in what appears a similar contest. 

TAPTHEKEG (1) ran second at Marburg last start after leading in that race. Draws gate 1 here and may elect to adopt the same approach in this race. 

WILLROBY (5) didn’t have much luck last start when shuffled back early. This race looks significantly weaker but he is unlikely to find things easy from gate 5 without much gate speed.

SUGGESTED BET: THE BLINGSTER (7) each way. 

RACE 3

MY ULTIMATE RUDI (4) ran on nicely last start into third in what appeared a stronger race. Draws outside a few horses that generally like to get forward in their races but he is versatile and can figure driven a number of ways in this company. 

ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (5) returned last start after nearly a month between runs and was well beaten in a heat of the Goldstrike at Marburg. Should be better for that run and looks to have landed in a suitable race. 

SHEZAMATERIALGIRL (6) ran well last start for third after finding the front early. This race looks a lot easier and she can figure with luck. 

STARS OF AMERICA (1) has fair gate speed and draws ideally in this race. He is second up for Ricky Hart in this race and could improve with a soft run on the pegs.

SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (5) to win. 

RACE 4 

MAN OF ACTION (1) showed good gate speed last start before obtaining a trail there. He draws ideally in this race and should lead easily early. Looks like he will prove hard to run down. 

BATMAN BART (2) appeared to have plenty to give and nowhere to go last start when badly held up in the concluding stages. If he could recapture some of his better form he would be competitive in this type of race. 

ALTANA BLUE (3) was a last start winner in a similar race at Marburg. He finished off best there and came away for a solid win. Gate 3 looks a very awkward draw and he will need to be well driven early. 

HAWK EYE (6) draws to get a cheap run through early following the back of Man Of Action. May be an improver with a cheap trip in behind the speed.

SUGGESTED BET: MAN OF ACTION (1) to win. 

RACE 5

SHES IN LINE (4) is a gate speed horse that finds a race without a lot of gate speed drawn to her inside. If she was able to zip across and lead she’d be extremely hard to beat. Performed nicely to get into second in a recent trial. 

THE MIGHTY MONDO (1) was well beaten last start after being checked early and over racing through the middle of the race. He draws ideally in gate 1 and could be an improver closer to the speed. 

JAKKI MUN (9) was a solid recent trial effort behind Ohoka Nico. He has good speed and could be closing strongly late if the tempo suits. 

CAPTAIN FOXTROT (5) returns from a spell in this race after a really strong effort in a recent trial to score over Cyclone Tony.

SUGGESTED BET: SHES IN LINE (4) to win. 

RACE 6 

ROCK SUPREME (9) was a good winner two starts ago after finding the front. He took on a strong race last start and things didn’t pan out for him there. He won a recent stand start trial in nice fashion and should prove hard to beat in this. 

MADRIGAL (10) was successful racing around Marburg from the stand start three starts ago in good time. She was forced to come off a 30 Metre handicap last start. 

BEAU STEELE (1) is a good beginner from the start and fired away at the start before handing over last start. He was luckless there getting dragged out of the race by a tiring runner before finishing off nicely once clear. 

AZOR AHAI (7) took on a stand start at this track nearly a month ago and ran a good second there to Madrigal. Query on the month between runs. 

SELECTIONS: ROCK SUPREME (9), MADRIGAL (10), BEAU STEELE (1), AZOR AHAI (7)

SUGGESTED BET: ROCK SUPREME (9) to win. 

RACE 7

DOC HARVEY (2) is a gate speed horse that draws nicely in this race. If he can find the top he’d give them something to catch. He scored three starts ago in a stand start sweeping home from a long way back in the race. 

JIMMY BLING (5) scored a big win last start when getting back in a race there was plenty of speed on early. He is likely to get back or do plenty of work early in this race from a wide gate. 

NIGHT NINJA (7) took on a stronger race last start and was forced to work early before racing off the pegs. This race looks more suitable and he can be running on late. 

KEAYANG TARA (9) draws poorly in this race but does look one of the class runners and is generally always hard to beat in this type of grade.
